I imagine that being able to understand the timings in Horary Charts will give a huge boost to the confidence of the information being delivered.

I'm aware that house effects clearly timing as does perhaps type of sign.

I'm told that the number of degrees between applying or seperating planets can be seen as units of time.

Somebody suggested that it is good if you already know a time scale in "reality" to benchmark it into the chart. ie something clearly showing in the chart for which you know the time allows the rest of the chart to be factired accordingly.

These however are just vague concepts to me.

I'll give them ago.

This is a pretty good (and funny) article on timings. I don't think there's a set rule; it's very contextual.
