by Andrew Bevan My experience is that if you can determine the country, city or team by sign, the Moon beholding that sign will greatly advance the chances of that team, but the Moon opposing that sign, or inconjunct, can be a disadvantage. My thumb rule would be to check the sign of the Moon at the time of the match and see which team seemed most in favour in terms of sign. My thoughts would be Arsenal - Aries & Sun; Liverpool - Mars, Scorpio; Chelsea - Venus; Man U - Mars, Scorpio; Everton - Mercury, Gemini or Libra?; Aston Villa - Aries, maybe Jupiter; Birmingham - Virgo. Just suggestions really. But "Hey!" I am neither an authority on British football or the astrology of British towns & cities and would immediately lie flat for anyone with experience in this field. It would be very interesting if anyone had opinions or experience on the signs of footballteams. Interesting , for final UEFA Champion Leaugue match Moon is in Vi sign, sign of Athens!! So this could be of great help as you said in cases you mention! 87 by Ficina Welcome to the party, Andrew! I'm all for keeping it simple but I think your approach takes the biscuit If this method works week in, week out then we could all be millionaires. Perhaps you are one? Just to make sure I understand you correctly. Are you taking Mars as significator for Liverpool because they were the home team or for some other reason? Goca, yes, the Moon is in Virgo but I have given Mercury to Liverpool. So Andrew, in the chart for the final, which team do you reckon is signified by Mercury? Quote Mon May 07, 2007 5:08 pm
by Andrew Bevan Liverpool is Scorpio and Milan is Cancer in my copy of Simmonite and Rex Bills' Rulership Book. If Moon is in Virgo on the night of the match, that is interesting but the relationship in both cases is a sextile through signs of long ascension. The sextile through signs of long ascension may be foolhardy. The dexter aspect is prone to build up its game in a secure manner, while the sinister may break through on suprize or a counter attack. Mars and Moon are enemies by essential powers; Moon has its fall in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer; However, Mars gathers more essential dignities in Cancer, than the Moon in Scorpio - although the powers of the Moon agree with the powers of Scorpio, i.e. cold and moist. I would suggest it to be a difficult game, both teams showing skill, but I would fear it to get tough. Moon in Virgo - Mercury corrupts the Moon, which could mean a disadvantage or referee judgement going against Milan. Milan apt to appear stronger, but Liverpool to get lucky, i.e. by nature of the sinister aspect. This would be my 'thumb-rule' approach, anyhow. http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon May 07, 2007 6:27 pm
by Ficina Fascinating stuff, thanks Andrew. Sorry, I was obviously replying to your first post at the same time as you were editing it. So you don't use the actual chart at all. That's really interesting because it means you could look at games that all kick off at the same time, like 3pm on Saturdays here. The only difficulty I can see is allocating signs/planets to teams. We can consult the authorities for most of the big cities, but what about those that have more than one team? Manchester for example. And with teams such as Arsenal or Charlton I guess it becomes rather subjective. Arsenal - Aries & Sun; Liverpool - Mars, Scorpio; Chelsea - Venus; Man U - Mars, Scorpio; Everton - Mercury, Gemini or Libra?; Aston Villa - Aries, maybe Jupiter; Birmingham - Virgo. I'm really interested to know how you decided on these. Arsenal I'd think of as Aries/Mars (arsenal-weapons-Gunners etc). Bills gives Aries for Birmingham. Thanks again for your explanation. It's obviously not nearly as simple as I'd (wrongly) assumed, especially when you start considering sinister and dexter aspects Quote Mon May 07, 2007 8:21 pm
by Andrew Bevan Just feeling around with some of the teams really, Ficina. Aston Villa is a Birmingham team and I initially feel they have an Arian quality, which agrees with B'ham and Aries, but then it feels as if there is a flare of Jupiter present. Hence the stripes and colours of the team suits. (In comparison Arsenal feels different with the compination of Aries, Sun and Leo). Virgo is the antiscia of Aries - which is my explaination of wanting to associate B'ham with Virgo. Football-wise, B'ham seems to have been in the shaddow of Villa for some time now. Is it correct to assign Wolves as a Birmingham team? Should the orange suit follow the Sun, or is there some resemblance with Holland and Cancer? This evening I caught a bit of a Tottenham game - surely Saturnian and Capricorn for the Spurs' team in their black and white? Manchester is in Bills' given a Cancer rulership. I can't but help feel I would give Man U a Scorpio rulership but then Man City has a lighter feel to it (Sagittarius, Libra, Gemini? I don't know). If Man U was up against Liverpool, both having a Scorpio flavour, perhaps it would do to examine which sign came out best in regard to the Moon - either Cancer or Virgo. What I am suggesting is, when on equals, go back on the roots and take a second look. If a London team is up against a B'ham team - would Gemini against Aries provide a 2nd consideration? But honestly! No absolutes from me on this matter and my ideas are on a thumb-rule level, that I occasionally find interesting. If we kick the ball a bit backwards and forwards, surely this could be a field of further exploration. And I hope there some room for creativity here without the immediate need of a penalty kick! http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon May 07, 2007 10:00 pm
