I?m not sure if you are referring to the election Mercury or natal (interesting, semisquares both). It?s a curious thing about successful election charts, they do not need a whole lot of essential dignity (which is nearly impossible to find anyway). Nor do detrimented planets, when properly placed, take away anything. For example, Johnny Carson launched his talk-show when both the Moon and Venus were detrimented (in Scorpio) yet it went on to be one of the most successful and longest running shows in the history of television! Mercury was RX under beams of a detrimented Sun. Go figure .

In the near 7:30 pm election the Moon in Capricorn describes Kim's work, illuminating ancient knowledge. It will be conjunct the IC (all the way back to the cradle of civilization) and nicely sextile the other illuminator, the Sun. Venus is considered detrimented in Aries, but this seems to represent Lady Pioneer ? nothing like this book has ever been done before. Mercury and Venus are sextile, exactly what a good book launch needs ? makes me want to read the book already.

Jupiter partile applying to the PoF is especially good. Switching to natal, Jupiter will transit Kim's Sun twice more this year.

Most of my books haven't had a formal launch. They just emerged. The only last launch I had was 15 July 2005, London 7 pm.

We're still waiting to find out

The evening went well. The staff in the pub we'd hired did us proud and made a lot of effort to make sure things ran smoothly. Far more than they'd committed to. Plenty of people turned up, we had a full room without having to squeeze people in. We made the first sale at 7:30 pm, after which there was a flurry of enthusiasm as most people there bought a copy. I suppose rthe best sign of the evening going well is that although we officially ended at 9 pm, most people didn't leave until after 11.

But as to whether the election worked to aid book sales ... Although copies have now been sent out to bookshops and for review, we haven't had any feedback yet or taken any direct orders.

Unless you all send dozens of friends out tomorrow to buy copies (please feel free if you have dozens of friends who like you to boss them around), it will be a little while before we can work out how well it's going. I'll pop back if I suddenly become rich and famous on the back of it, just to make sure you don't miss it.

Sounds good. Was there anything about the event that picked up the theme of the electional chart, did you notice? If not, you might notice it later. Keep us posted.
