Hi all,
I would appreciate help interpreting this chart. I asked the question, "Will I get the job" on April 15, 2007 at 1:53 pm in St Louis, Missouri (6:53 UT time). Representing, me, the querent, I have the Sun in Aries, which is exalted. I used the 10th house for quesited, as it is a professional job and would advance my career significantly if I were to get it. The MC is in Taurus, so it is represented by Venus, which is residing in the sign of Gemini in the tenth house.

I see no aspects between the Sun and Venus, but the Moon is sextile Venus in an applying aspect. Saturn is stationary direct in the 1st house and it is quintile Venus in an apply aspect.

I would say the answer to the question is "yes" but I'm not sure as to how to interpret Saturn's role in the chart.

How did I do with my interpretation. Any help would be appreciate. My interview is to occur on June 5th.

The interpretation of this horary requires finer level of judgement and experience, which i dont have yet. Personally i would not like to have this horary in my case if i have applied for promotion. I will try my best to identify the different factors in this horary and balance them.

-The angles are fixed--Indicates status quo or matter proceeding at snails speed to the point of despair when the heart wants to speed up the process.

-The Saturn in first house and conjuncts ascendant--Worries and delays. Now Saturn is not a thing welcome in horary. A dignified saturn is good thing but this Saturn is peregrine and is almost Stationary, highlighting its issues--and peregrine Saturn has no optimistic topics at hand to discuss.

-The Jupiter which is Rx is still slow.

-There is no emplacement--Meaning Lord of 10th in First house or Lord of First house in 10th house--I am using Regiomontanus but angles remain same in any system of houses used.

-Venus--signifier of Quesited has received Sun in his face but is not in an aspect.

-Venus doesnt receive Moon in any of her dignities.

-Moon is almost in 9th house, peregrine and her dispositor (Mars which also happens to be her friend in astrology) is dignified but effectively in 8th. (no aspects between them). So, the Moon is not strong.

-The good thing is that MC is a place where Moon is exalted and Moon is applying by sextile (i wished to have trine in this case) to Venus.

-Venus is applying square to Mars, which happens to be End of Matter and dispositor of Moon. Venus receives Mars in her Exaltation and term.

-Sun, Moon and Venus are aspecting Ascendant by Sign.

The Outcome? (let me balance)

It would require an effort or Mercury Rx to get this job or promotion. There would be problems.

A way out. Some friend?. Dont see any.

Since your Lord of Ascendant is dignified and in the house of joy (but cadent) which means that you are suitable in all repsects for the job or promotion and fulfill the criteria and your POF is in 12th house and North Node in 8th why dont you spread the news in a diplomatic way (at the place where you have applied) that you are interested in Astrology and talk about the negative effects of comming Mercury retrograde that it has negative impact on communications, decisions, Marriages etc. I would have done in Pakistan in similar sort of situation with a similar kind of horary.

The end of Matter of this horary, is dignified Mars in 8th who receives Sun (L1) and Moon in two of his dignities.

Hi Maddie,

I'm afraid I don't share your optimism about this chart - here's my thinking:

First up, you are a strong candidate for the job. Sun in Aries is well-dignified, showing you have the skills you need etc. However, L1 is cadent, indicating you are not in a position of power over this situation, and perhaps indicating you are lacking the opportunity to show off all your skills.

The negative reception bothers me - from this chart I would say you don't like this new job. (L1, your thinking being, and Moon, your emotional being, in detriment of L10).

There is an applying aspect from the Moon to L10, but the negative reception indicates nothing will come of it. The Moon applies to sextile L10, but does not then translate the light to L1. Something will happen easily with this job (sextile shows something happening easily), but I strongly doubt it will be a positive outcome. Perhaps you will easily get through the first stages of the interview and selection process, but ultimately nothing will come of it.

Also - the quality of this job is not great, in the first place. L10 is peregrine and in no dignities of L1, showing that in itself the job is not of great quality, and also that it will be bearable, but not particularly enjoyable. The job seems so-so, and you seem to dislike it anyway.

Saturn in the 1st can show general fears and worries etc, as STJ said. I think overall it's just another indication that although you are a strong candidate, you are just not able to manifest your strength at this time.

Also, be aware of Neptune sitting on the 7th cusp. This indicates you are not seeing the situation clearly - "rose-tinted glasses" is a key phrase Perhaps you are being overly optimistic about this job's prospects.

Overall I would say you won't get this job, and if you do, you won't enjoy it... But not to worry - you are clearly a strong candidate with all the skills you need (perhaps a little overqualified for this particular job in any case?), and it can only be a matter of time before something better comes up, that will suit you better.

First of all -- thank you for your thorough and thoughtful replies. I feel blessed that you both took the time to answer me in such depth.

I really enjoyed reading your replies and learned alot from both of them.

As to my situation, I must say that I have gone on many interviews and have not been able to secure a full time job. I have been working as an independent consultant for many, many years and am trying to make the transition to joining a company and have found it very difficult. I have opened my search to include relocating to a new city, as where I live now has limited opportunities.

I agree that I do feel qualified for the job. I don't know much about this company as it is out of town and I found it on the internet ( I have no friends/colleagues that know about it). I asked the horary because it takes a lot of energy and time to travel for an interview and to be rejected, but I suppose that I must do that at the moment.

I was hoping the horary could not only give me an indication of my chances for the job, but also if I could do something to improve my chances. But you both seem to indicate that this is not a great job and that even if I were to get it, I wouldn't be happy. I am not the type to take a job (especially one that I would have to move for) where I know that I wouldn't be happy.

Since I have been looking for a job for over a year ( and in general not happy with my career direction for several) is there a way to ask a horary in order to get a better sense of where I should focus my job seeking efforts? Any advice in this area would be greatly appreciate.d

If you feel that taking up a salaried job would boost the resume or your professional skills/future then it doesnt matter if the beginning is a humble one. Of all the biographies i read of great/famous people, i found one thing common, their beginnings were either humble or troubled.

I dont know if i am doing it right to use the same chart and see which part of country would be more beneficial for obtaining estate or fortune or a good career.

Lord of 2nd house is Mercury and is in 9th house---So, a place South West from the place where horary was cast. Since the Mercury is in 8th degree . Draw a line on map from your place and stretch this line South West to the end of the country in which your are living. One fourth distance is the place.


Mercury is also in 9th house. Foreign Journies, Publishing, Lawyers etc. Mercury also rules some foreign countries. Like

Jupiter is Lord of 8th house so, i havent used him either.
