Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is something usually discussed on here, but I am keen to look at the first meeting chart of when I recently met the guy I am dating. Can't this be interpreted in a similar way to a horary chart? In any case I think it is worth a look.

Chart drawn for 31st August 2007 19:10, London, UK.

Aquarius rises, and Saturn significator in 29deg46 of Leo - nearly!-in Virgo, in 7th house.
7th house ruler Sun located in 7th of Virgo along with Mercury, and Venus is conjunct the DC in Leo. So all in all quite a populated 7th house, although Saturn's presence there isn't exactly desirable.. Mercury, Sun and Venus maybe help to mitigate this though?

Moon in 2nd in Aries trine Saturn and Venus. 2nd house emphasises financial concerns and I think this could make sense in a way, as I am moving away from London next week and if this relationship is to continue there will be investment involved in travel, and of course emotionally, to make that distance commitment.

Also of note is Neptune conjunct Asc. Although not traditionally used in horary, I think this points to the very romantic and perhaps now idealised feelings we have for each other and how it can all work out wonderfully (but Saturn in 7th highlights realities of the distance relationship). It has so far been an extremely romantic time. This emphasised by Neptune opposing Venus on the DC.

Also of interest is Mars conjunct the IC, in Libra where it is in detriment. It is sextile Venus and opposed to Jupiter, which is conjunct the MC. Certainly an emphasis on planets on the angles! Mars in the 4th..disagreements about where "home" is? Maybe me going home causing problems. Strong Jupiter shows maybe that this relationship could tie in with our careers quite well - I will be travelling back to London with my work and he travels frequently too, or else parental support??

Venus is not in essential dignity but I am encouraged by the 7th house here. Moon not the best but communication (and trips back and forth)look good with a strong Mercury, and Venus ruling the 3rd conjunct the DC. Money will certainly be a consideration with the ruler of 5th (moon) in 2nd.

I would really appreciate your takes on how successful this first meeting chart shows the relationship to potentially be!

I would not put too much emphasis on the first meeting chart, as this chart shows the potential in the relationship at that time, rather than how it will definitely turn out. It can show the mood at the time you met, rather than the relationship itself. Interesting to have Neptune rising. Did you meet by chance or did you know him already? With Neptune I always advise to be wary. With Neptune things are never quite as they seem. Usually we are not seeing clearly, in whatever way. The positive expression of this is romance (pleasureable blurriness), negatively it is deceit or being misled or naive (unpleasant blurriness!!).

When setting up a Horary chart Regiomontanus House system is used.

Saturn is in the 7th house cautioning the Astrologer here - if the Astrologer proceeds to judge the chart their reputation is at stake.

The Nodes are @ 7 Pisces/Virgo and the Sun is @ 7 Virgo - there is something fated about this first meeting is about all I can say.

Neptune was not discovered until 1846 so was not included in the Ancients work. There is always an illusion around romance - thats just how it is and we see only what we wish to see. Neptune adds a vagueness to the first meeting and possibly confusion.

Travel time will not stop either of you if it is meant to be.
