See, Gunhilde, there's that 12House again. :-T

And when the 12House is pointing to a valid tangible factor that brings benefit into the life of the querent, when might it be possible to look at the 12House not so much as positive but perhaps as neutral? In my studies, the 12House indication makes events related to hospitals entirely debilitating. I guess I wanted to understand when if ever the 12House could be positive. Maybe when it comes to release from jail, then the 12House might become joyous. :-?

As for my horary above, I wasn't sure that a chart about a job could get much worse. All the houses of disappointment are emphasized. And what was most disappointing was to see the 9House ruler (my skills and knowledge) cadent in the 6th. This important, positive part of my make-up, illustrated by Jupiter with so much essential dignity, cannot easily find expression in my daily work routine. Drat!

On the contrary, I was very pleased, Deb, that you have confirmed for me the indicators of change. The thought of being trapped in this job one day longer than absolutely necessary fills me with despair, despair which is also implied in that 12House Moon. Everything which Deb pointed out was exactly correct regarding the financial necessity to take this job in whatever way it was offered, and that I see this post as a stepping stone to other things. I hadn't considered that the 6House would indicate medical work as well as the 12House. Perhaps when it comes to a hospital environment, the 6House would be a better placement for a significator since, of the 'bad' houses, it is the least debilitated according to Lilly and is directly associated with disease and health matters, and action related to that. This wouldn't exclude professional concerns necessarily.

Which brings me around to Gunhilde's chart. I looked over your chart quickly and I would offer conditionally that you should pursue it. 9House ruler in dignity, angular in the 1House=skills and knowledge which you already possess or could get with what you already have in place. It may also be an occupation you would enjoy. Jupiter=higher education is strong and in joy. Moon in the 9House conjunct Spica applying to Saturn, nice! :D MC ruler and POF ruler in good shape in the 11H.

But why is Saturn over there right on the cusp of the 8House? That is some serious anxiety and trouble there. Are you lacking self-confidence? What are you afraid of? Saturn rules the 2House, is it a money issue or an issue of self-worth? I have to ask the kind of question that I believe Deb would ask: what's a nice girl like you doing debilitated and malefic in the extreme on the very cusp of the 8House? Something is really incongruous in this picture; moreover, the 8House ruler is in the 12House, that's not good either. Saturn to me represents holding something in, are you lacking in self-confidence? Saturn does get some help from the Sun, who's in a good place in Sagittarius, who shines light on the darkness of the 12House, bringing these issues out into the light.

Saturn and Sun in trine means an easy relationship forms with the weakness and debility represented in the 12House, the partile sextile between the Sun and Moon seems to emphasize this to my mind. And with the Sun and Jupiter in mutual reception, this debility has the potential to influence your educational pursuits, studies which would be good for you. I could be totally wrong about this, but it may be that at times you swing back and forth between being over-confident and under-confident regarding your ability or your commitment to medicine. This would be problematic in a profession where patients need to see confidence, control and steadiness in those who care for them.

Until Saturn in the 8House is delineated thoroughly by you, your motivations toward being a nurse may remain murky and tentative. Your self-doubts may work against you, undermine your potential.

And I see now that my own delineation of the 12House is for the most part negative. Something to think about. :???:

Pankajdubey is correct when he/she surmises an administrative turn, I am involved with bureaucratic administration of research projects as well as data-gathering and analysis. Pankaj hold onto your biases, you were spot on with this. :D

Many Thanks to all those who looked over these charts. A great thread!

Ah, 1000Camels, how prescient you are! :)

My dreadful significator in my chart is the perfect description of where I am at the moment: flat broke, in debt (8th house), about to move overseas (again), and entering a sort of pre-mid-life-crisis phase! Being that Saturn is so close to the cusp, I am metaphorically 'on the fence'. As a dyed-in-the-wool Sagittarius with Neptune exactly conjunct my MC, you might say I have commitment issues, especially regarding a career wherein I would have so much responsibility, although responsibility is actually something I'm quite comfortable with (I'm a very Saturnine Sag). So I'm feeling a bit like a yo-yo at the moment, where this issue is concerned.

I *know* in my heart I am more than capable of being a good nurse and more (I am aiming at nurse practitioner so I can be in charge 8) ), but at the same time I'm absolutely terrified of committing to this course and then regretting it sometime halfway through. Yes, lack of confidence. Yes, swing back and forth about 'yes I can no I can't'. Yes, money issues, as nursing is not too badly paid in the States (as opposed to Britain!!), the course is only two years, and I can look forward to a decent paycheck the minute I leave the course. So it's a sort of financial decision as well as a 'calling'.

You were bang-on target, and I thank you for your insights into Saturn in this position. I'm grateful to everyone else on this [usurped] thread as well! :D
