Hi Amanda,

How were the significators placed? (rulers of 1st and 7th house?) Is there any aspect between them? And what other aspects does the Moon make? The Moon is strong in Taurus but as it's in the 1st 3 degrees of the sign this weakens this, added to the fact that it's under the sun's rays. As to the 8th house - it's not a great place for the Moon to be; with regards to a relationship horary would personally say that it could relate to sexual passion/compulsion.. This would perhaps be an underlying theme in the relationship. Although we'd have to see all the aspects with the Moon to be sure.
Maybe if you posted the data and had a go at working out what the positions of the 2 significators added to this?

Thanks for your reply! My sig is mercury also in the eighth house and conjunct the star ceres. His sig is Jupiter in the fourth house.

Me - Mercury Aries 11 degrees
Him - Jupiter Sag 18 degrees

I've been going through some readjustments in my life, having a lot of anxiety, that's all that I can think of as to why I'm in the eighth house. Basically, I was working too much, isolating myself without really acknowledging it and finally when it hit me, I decided to go out and met this guy in my neighborhood. So far we have only gone out twice and things are tentative at best.

He lives in my neighborhood, but not in my home and has never been there so I don't know why he is in my fourth house.

The moon also trines pluto which also conjuncts his sig Jupiter so it's also in Sag, position: 28 degrees Other than that the moon quintiles Neptune in my 6th house Neptune in Aquarius 21 degrees. The moon also makes an aspect to Uranus which is conjunct the DC in the seventh house. I don't know the name of the aspect only that its a greater than sign "<" .I should also mention jupiter and pluto are in retrograde. Jupiter is dominant position.

So, yeah, I'm confused about his 4th house position but my position seems to make sense. Uranus could signify him changing his mind about me and stop calling, I would think. But I feel moon trine pluto is hopeful since pluto conjuncts his Jupiter. I'm not sure if he has any power or not since they are both planets are retrograde.

What do you think?

I forgot to mention that venus and mars also aspect one another. It's a square but I thought this was better than nothing,

Venus 6 degrees in Gemini 9th house

Mars 8 degrees in Pisces 6th house

And venus and mercury (my sig) sextile!

Hi Amanda,

While the Moon is interesting, I would put more emphasis on the receptions of Lord 1 and Lord 7. Jupiter in Sag is in the detriment of Mercury. This doesn't look good for him liking you a lot! So just on this one bit of information I would put my vote in for a "no" answer, i.e. this relationship will not continue, because for one reason or another he's just not that into you.

The other significators in the chart will expand upon this if you explore them.

I would put the position of Jupiter in the 4th as an indicator that he is the one with the power in this relationship (angular), unlike your significator which is weak in the 8th. Also Jupiter's strong essential dignity (being in his own sign) indicates further that he is the one with the major say over where the relationship goes.

Sorry it's not better news but from the sound of your posts you weren't holding any false hope anyway :)

I realise that, from the signs the planets are in... However, a trine does not show a relationship. It shows the opportunity for one. The dignities of the significators tell us whether or not they will take advantage of this opportunity. Due to the lack of positive mutual reception, I would judge that there is an opportunity for a relationship, but for whatever reason, this opportunity will not be fulfilled. Is the trine separating or applying? What do you think this means, in context?

Hi Keren,

I believe they are applying. Mercury (me) is positioned at 11 degrees in the 8th house of aries and Jupiter (him) is positioned at 19 degrees in the 4th house of sag. I say applying b/c mercury is the faster moving planet, correct?

As far as putting this into context, I would say yes, we are dating so there is an opportunity for a relationship...Are you asking me if there was some kind of missed opportunity? I can't think of anything.

The Moon is combust in your chart, not under the beams. It's only 5 degrees away, in a separating conjunction.

Lilly says that a combust moon is the worst possible condition for the moon to be in, in a chart. He says it's better for Lord 1 to be in bad shape, than the moon. New Moons are never great times to cast charts; I don't think it matters that they are exalted, or should I say, it doesn't matter that the Moon is exalted. The Sun overpowers her.

In the absence of data the answer is at best a speculation.

The query was potential love relationship?----


-At best a relationship (Mercury Trines Jupiter)

-No Love (No Mutual relationship between Mercury and Jupiter)

-The relationship contines but ends suddenly (Mercury makes an aspect with Saturn who is placed in 12th house---Mercury is under the sun beams sun may be lord of 12th-----South Node conjuncts Ascendant---Uranus conjuncts descendant---suddenness of a relationship where partner would not be symphathetic to your worries or 12th house issues--)

So my take is that at best it is love less relationship with a note of Uranus (free) attached to it.

Wow! So you think things will continue but will end suddenly? You were right about the freedom part...he keeps his space. I'll let you know what happens also I found this on the internet, thought it was interesting...

There is some debate about this. In fact, there was a big debate about this several months ago. (Can someone remember the thread?)
In all Questions, know there?s not so great an affliction to the Moon, as when she is in Conjunction with the SUN; the ill aspects of the infortunes doth much afflict her, but none so powerfull as her Combustion.
(CA 303).
Note he doesn't say 'they have to be in the same sign', he says 'combustion'. I should think that this applies even if across signs, much as 'under the beams' does. Always works for me.
