Can you give me some opinions on a travel horary? This was cast on www.horoscopewithin.com at 9:34 am on Monday, July 16, 2007 in Washington, DC? I am asking about some travel that I would like to do next year in 2008.

Background

For the past decade, I've been trying to set aside three months of time to travel to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, and possibly to Russia for two or three weeks. I have never been able to make it happen. Now, I am getting more and more determined to make it happen, because I am 37 and tired of deferring my dreams. It would most likely mean quitting a job, and having to find another one when I return. It would also mean saving money scrupulously for a year, which has always been hard for me to do.

This isn't a question of will or determination, however. I want to make this happen, and I'm pretty good at making things happen if I really set my mind to it. It is rather unusual to do this at my age in the States, however. Our Puritan work ethic looks askance at folks over 30 who aren't sufficiently dedicated to their jobs.

Horary

The first thing that I noticed about this horary is that Mercury, my significator, is in great shape, but the Moon looks like it is about to die.

Mercury is at 4 deg Cancer (the Moon's natural sign) in the 10th house, which is ruled by Gemini. It is about to cross over into the 11th house of hopes and dreams. It is applying to a sextile with the ASC at 6 deg Virgo. It is separating from a sextile with Venus at 0 deg Virgo, but it is approaching an inconjunct with Jupiter (significator of the destination) at 10 deg Sag on the Descendent.

Jupiter is in its own sign and angular, 8 degrees away from the Descendent. I'm a little confused about the meaning of a travel significator in the 4th house of staying at home, however.

OTOH, my poor Moon is on its last gasp as a significator. It is in 19 deg Leo in the 12th house, approaching a conjunction with Saturn at 24 deg Leo, and an opposition with Neptune at 21 deg Aquarius in the 6th house of daily responsibility. IMO, it is too far away from its separating trine with Jupiter at 10 deg Sag to get any help there (but how do others interpret this?)


My Thoughts

I think the Moon's approach to Saturn suggests my awareness of time passing, and my desire to do this before I get too old to really enjoy it. But in traditional astrology, a Moon this badly corrupted by Saturn and Neptune needs a mercy bullet. Neptune certainly weakens the dream in some way.

The other thing I notice is that Mars (15 deg Taurus) is in the 9th house of long distance travel. Mars is normally the significator of accidents and injuries, or other rotten luck in connection with travel. Typically, one doesn't want to see it in the 9th house in a travel horary. The Moon (19 deg Leo) is separating from a square with Mars, which sort of suggests that it is getting it "up the butt" three ways - from Saturn, Neptune, and Mars.


Question

How does one make an overall judgement in this situation? Is this horary saying that I'll do a shorter trip, or is the devastated Moon yelling, "forget it, baby"?

A quick look.

-The angles of this horary are mutable. Twists and turns. But suitable for a kind of question which you have asked. The query i.e travel relates to next year and depends upon availability of money.

-POF of this horary is money, as you mentioned in your post that the main problem is money. POF is in 2nd house and his dispositor Venus is in the sign of her fall and most importantly is getting slower day by day. It would turn retrograde in few days.

-Moon is highly unfortunate. She is cadent and separates from a detrimented infortune i.e Mars in 9H with a square and is applying by a conjunction to detrimented greater infortune Saturn in 12H. However, Saturn is in his house of joy. Moon is effectively beseiged by malefics as per aspects. The dispositor of Moon is Sun in Cancer. No aspect. Moon has been hindered to work, if any, for this horary.

-This query is not re-location, neither I would class it as a wish because the back ground information is in detail and you have explained yourself. So, the query is 1-9 horary.

-Mercury L1 is conjunct 11H. Mars (L9) is in detriment in 9H of long travels. Mars is not in aspect with Mercury (within moiety of orbs). However, Moon separates from Mars as I discussed above.

In view of the above, I am sorry that my findings are pessimistic. Lets wait for input from other members. Maybe I am missing something.

Thanks for taking a look at this for me, Gryffindor. You picked up on the location of Venus as 2nd House Lord, which I should have noticed, and didn't. Much appreciated.

I would still like to try to make it a reality next year - I would simply have to clear the slate of anything else I want to accomplish that costs money. We'll see. Does anyone else have any ideas?
