Will husband physically harm her?

1
My friend's sister is going through a real bad time in her marriage. There is fear that he may try to harm her. Chart is for Feb 20, 2007 7:53 am est. 33'n33 61'w43. [Deb - correction, longitude is 81W43]

This is not a good chart. First thing you see are the nodes exactly conj the Asc., Desc. Watters says this means fatality when connected with planets. Is this other's experience when applied to Asc.?

I do not see this cahrt as bad. Sister of your friend is represented with ruler of first house( 3 from 11) which is Ju in own sign, so it seems that woman is quite well. Ve in 1st house and North Node on cusp of ASC look positive too. You do not say what town is in question, so maybe time zone is not right. Only for gmt-4 I get chart with Nodes on ASC/DSC axic.
If this is right (regarding time zone) we see him as ruler of 7 house and that is Me rx, so, it seems he is not good, maybe he has some health problems, his ruler is in his 6 house. But Me is in Ju sign, that means he loves her, so he will not harm her. There are no applaying aspect from Ju and Me rx one more sign that he will not harm her.

Kali can you confirm the degree of the ascendant? For EST my software makes the ascendant at 17 Aries, but then the nodes are not conjunct the asc-desc.

Also could you confirm who asked the question, what significators you are using, and perhaps say a little to confirm whether or not the significators appropriately describe the people in the question? If the friend asked about her sister, then the sister may be better described by the 3rd house ruler than the 1st house ruler.
Watters says this means fatality when connected with planets.
I think that strong emphasis upon the nodes can often indicate important ?turning points? in our lives, and because of that they are often related to crisis. I wouldn?t assume any more than that. And something as simple as that is never enough to fear fatality.

But my advice is to first test out the reliability of the chart by seeing how it describes the elements of the question that you know about. Spend some time building up a picture of the past and present, before trying to work out what lies ahead and what can be done about it.

Deb, I asked the question. My friend's sister asked me to look at her chart. So I had followed as Goca did to determine the asc and ruler.

The Asc. is 17' 13 Pieces. Jupiter rules the asc and signifies her success in the sales of college books to universities. Right now she is also traveling a good bit for her work. Jupiter makes an exact t-square to the nodes. It's pretty stressfull on her and the family. She has 3 small children.

Venus, tripilicity ruler and exalted are very good signs but my concern is it rules the 8th house and in detriment in the 1st. Venus is her final dispositor in the natal chart in Libra, 7th house on the 8th house cusp and ruler of 8th. Which I thought bodes well for her Venus in 8th

The fixed star Scheat is within 23 mins of Venus and I read it's fortunate at one place and unfortunate from another (extreme unfortunate). Does it depend if it's connected to a benefic or malefic? She has been talking of ending her life. I referred her to Dr. Glen Perry as she has strong trust in astrology.

Her husband is Mercury, ruler of 7th combust in the 12th, house of endings? Everything is falling apart for this man and I see him as someone who is cornered.

Also, ten of the fifteen planet's/nodes dispositors are in the 12th house.
After seeing in her Lunar chart that Moon in Cap. was conj Mars in 7th and inconj Saturn all tight obs I told her not to drive if she's upset. Mars arcs the Uranus/Pluto conj in her 7th house in Solar Arc chart.

I have closely examined her and her husband's progressed chart and do not see a fatality.

I'm learning and am very careful to take what I see with great caution. But I do need to know if my work here has some validity or if I'm way off base and need to keep my own council and study study study. :-)

Hi Goca:
The data is Feb 20, 2007 7:53 am est Aiken, SC. Asc. is 17'13 Pieces. My friend's sister sun sign is Pieces and conj. Neptune within 8 min. at 17'26 Pieces. I think I've got the right chart and asc. for her.

Her husband's significator is Mercury ruler of the 7th. It is retro and combust in the 12th house. While working today it dawned on me a major thorn in their relationship is his secretly spying on her. He goes through her things trying to find proof she is having affairs. Now she feels he's trying to gather proof she's a bad mother so if she divorces him he can take the kids from her. I have no doubt there is lots he's secretly doing and she's not aware.

The info about Jupiter and Mercury is encouraging. Also, I didn't see a hard connection of Mars or Saturn to either significators

I don't know about loving her. Their relationship is so volatile it would be no surprise to anyone that some type of danger will come to them. It would be nice to reassure my friend.