by Goca Andrew, Liverpool is Scorpio and Milan is Cancer in my copy of Simmonite and Rex Bills' Rulership Book. Do you perhaps in that book have exact degrees for cities? I ask you because I have info that Liverpool is ruled by 19th degrees of Sco, so there Sun falls in 11th house of event chart for final match Champions Leaugue. I am very interested for Milan's degree, because there Sun falls either in 7 house, or 8 house, or maybe conjuct Ve in event chart? 92 by Ficina Andrew, Is it correct to assign Wolves as a Birmingham team? Wolverhampton is definitely a town in its own right. Even West Brom, which is closer to Birmingham, gets a separate listing (Sag) in Bills. Wolves' colours are gold and black, which sounds very Saturn in Leo. Spurs' colours are dark blue and white. If a London team is up against a B'ham team - would Gemini against Aries provide a 2nd consideration? Yes, that's a good idea. If we kick the ball a bit backwards and forwards, surely this could be a field of further exploration. And I hope there some room for creativity here without the immediate need of a penalty kick! And hopefully no red cards! Gem, I'll try and have a look at the Chelsea/ManU game later. Perhaps we could try out Andrew's method on it? Quote Tue May 08, 2007 9:10 am
by Gem Andrew Very interesting indeed. Some of your 'feeling around' in asigning a sign to the teams sound definitely right. For example, [/quote] caught a bit of a Tottenham game - surely Saturnian and Capricorn for the Spurs' team in their black and white? I enjoyed that game too(Spurs are my second favourite team) and I agree threre is a bit of Saturnian flavour. But as Ficina pointed out: what about those that have more than one team? Manchester for example. And with teams such as Arsenal or Charlton I guess it becomes rather subjective What do you think about looking at the charts of the foundations of the clubs? 94 by Gem Ficina Gem, I'll try and have a look at the Chelsea/ManU game later. Perhaps we could try out Andrew's method on it? Looking forward to it!! though it may take some time for me to work it out using Andrew's method but I'll try. Quote Tue May 08, 2007 9:53 am
by Andrew Bevan I would not emphasis the founding chart of the club too much, as far as the outcome of weekly games are concerned, but I think it would validate the sign(s) associated with the club if these were found on the Meridian (either MC or IC) and on the ascendant. I certainly had cases where the Moon in sign method went against me (although some times on overtime), but it did very often give me an indication as to how I could stack my odds. Bills' gives Wolverhampton as Gemini. Of the top of my head, Gemini intercepted in the 10th house would make the last degrees of Leo the ascendant (Regulus). In my mind if would be possible to see some restructuring within the club and the club start to move as Saturn crosses the last degrees of Leo and enters Virgo. But why would a team like Holland (Cancer) run round in Orange tops? Mars rules the triplicity - but the Sun has no dignities there? http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue May 08, 2007 12:39 pm
by Gem Thanks Andrew. I said I'd try his method but obviously it's best to leave him to do it. Tomorrow's chart between Utd and Chelea looks very similar to yesterday's match between Spurs and Charlton so I'll comment on yesterday's chart first(7 May , 20:00), in which Spurs won 2-0, sending Charlton off into the relegation. The Moon formed a wide trine to Mars(Charlton) but since the Moon was in a common house it didin't help Charlton. The only explanation I can offer for a comfortable win for Spurs is a trine between Venus(Spurs) at 29 Gemini and the IC at 28 Aquarius. In tomorrow's chart( 9 May, 20:00, Stamford Bridge, London), Venus(Utd) at 1 Cancer forms an out of sign trine to the IC at 28 Aquarius. It's close but there's a sort of boundary or barrier( could mean something like a legitimate goal denied or something?). A curious feature is the Moon(13 Aquarius) in the 3rd squares hte AC/DC and sextiles the N Node. Since the N Ndoe is in an angular house this may be important. Now I'm not so sure it's going to be a draw. But why would a team like Holland (Cancer) run round in Orange tops? Mars rules the triplicity - but the Sun has no dignities there? Sounds like a philosophical question. Maybe Ficina will be able to answer this. Quote Tue May 08, 2007 6:49 pm
