I think Harper collins has lost their minds, I know they have lost my patronage and I was going to do a horary about whether or not a boycott will do any good and realized I wasn't certain what houses to use and if there were some fixed stars that might have something to do with either publishing or books etc... I"m assuming 3rd house to represent the publisher, but thought I'd ask some questions first about thoughts on a horary of this nature and colateral information.

I mean for instance would you use 7th from third to represent the boycott or? (I'm irritated of the unparalelled slaughter of some good childrens literature in case it matters at all,though I think that is not so rellevant to the horary)

Thoughts on reading such a horary?

The 9th rules publishers, so far as I know. I've never heard of the 3rd being used.

The Moon, I reckon, would represent a boycott, since it rules action as well as 'the People'.

It depends on what kind of boycott you're trying to do, Granny. Is this a large-scale, highly publicised boycott, newspapers, etc? Or just a boycott-of-one? I can tell you without looking at a chart: a boycott of one will have about as much effect as a fly buzzing on the windowsill, for someone the size of H.C. !

I boycotted Disney (a boycott of one) for the same reason; all their children's books involved a great deal of nasty violence. I didn't especially want to read stories about pushing people off cliffs to my 1-year old.

I agree with Gunhilde, cause according to my knowledge, the Publishers are presented by 9th house and as it happens with other persons, if you have problem with a person, still you have to see that house. So, only 1-9 and throw in Saturn for a boycott. (Moon is a co-significator of Querent, let us leave her free to do other stuff)

Seems a starange question. Are you talking about a personal boycott or organising a public protest?

Actually I was hoping to get a good portion of my bibliophile friends to write them and let them know they are being boycotted and pass along the idea. sort of an email campaign if you will, of at least 6 months so that it would have noticable effect. since I buy a good 2,000 US dollars worth of books a year, which it looks as though only about 25% of the books I purchase come through them or one of their subsideries, it wont make a deep dent in my spending habbit, but possibly other friends who have more kids thus buy more of their books, will have some effect. It turns out I'm not the only person who is wholey annoyed with them, some of the un-abridged books in question, which I must tell you are current fiction and paperbacks and only a few hundred pages to boot are selling for hundreds of dollars a peice on Ebay!

but anyway, does that answer the questions?

so if I take 9th as publisher, and 3rd as open enemy? or since thye tend ot be comepletely oblivious maybe I should take 12th or 8th from ninth as the opposition? and 10th as their money? or 2nd house?