Thanks,

kali

The problem with the data was that in your first post you gave the longitude as 61W43, but Aiken is 81W43. I have corrected that now.
Deb, I asked the question. My friend's sister asked me to look at her chart. So I had followed as Goca did to determine the asc and ruler.
As it happens you ended up in the same place anyway, but if your friend?s sister asked you to look at this then she is the querent, so should be signified by the ascendant and its ruler simply on account of that. But that?s good ? no need to doubt the significations now, especially as it ties in to her nativity and describes her appropriately.
Venus, tripilicity ruler and exalted are very good signs but my concern is it rules the 8th house and in detriment in the 1st.
I?m not sure why you describe Venus as in detriment in the 1st house? Venus is generally well placed in the 1st house, although here Venus and the Moon in the 1st describe her as being focused upon her own emotional needs and the rulership of Venus over the 8th house shows the fearful state of her mind. I wonder if you mean that, at 29 Pisces, Venus is about to leave its sign of exaltation and enter its sign of detriment?
The fixed star Scheat is within 23 mins of Venus and I read it's fortunate at one place and unfortunate from another (extreme unfortunate). Does it depend if it's connected to a benefic or malefic? She has been talking of ending her life. I referred her to Dr. Glen Perry as she has strong trust in astrology.
Scheat is generally known as an unfortunate star, and the stars do tend to exaggerate the importance of things. It adds to the prominence of influence of her 8th house ruler, but remember it is about to change signs, so this is the moment of crisis. Her conversation is likely to be full of worrying comments, because Venus also rules the 3rd ? but I think this is just her way of working through the emotions.

This all seems very apt with his signification in the chart. I can understand your concern. The husband seems very weak emotionally, and she seems to be at the end of her tether with no encouraging vision of the future.

But Jupiter, her main significator as the ascendant ruler, is well placed in this chart: elevated, strong in essential dignity, and receiving the trine of the Moon (as well as its squares to the asc-desc/nodal axis). Remember that the Moon in Aries is also a secondary significator for her, so I think she has a lot of anger underneath her distraught emotions, and that should help to motivate her towards the changes she needs to make. The Moon?s future aspects are mainly positive, so I think that you can offer her the reassurance she needs, and I would be encouraging her to get counselling and relationship advice from a third party. Apart from how you have described this, the symbolism of the chart shows that the relationship she is in is negative and destructive for her. Venus is the natural significator for relationship issues, and the last degree of any sign is known as ?critical? because there is often that last sense of trying to hold onto what is in existence, but with the knowledge that it is slipping away. I imagine she is feeling very hesitant and confused at the moment, but all she needs to do is make one clear commitment in her mind and then I think a lot of other things will fall into place. She must already be aware that the changes involved in ending this relationship will be difficult, but with the Moon being moveable and it?s applications being positive, I don?t think they will be anywhere near as dead-ended or difficult as she fears.

I agree with Goca that Jupiter has a lot more strength than Mercury, so this man cannot harm her unless she allows herself to be harmed by him, and it doesn?t look like she is prepared to tolerate that anymore.

I hope things go well
Deb

Nicely written, Deb! Very hopeful! You make it look soooo easy. I wanted to thank your for your great web site. It is a constant source of material for me to get a deeper understanding. You have a gift.

So sorry about the longitude error.
I?m not sure why you describe Venus as in detriment in the 1st house?
I must have confused the sign with the house and didn't look carefully at the matter.
Scheat is generally known as an unfortunate star, and the stars do tend to exaggerate the importance of things. It adds to the prominence of influence of her 8th house ruler, but remember it is about to change signs, so this is the moment of crisis. This is encouraging. Twice she has frightened her family and the first time she was put into the hospital. That was many years ago and she has accomplished much with her life. Her family won't encourage her in getting a divorce feeling it will hurt her. After your thougths here, I recommended to her sister that they see Cathy's strengths. I think that she needs that.

I spent a good time studying Bonatus's Consideration #9 concerning fixed stars and it seems a planet with dignities is not so susceptible to the harm of such unfortunates.

It was uncanny. Not only did the degrees in the horary match her natal chart Sun/Nept. conj., but his Mercury is combust in his natal as well as the horary.

Thank you so much for your time

Hi:
Not sure of the timing in horary but it seems the crisis has abated. My friend says her sister is taking medication now. She has prepared the papers for seperation but has not filed them yet. Still unsure but I thought when Saturn turns direct there will be no doubt.

Thank you again for your help.
