Will I get help?

Hi guys,

Another house-purchase related question. A strange chain of events have led to the possibility that a large sum of money may come from the ex-husband of my mother's friend for the purpose of helping me buy a flat. I found this out yesterday and it's driving me insane because it certainly seems too good to be true!

I think what I should be looking for is an applying aspect between Lord 1/2 and Lord 8.

Chart data is 10:35am GMT, 21/03/07, Carlisle UK. 10 Cancer rises.

Lord 1 and 2 is the Moon at 3 Taurus. Lord 8 is Saturn R at 18 Leo.

Lord 8 being in detriment makes me think perhaps this guy can't help, even if he wanted to. Also he's afflicted by an applying opposition to Mars. If he were rich we'd expect him to be shown by Jupiter in Sag or Venus in Taurus perhaps.

The Moon applies immediately to conjunct Venus, Lord 5/12. Not sure what this could symbolise.

I notice Mercury in Pisces just inside the MC. As Lord 4 he shows that the issue of property is the aspiration here.

The Moon will eventually toddle round to square Saturn, but only after conjuncting Venus and squaring Mars. In fact I think Mars will beat the Moon and aspect Saturn first. The fact that Mars and Venus are in the way of the Moon/Saturn aspect seems to be prohibition. Also the Moon is not yet in orb of Saturn, and there is no reception between them in any case.

So all in all this doesn't look likely. Damn!

Does anyone think I've missed something? Or should I have used the 11th house for "pennies from heaven" or "hopes and wishes"? I think the Moon's position in the 11th shows I'm concerned in both these areas! Although Lord 11 is Mars, and again he's lacking essential dignity in Aquarius, and is being afflicted by that nasty Saturn!

But what could that Venus be?

Ok, I give up :)

I'm not sure Venus would be considered an impediment, especially as she's in dignity. Maybe it's a windfall from the lottery, as the 5th rules the Lotto!

Seriously, though, if this is a rumour you have heard, would it make sense to read the chart for 'is the rumour true'; I'm not sure you can switch questions around on a single chart, but...

I would tend to see *some* sort of help coming from Venus; maybe from the woman instead of the man?

Aargh. :?

Thanks for your reply, Gunhilde. Your points are helpful - the lady involved *is* looking to help me in some way. So you're right on, the Venus could show her involvement. Also the fact that both Moon and Venus are strongly dignified in Taurus - I take this as a positive sign that there will be a good outcome from whatever the Venus conjunction signifies.

For "Is the rumour true?" we look at the 3rd house. Straight away we find that nasty retrograde Saturn smack bang in the middle of the 3rd. This could show that it's not true, and/or I will be harmed by the information. (I'm using Frawley's Textbook here.)

Truth would be shown by fixed signs and angular houses:

Angles are not fixed
Lord 1/Moon is fixed
Moon's dispositor is fixed (Venus)
Lord 3 is not fixed.

The only angular planet is Mercury in Pisces - debilitated Mercury showing gossip and misinformation! So maybe Mercury being so prominent isn't anything to do with him being Lord 4 - he could just show misinformation.

Yuck!

I just took a quick look at the chart and it is interesting how it reflects the good news. Moon, you and also your money, immediately applying to Venus in the 11th, and 11th ruler on the 9th cusp. I?m not so sure about the help from the man, Saturn doesn?t seem to have much strength or relevant contact in the chart. But overall is seems like a helpful chart, and Gunhilde?s comment certainly hit the mark.
Well done Keren!
