Ex's feelings?

1
A friend wanted to know if his ex-girlfriend still had any feelings for him.

16th July 2007, 11.54a.m., BST., Worcester, UK. Asendent 3 degrees Libra.

He is represented by Venus and the Moon, his ex by Mars. Mars is Essentially and Accidentally weak (in Detriment in the 8th. house). Venus or the Moon show no interest in Mars at all, Venus being ruled by Mercury, and also in the Exaltation and Terms of Mercury. Venus is also in Fall.

Mars however is ruled by Venus and Exalts the Moon, suggesting that she is still besotted with the querent. As Mars is weak though, it would seem she is not in a position to do anything about her strong feelings for the querent. And as Venus and the Moon show no interest in Mars, it would seem that nothing will come of this situation.

Any other observations would be welcome! :D

Hi,

The position of Mars is interesting. In the sign of Lord 1 and exaltation of the Moon I would agree she still has feelings for the querent. However, Mars is in the 8th house - in the sign of Venus but not the one which is rising, if you see what I mean. This would indicate it is less that she loves the querent for who he is than she still loves the querent because she is miserable - Mars in detriment and weakly placed in the chart, as you pointed out. So maybe your friend should go easy on this girl and just leave her alone to recover, rather than keep in touch with her. She's probably still very cut up about him.

Hi Keren,

thanks for your reply. Good point! I had wondered why she was in the sign of Lord 1 yet in a different sign to the one rising. Your observation makes good sense, thanks for pointing it out! I relayed your point to him and he concurred with your judgement that she was probably still only interested in him because of her current miserable state, rather than any real affection for him as a person.

Fortunately I know the querent, and although the chart shows he has no interest in his ex nevertheless he doesn't want to hurt her, so will leave her to recover in her own time.

Hi Harlequin---

I was wondering if that was a trivial question. Like would the answer matter to Querent? Let us say that the answer is yes and Ex does have feeling. Would that affect his future plans? etc. I refer to Deborah Houlding article the link is http://www.skyscript.co.uk/horary_questions.html

And now back to the horary. You can tell the Querent that s/he can thank God, that the relationships is over and refrain from getting back and trying to seek help from horary, cause of following reasons---

-The angles are Cardinal.

-The POF is in second house and disposed by Venus in fall.

-Moon is unfortunate as she has been beseiged by Malefics. She separates from detrimented Mars with square in 8H being L3, L7 and L8 and she conjoins detrimented Saturn in 11H being L4 and L5.
Since it is day time chart, i would say that Moon separates from L7 and L8 and applies to L5.

-It is better to avoid person who has his/her significator which is in detriment. As, detriment is bad than fall. And has more potential of causing harm.

Excellent point. I think this question should have been rejected. How does it help him and his life to know? We sometimes flatter ourselves in knowing there is someone suffering and pining away over us. I see this question as ego sweets ? and 'Peeping Tom' astrology. [Non-native English speakers: That?s just an expression. It has nothing to do with our Tom and his astrological method!]

Hi Gryffindor,

thanks for taking the time to respond, much appreciated!

I'm afraid I don't subscribe to the idea that a question can be trivial. It meant enough to the querent for him to ask the question, so it means something to him, and who am I to tell him that his question is trivial?

As for the Horary, forgive me but I don't follow your points about the angles being cardinal, or the PoF being disposed by Venus in Fall. Could you elucidate?

However I do take your point about engaging with someone whose significator is a malefic in detriment. If it were me I'd be running as fast as I could in the opposite direction!

Well. You have to read the article. The astrologer is the one who accepts a query. You can reject, if you feel the query is trivial, and its our duty to ascertain the nature of any question.

As for the Horary, forgive me but I don't follow your points about the angles being cardinal, or the PoF being disposed by Venus in Fall. Could you elucidate?
Surely.

Angles are the most important points in a chart. They dont over rule a judgment but act as a back ground theme which should be kept in mind.

Cardinal---Change, action etc
Fixed--Stability , slowness or dragging of a situation.
Mutable--Twists and turns, ups and downs, making up a decision and then chnaging it bit and then again reverting back to original one.

Though POF primarily relates to wealth etc but in my personal horaries, i saw a recurring point. In fact POF of a particular horary is chest of treasure or a crux point which has to be considered. In overall analysis, it has to be kept in mind. Like in this horary, it is positioned in 2H and is disposed by Venus in her fall. Again it acts as a background theme.

Then i consider the overall strenght or otherwise of Moon. In some horaries, you want Moon to be working. In some you dont want her working (ex fugitive, thief etc etc)

Similarly, any planet at a stationing degree is a most important point in any horary, whether it is a major significator or not it does not matter. Its house position and his Lord ship has to be integrated in over all analysis.

I hope i have explained my modus opernadi..Angles, POF, Moon and Stationing planets.

The reason i not explained in first instance, was that i am not astrologer of this particular horary and can only render a second opinion or point or some ommission etc. :)

Hi Gryffindor,

I agree that it's our duty to ascertain the nature of the question, but not our duty to judge whether it's trivial or not. What might seem trivial to us could be of monumental importance to the querent.

thanks for explaining the points I raised, very interesting insight into your modus operandi! :D
