I have a question I've not seen addressed.

I know the astrologer is the 7th house and there's the warning about Saturn in the 7th etc. But if you don't see Saturn in the 7th, what is the house ruling their interpretation of a horary question they might answer for you?

For example, if you wanted to ask, "Is X's reading correct?" I'm not sure if that would be a simple 3rd house (reports) matter or some other house.

What house would you use for that? I'm sure we've all wondered that at times.

I think it is that simple. Readings are governed by the 3rd house - but 3rd from 7th not the radical 3rd - it is X's readings not yours. 3rd from 7th = 9th, the universal house of wisdom, astrology...

So, we look at the 7th for X, his readings: the 3rd of 7th which is radical 9th (astrology) - which is the astrological reading YOU are receiving i.e. his readings (3rd of 7th) = your astrology (radical 9th)

That's what I thought but wasn't sure if you turned the chart or not.

You might try Lilly's rules (they are pretty simple) for "Is the Rumour True?"

Lilly used this question for any information coming through a third party, not just for what we would consider "gossip." He lived at the time of England's Civil War; in any war, any news or information is suspect due to the widespread use of propoganda or disinformation.

To use this rule, you need to know the time you first heard the information (first read the astrologer's report, in this case). Draw a chart for this time.

From Lilly's _Christian Astrology_:

"Of Reports, Newes, Intelligence, or Feares, whether true
or false, or in what sense its best to take them?
Whether they signifie good or evill?

The manner of understanding this Question, and taking it in its proper sense, is diversly related by the Ancients; for some would make these like Questions to belong to the 5th house; others, to certaine Lords of triplicities, having dominion in the signs ascending or decending on the Cuspes of the 3rd or 5th House. That which I have found true by experience (in our woefull late sad times of Warre) was this; that if I found the Moon in the Ascendant, 10th, 11th, or 3rd House, separated by a benevolent aspect from any Planet (be he Lord of what House soever) and then applying by Trine or Sextile or Conjunction to the Lord of the Ascendant; I say, I did finde the report or rumour true, but alwayes tending to the good of the Parliment, let the report be good or ill; but if at the time of erecting the Figure, the Moon applyed to the Lord of the 7th by any good aspect, I was sure we had the worst, and our enemies the victory:

Thank you for this. This is quite a coincidence. Last night I was reading Lilly's chart where the querent wanted to know if the government was under attack.

What is so interesting too, is that a chart I did on someone's reading of a chart for me, has many of the same points Lilly raised in his analysis of that man's chart which involved the 10th (the government) and the 1st, for the seat of the government (parliment). I had north node on my 1st as that man did on his ASC and Mars opposing 10th, whereas that man had Mars conjoining ASC. And there were other similiarites as well which all showed the rumour (in my case report or reading) to be untrue.

What a hoot.
