Did I pass the exam?

1
Well I've given up on coming to any firm conclusion on this chart and hope that some people here might have a better feel for it. Maybe I am not being objective despite my best efforts.

Background
I asked this question shortly after completing a state bar exam (for law). The exams took place over two days, The first day is the essays portion which are graded by individuals by hand. The second day of the exam is multiple choice questions which are read by optical scanner.

Once all grading is completed, the two exams, are then combined and scaled and you must get a minimum of 140 to pass. If someone comes within a few points of passing and fails, their exam is automatically re-graded. No one is told about this though and everyone gets results at same time. The result is strictly pass/fail.

I am already licensed in another state (many years ago) and practiced for several years before I moved to my current state here and worked with my husband in his business for several years. I later decided to get licensed in this state, but because I was away from practice for several years, I had to take this state's exam rather than it being waived for me. So that is the background which may help explain what's going on in the chart (returning to a former profession etc.)

Question was asked on:
July 25, 2007 at 5:51 EDT PM at Roanoke, Virginia, USA.

Question: "After exam is combined, scored and scaled, will I pass?"

I got Sag. rising 22:37 on Asc. I used Koch house system on the chart but have also looked at it using Regi method since I know many here use that method. It matters not to me which house system you use.

I see good and bad and cannot come to a conclusion.

Jupiter is with Moon in the 12th and Retro. This describes my feelings at time of asking. I was absolutely clueless as to whether I passed or not and feared I may have failed. In reality I already had probably passed or failed, I just didn't know which.

The moon has competed aspects with all of the relevant houses, rulers 9th Sun, ruler 10th Venus and Jupiter. This shows I think, that the action leading up to question has now passed. Also, the fact that the moon is just passing its conjunction with Jupiter shows how recent the activity was at time of question and being in the 12th I had probably already passed or failed but just did not (do not) know which.

Jupiter is conjoined with Antares. :-sk I had trouble hearing half the time of test due to ringing in my ears which I believe is result of a needed wisdom tooth extraction. Antares can indicate hearing problems as it does with vision. I've also read it indicates obsession and I think I 've obsessed about this question way too much ! :lala

The Sun is ruler of 9th house which rules the law and university level examinations and it trines Jupiter. Mercury, is co-ruler and makes no aspect to Jupiter or Moon. Uranus however collects the light between Mercury's trine and Moon's square to it and brings the two significators together. This square from Moon to Uranus is concerning to me but I see that Uranus is in mutual reception with Neptune so maybe not all hope is lost since the moon also sextiles Uranus by the mutual reception. The third house rules letters, reports, communciations, etc. so I believe this is the house to look to in determining the outcome or score though I've also read that it is the 10th house. I am not sure about this??

The 3rd house however does seem to show two scores, Neptune and Uranus, and being in mutual reception could be an indication of the combining and scaling of the two scores to determine if it makes the mininum required for a pass score ? Though Moon Sq Uranus, it also Sextiles Uranus by mutual reception, and does the same with Neptune again showing of the two scores being worked together for one combined result??

Mercury, Co-Ruler of 9th (nor Moon or Jupiter) makes any aspect with Venus athough Mercury is in three levels of mixed reception of dignities with Venus. Venus is badly placed and getting ready to go retro and conjoin with Saturn. Because Venus was so weak here, I took Saturn as the Almuten of the 10th house - do you do this with horaries?. The moon's last aspects is a trine to Saturn and a conjunction with Pluto. Pluto rules the 11th and 12th so I could take this to be "the thing hoped for" (11th) or the thing that disappoints (12th).

This chart seems capable of going either way! Venus, benefic in 9th = good but badly placed and ready to go retro and conjoin w/Saturn = Bad, Moon SQ to Uranus = Bad. Venus trine almost exact P.Fortune in end of matter 4th = good , Good but how important is this? North node in 3rd good but then South node in 9th bad. Moon trine Saturn = good. Moon's last aspect to Pluto - ?? who knows? Looking at the chart using Regi house system doesn't really change things much. All it does is loses the Sun as co-ruler of 9th which was trining ruler 1st.

