The kids found an injured rook in the playing field behind our house two days ago, and Mr. Gunhilde brought him home to nurse. His feet are partially paralyzed and he hobbles around on his 'knuckles', but otherwise seems in good health: shiny feathers, good appetite (loves cooked pasta), drinks water; just can't walk, and he needs to be able to walk to lift off for flight. The vet said it may be a toxin causing the partial paralysis.

Being that I'd like to release him back into the wild if he recovers, I asked the question:

Will 'Rookie' get better?

I don't think Rookie will die, as Lord 8 is that very weak Saturn, placed in the 2nd, and Jupiter has separated from its trine to Saturn. The Moon makes no aspect to Saturn.

Jupiter is the strongest planet in the sky at this time, so am I to take all of this as:

Rookie will not die, but live. However, he won't 'get better', in terms of his feet and legs?

Rookie is still doing okay. We are going to take him to an injured bird sanctuary in Northampton this weekend, where he'll be in good company. The lady there says that physiotherapy might make a difference to his feet, but I'm not so sure. But he'll be well taken care of.

The significator for illness and the significator for small animals is the 6th house.

jupiter is in the 6th house which he rules and moon is about to perfect her square to Jupiter.

teh Part of Fortune is in the 12th house of large institutions/hospitals, which suggests to me that the bird sanctuary is the birds best bet.

North node conj the MC suggests to me the bird might get some more press...

Well, I think I pretty much answered my own question, but the part about Lord 6 being stronger than Lord 1 confused me, because it was so very strong and in its own house, and Rookie seems to be in such good health.

I've grown quite attached to him. I'm glad we've found him a good home. He's vulnerable to cats, which seem to exist in the millions in this neighbourhood.

Having never done an animal horary before, I wanted to stretch my wings.
