Here's a G'ud One for you all !! 1 by Yikkes! Hi Folks, RE : Moon transits but especially considering the Phase of the Moon. I've got a friend with Capricorn in the 4th. I've noticed that when the Moon transits her 4th house she is quite unsettled. Of course Moon is in detriment in Capricorn. I wonder whether the phase of the Moon changes this state of unsettledness? ie when it's a full Moon passing thru Capricorn will the feelings be intensified? I think there will be a change but wondering which phases will be the most dramatic. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ?! H. Yikkes! Quote Sat Sep 22, 2007 10:42 am

I usually don?t care for modern psychological meanings attached to the houses, but the modern idea of the 4th house as a hidden and deeply private, personal region of the mind does seem workable. The passage of the Moon through that house could kick up some psychological dust, especially with a Moon in detriment in Capricorn. There probably need to be natal aspects to the Moon in order for a heightened sensitivity to the stimulus. We can naturally guess that a transiting Full Moon in Capricorn conjoining the natal Moon would be most active. But I don?t know ? for years I?ve noticed that New Moons have a strange effect on people. They can seem disoriented, lost and just weird. In your friend?s case a Cancer new Moon would be in domicile (Cancer), elevated and angular in the chart, and opposed the natal Moon. That might cause some bubbles to rise to the surface. I wonder (guessing here) if the Cancer New Moon would produce more outward effects than the Full Moon because it comes from the 10th house ? the house of actions in the outer world. I?m tempted to think of the Moon in that case reaching down to the natal Moon opposite at the bottom of the chart and drawing out and bringing up some of those buried 4th house images and memories and putting them out into the world. Just a thought ? but I?m getting away from your original observation of the Moon transiting the natal 4th house. It could be interesting to make a study of her and the effect of the Moon?s phases from the different signs through the year. But the phases will sometimes be in a weak relationship to the natal Moon and they will occur in different houses: Sagittarius Full Moons would be semi-sextile the natal Moon in Capricorn. (However, if her natal Moon is in late Capricorn a Full Moon in early Sagittarius could make a stronger semi-square aspect.) In other signs the aspect would be a so-so quincunx or boring sextile. Another way of looking at it (probably what you had in mind ? it took me long enough) is to always stay with the 4th and see what phase the Moon is in as it transits the natal 4th. It could be worthwhile spending a year studying just the simple factors of whether it is a waxing or waning Moon, or new, full, 3rd or 4th quarter when it conjoins the natal Moon. Of course, if she becomes very hairy and runs through the forest at the Full Moon then you really are dealing with a larger issue. Quote Sun Sep 23, 2007 2:14 am
