Obama announced his candidacy: Saturday, 10 February 2007, Springfield, Illinois 11:13 a.m.
The 11:13 am announcement is apparently Eastern Time (EST). At the Illinois location the time was 10:13 am (CST).

From the AstroDatabank site:

?Senator Obama made the announcement of his candidacy for the Democratic Party?s nomination for President on February 10, 2007, shortly after 10 AM CST in Springfield IL (one report gave 10:13 AM as the time). ?

I had heard this elsewhere also.

So let's look at 10:13 am CST on Thomas Edison's Birthday Eve, 2007, Springfield, IL.

Taurus rising - which would be his moon, if it's in Taurus. Ascendant ought to have some connection to his natal chart.

22 Cap midheaven is his Saturn, more or less.

Descendant is his Neptune. In horary, the ascendant is the man speaking. The descendant is his audience. If I'm to be that audience, I'd like to see a lot stronger Neptune than Obama offers. His Neptune is square to his Sun & Mercury, which I don't think is especially helpful.

Mars is bearing down on his Saturn.

Saturn is making retrograde tracks towards his Sun, a conjunction. You could look at that as the government (Saturn) is bending backwards (is retrograde) to make him king (Leos are kings) & if you do, then you conclude the effort will be frustrated, as Saturn turns around & goes away at 18 Leo, before it gets to his sun.

The announcement chart itself not only has a void of course moon, but has a dead-on Sun-Saturn opposition, with the moon square in Scorpio. Moon in Scorpio is another hint that his natal moon may not be in Gemini. Consider that if his moon is in Taurus, then not only was his announcement on a void moon, his entire life is on a void moon. Which reminds me of people with retrograde Mercurys who only come "alive" when Mercury is retrograde.

It will be interesting to see if this candidate long survives Saturn's station on April 19. Saturn, moving direct, will then oppose 2.10 Neptune, oppose 2.10 Sun, and square 2.10 moon.

By the end of the year, Saturn will have conjuncted his Uranus, conjuncted his north node, squared his moon & conjuncted his Pluto. Jupiter is in Sag this year. Can't see it will help him much.

Going to be a rough year for the guy. Next year looks a lot easier. His birth certificate will turn up eventually & then we will all know.

If it's of interest, I have the Aquarian Age worked out to a series of specific dates & times in Paris & New York in 1913, and can show distinct cultural shifts occuring in that year & carrying forward to the present.

Outside it's still snowing.
