I had an unusual experience at Marseille Airport.

Someboyd stopped me and asked if I could give him 20 Euro. He did seem distressed and didn't seem like some sort of Con.

So I'm trying to improve my Horary but seem only to be able to pull up charts that have some "meaning".

So the question is "Did he Con me?"

When you say that you were approached by a man at the airport asking for 20E, how do you mean, was he a beggar, or was he trying to sell you something, or what?

It's just I don't understand how it is that you feel you were conned without knowing the circumstances in which you gave this man 20E.

Why did he ask you for the money and why did you give it to him?

If this was a beggar asking for money and you gave it to him, how is it a con? Was it that you suspect that he was trying to extract money from you under false pretences?

No he was not a begger, he was well enough dressed, had a mobile, and explained that he was in a really bad situation and asked for 20 Euro.

I'm just wondering if he was genuine, and if, so then he'd be able to send the money back.

I've been "his" situation twice and both times people gave me money which I then sent them.

Okay, now I see. He is supposed to be sending you this money back, and you wish to know if you can trust him.

So once upon a time there was a distant descendant of Jack (of the Bean Stalk fame) who went to Marseille's airport with a (small) wod of cash in his wallet. He was feeling pleased with himself for at last after long, long months of hardship he actually felt ahead. At last he could think of paying off some of his debts. He could meet his friend off the plane and they could celebrate a little together but within less than 2 minutes of meeting his friend he was 20 Euros lighter. Mugged out of it by some seemingly distressed individual.

Was I conned?

i.e. was the man really in such a distressful situation as it seemed?

And does it suggest that the money would be returned in due course?

Well this chart is right on the edge of my knowledge and I think it doesn't look too good.

The first question is do we have an event?

I'm Mercury on cusp of 8th Aries at 4' and he's Jupiter in Sag retro at 19'.

There is no aspect between us except the dodgey old 105. Which is separating. I think it is valid here because it's a sort of one off aspect.

Worth considering Merc in Jupiter?s face and Jupiter just returning to Mercury's (not sure if that is totally valid)

So go to Moon. Moon forms an aspect to him. So that is a sort of event. A separating sextile at the edge of the orb.

Moon in 6th. Applying square to Venus and separating opposition to very nasty Saturn.

So not great but Moon is in it's Face in Aquarius and Jupiter in it?s natural house. So I'd feel that is positive. ie it was a genuine situation.

He did seem very relieved when he got the money.

Don't see too much good for Mercury which goes with my feeling that I lost something. In reality it was only 20 Euros but it feels like more.

I have read your query. It doesn’t matter how you phrase it. I feel that your query comprises of two questions.

Was the person who borrowed money noble (genuine)?

Will he return the money?

If the answer to first question is in affirmative. You would not mind if due to some unavoidable circumstances he is not able to return the money.

So I will take care of first question.

In essence this question resembles to following

Whether man or woman be more noble? (p. 308 Christina Astrology)

William Lilly writes;

If the Lord of the 7th be in an angle, and the Lord of the Ascendant in a succedent house, the woman is best descended; and if the Lord of the ascendant be in an angle, judge accordingly; in like manner one may judge of any two companions, or any one else: A most assured way is, by observing which of the significators is more superior, and most potent in essential Dignities; if no such thing be, who is best placed in an angle, is most noble; and this will not fail.

Your significator is Mercury, which is peregrine in succedent house. His significator is Jupiter, which is in 4th house (an angle). The Jupiter is in its own house but retrograde. It proves that the person was genuine and was distressed and in need. Furthermore, Jupiter scores more than Mercury.

The second question is will he return money?

I again refer to William Lilly.

He has given many rules. I will try to summarize.

-If the Lord of the Ascendant or the Moon be joyned to the Lord of the 8th (Moon though in its last degree in the sign is in applying conjunction to the Mars within moiety of its orb) the querent will get the money.

-If the infortune planet be in the 8th or Lord of 8th and receive either the Lord of Ascendant or Moon the querent shall obtain his desire. (Mars Lord of 8th receives Mercury by house and Face, furthermore Mercury is almost in 8th house, Mars also receives Moon by face and Moon is in applying conjunction of Lord of 8th)

There are many other rules and one has to weigh all the testimonies. But I am stopping here.


So, in my humble opinion. He may return you the money.

I wonder the Moon's first applying aspect is square to Venus (9th house) which happens to be Lord of 9th and 2th house. What does it mean?