Any help here would be appreciated. I will know the results sometime in October. Results are mailed out the same day they are posted on internet. So I should find out online sometime between the 12th and 15th of October.

Am I on track at all here? Which way does it lean?

Bar passage?

Having recently passed a bar exam myself, first, let me say, I understand the stress you're under!

But my first instinct is that if the Moon is void of course in Sag (and now I can't remember) and just passed a conjunction to Jupiter, ruler of the law, I would say the chart is telling you that you've passed and have nothing to worry about.

Generally, since we don't use the outer planets in horary, we wouldn't consider Uranus at least, but as you said, it is in reception with Neptune and I would say that Uranus rules the scanned portion of the test (the dreaded "multi-state"). And I'd say that Neptune must then rule the essay portion of the test.

Does this particular state combine the two scores? Or is there a minimum score you must get on each portion of the test? If so, the mutual reception might refer to the two scores, that combined, will give you a passing score.

In any case, good luck!

Ahh, you KNOW how it is then! Congrats on your passing.
How I wish the moon had been VOC. I have seen the VOC moon work that way more often than not. No, unfortunately the Moon was not VOC. After separating from conjunction with Jupiter it sextiled MC, SQ Uranus, Sextiled Neptune, Conjucted Asc, Trined Saturn and then Trined Pluto.

That is what I thought with regard to Uranus. Being that Uranus rules electricity and modern devices and such that it would represent the multi state portion since it is read by scanner, with Neptune representing the essay portion and the two working together to make for one score.

This state does combine the two and then you must get scaled score of 140 min.

If Uranus & Neptune are the two tests, in the 2nd and 3rd houses in mutual reception, then getting a final outcome is difficult to see. Mercury, naturual ruler of reports (and here co-ruler of 9th), is angular in 7th in cancer but in mixed reception of dignities with Venus but no aspect with Venus. It is Trining Uranus (and Neptune by MR).

But Uranus and Neptune are both retrograde (as is L1 Jupiter). After reading Graeme Tobyn's article at this site about retro planets "returning the light" to the applying planet - in my case, Moon and Mercury - I am not sure how to read that. Does it mean, returning the light = returning a Loss?? Not only would it be a big disappointment, but it was expensive with 4 nights of lodging, meals etc.! I would really hate to have to do it again.

Hi RC,
After separating from conjunction with Jupiter it sextiled MC, SQ Uranus, Sextiled Neptune, Conjucted Asc, Trined Saturn and then Trined Pluto.
I would totally disregard the outer planets, but that's just my method. Since the Moon's next aspect is to sextile the MC and then conjunct the ASC, I think this is a suggestion that you did pass it, since a sextile is a favourable aspect. A trine might have meant you passed easily, and perhaps the sextile means you did well enough, but not brilliantly.

So we wait until October now to get your results and feedback, yes? :)

Hi Gunhilde:
I hope you're right! Waiting is the hard part tho. I feel I can't move on with things - like I'm in limbo. And I SHOULD be studying for a 3rd test which is given in Nov. which is another requirement for licensing. It's a much easier test tho. (Of course it won't be easy if I don't get on it :lala )

I made a mistake up there in the quote you gave. The moon's last aspect was conjunction to Pluto - not trine.

I'm not sure how much attention to give to the Antiscia points, but looking in a bi-wheel, I see that moon's last aspect is to trine Venus Antiscia point in the 4th house and Venus is ruler of the MC. Also interesting is ruler of 3rd Uranus - its Antiscia point conjoins the radix MC. I saw in Yasha's post about the van, that the Antiscia points can indicate something hidden. (like my pass/fail status??)

Looking at this chart in comparison with my Natal looks more favorable. Jupiter is moving in on my natal chart's MC which is at 18 Sag. and my Asc. is in 10 Pisces with Uranus on it. I didn't start getting the idea to take the bar and get licensed here until Uranus moved in on my ascendant which seemed to push me into it.
