Hi everyone,
I've kept in touch with an old friend/flame of mine from college for the past 3 years, and we have both been in longterm relationships but are now single. He works in Paris a lot of the time and has invited me over to spend the weekend with him (I live in London, so this is a short trip, 3rd house!) I am very tempted to go for the fun of it but am wondering whether it would be a good idea, as I've not seen him for such a long time and am wondering what exactly what he is expecting!

Virgo rises, and my sig Mercury poorly placed in its detriment of Pisces in the 6th house. So it looks like I'm not in a good position to go.. He is the Moon in the 4th also in detriment of Capricorn. The fact that the Moon is so weak is not a good sign overall, so I guess it looks like a bad idea, though I just would like to make sure this is the case! However, the ruler of the 3rd (house of short trips) Mars is exalted, and sextiles Venus. Both Mars and Venus are however, quincunx Saturn, the ruler of the 5th house of fun and romance, which is as we know, nasty at the moment. In this chart it is in the 11th of friendship.. are we maybe better as friends?

The Moon (his sig) next moves to sextile Mercury (me).. so there is reception between us,so although our sigs are weak, i am wondering which house is most important in this horary. I do feel like going, if only for the adventure!

I would not agree with you that your journey is 3 house matter, I think, go to foreign land is matter of 9 house.

Are you only interested in him as a friend? Because if there is a possibility of him as a romance he would be signified by Jupiter.

I suppose I am considering him as a romantic possibility, yes, but am unsure exactly what he expects/wants to happen between us. If he is Jupiter, then he is strong in his rulership, and in the 3rd. Sorry if I got the 3rd mixed up with the 9th relating to overseas travel, I just hadthe idea that a weekend away was more of a 3rd house affair..

The ruler of the 9th is Venus, conjunct the cusp of the 7th, and sextile Mars, which I suppose puts a more positive light on things. Does this then mean that the trip is a good idea, depsite my weak significator?

First of all, we see South Node on cusp of ASC - not a good start, piece of evidence against trip. Your ruler Me rx in 6 house, ruler of your 10 house too, your job; maybe you will change your mind and will not go because of your job or health problems (ruler in 6 house, house of illness).
Ruler of 7 house, him, is Ju. Neither Moon or Me rx(you) do not applay to Ju so it seams to me that you will not meet. Regarding dignities it seams that you are more interested in him that he in you:(Ju is in Me's term and Mooon's face, while Me is in Ju's sign, term and face).

Thanks Goca for your reply, and I think what you said has a lot of truth, in the fact that my health hasnt been great recently, and also, that I'm wondering whether I'll be able to get time off work!

It is intersting what you said about me being more keen on me, because actually I had thought it was the other way round, I was hesitating about going and he was the one inviting me over, telling me we'd have fun etc. If I did go, does the South Node promise a bad time? And does the fact that the ruler of the 9th is Venus on the cusp of the 7th and sextile Mars of no consequence?

I guess I just want to make absolutely sure!

Althought your Moon has only easy aspects include that one with Ve, ruler of 9 house, you must be aware of fact that Moon is in detriment, so not dignified to act. Me rx, your planet is peregrine, detrimen and in fall. You may have all trines and sextiles in the chart, but if there're no dignified planets, but only planets in detriment (exile, fall) things will not go as planned. And with that S.Node on cusp of ASC it may manifest as some kind of loss for you.
