Hi folks,

I could use some input on yet another question from my nursing school saga, rather urgently if at all possible!

Background:

I have provisionally accepted a p/t job as a 'patient sitter' in a local hospital. One of the perks of working for the hospitals is that they all have agreements with the three or four local nursing schools, wherein they will pay the tuition for your nursing training if you commit to working for them (the hospital, that is) for two or three years after graduation. Unlike the accelerated course in my last query, these consortium courses through the hospitals are 20 months instead of 14, and they get you an Associate's Degree instead of a BSN. (I must mention that the pay difference between an ADN and a BSN is nominal, the main difference is in the letters behind your name).

As I may have mentioned in my previous nursing school query, I have just begun a gruelling class schedule (four classes: Anatomy/Physiology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and a Psych development class). I am having trouble with the workload (discipline, mostly) and am questioning whether it wouldn't be prudent to drop one of the courses this semester so I have a brain left at the end of the year.

However, if I wanted to get into the accelerated programme I would *have* to complete all four classes before December.

So I have a conundrum. Drop a class and go for the longer hospital-based course, or stick it out and go for the accelerated.

My horary question, however, was this:

Should I do the hospital-based course [instead of aiming for the accelerated one]? (This question holds all the implicit 'other' information in it.)

Okay, I'm Venus, retrograde. I note that Spica rises, a nice boost.

I assume that I would still take the 9th for the course, since it's higher education, regardless of the fact that it's work-based.

The 9th significator, Mercury, is in dignity, but Under the Beams still, placed in the 11th (or possibly 12th if we use the 5 degree rule).

POF sits in the 9th; its dispositor is: Mercury.

The 10th ruler, my job itself, is the Moon, dignified and angular. Mercury sextiles the 10th angle, but itself is in a separating square to POF. But since the Moon is also me, why is it in the 7th?

As Venus, I am retrograding away from a sextile to the ASC; does this mean that my dithering is of no benefit to me?

The Moon's next aspect is to trine the Sun; the Sun is the 11th ruler so what I'm assuming is some link between the job (rather than the course), or perhaps my goals, and my hopes. But this seems to be a tenuous description.

Venus has passed a sextile to POF and will perfect a sextile with Mars. Mars rules my 2nd house (and yes, I am totally strapped for cash at the moment) and the 7th house. What, in this context, does the 7th ruler signify? That I will please my husband more by taking the longer course?

Oh, stuck, stuck, stuck. I need to decide by Monday whether to drop a class (which will effectively commit me to the longer nursing school pathway), and I can't make sense of this chart!

Oh, help! Any better insights, anyone?

The 7th house also rules affairs entered into with another person or *group* such as a contractual deal. (Ivey Jacobson's Simplied Horary). So this makes perfect sense that your co-ruler is in the 7th entering a contractual arrangement regarding your education in exchange for work (10th). Moon also represents the employer, in 7th of contracts (contractual deal with employer) and is related to education, as shown by the trine to the education (Mercury - ruler 9th).

Your struggle with the indecision here is shown by the square to your ruler in the 10th retrograde and then Neptune. (changing your mind/plans). Moon squares venus then immediately thereafter squares neptune. Neptune is in the 4th the final outcome, and Neptune here rules the 6th house of public service and is also related to health care.

It looks like you may do this as Venus, your ruler is retro and does not complete a trine to Jupiter which here represents the 3rd house of classes/schooling. This refranation can represent a "withdrawal" from some action (Ivey Jacobson). So it does appear that you are or will be withdrawing from some school related activity such as classes or courses that you have already undertaken. I seem to remember that was an issue in that last question as well that I had seen and asked Deb about. Also the moon being fixed in the 7th and exalted and trining Mercury, it looks as though this action will perhaps take place with little effort.

Whether it is the decision you *should* make is harder to say. I'll ponder it some more and if I come up with anything more will let you know.

On re-looking at your other question you had asked about the nursing program, I am inclined to say you should probably accept this new opportunity.

Reason being, that last chart had 29' on the 6th house which rules health care and public assistance. That makes sense since the program was to give you public assistance (pay for your education) in exchange for your work. However, as you know the 29th degree is unfortunate and said to indicate something to weep about - (or maybe just something disappointing?) The 6th in that question would also be the 4th or end of matter for applications (3rd house). And I had noticed before when I looked at that question, Venus was within a wide orb of going Square Jupiter, your ruler but then never completes it but goes retrograde back into Virgo, to conjunct Saturn. It was also situated in between south node (saturnian in nature) and Saturn.

But there were good things in there: Moon's last aspect was reacting to a recently presented opportunity - the sextile to Venus - and then moon moved into a good position in its own sign of cancer and was conjoining Mercury of study. It then gets a new opportunity (sextile to Mars) ruler of end of matter 4th and makes a sudden change in the trine to Uranus of change in the 3rd - which also rules classes & study.

It ends its aspect with a conjunction with the Sun which also would indicate a new plan.

I think I may have found a 'middle path' for the time being, but I'll keep you posted. Really, I just want an easy life!
