Horary about Communication 1 by Leo-Poet Hi Folks: I have an interesting dilemma, and I asked the stars a question about it. I am not sure how to interpret certain things in the chart and would REALLY appreciate some input. Here is the background: I am currently in my final semester of a graduate program. The final semester is a one-on-one tutorial with the professor. About three weeks ago, I handed in two essays as part of an assignment. My teacher responded by email, saying that she "had read the essays and they were both quite good" (this is a direct quote). She went on to say that she was about to go off to a week-long conference and that she couldn't send detailed comments right away, although she did have things she wanted to say. She encouraged me "not to fret" about the essays. When she got back from the conference, she became ill. I got another email last Thursday saying that her comments were still not ready. Yesterday, I finally got her remarks. She found one of the essays barely passible and the other unacceptable; she wants me to rewrite it. Understandly, I am confused and pissed off. I don't see how she went from deeming both essays "quite good" to deciding they need additional work. So, I am wondering if I should point out the inconsistency of her comments, and ask her to explain, or just let the whole thing go. My question: "Should I let Barbara (teacher's name) know how I am feeling?" Data: Feb. 12, 2008, 8:52am EST, St. Augustine, Florida. AC 28.02 Pisces, MC 28.5 Sag, Moon 2.32 Taurus Regiomontanus houses. Of course, I wonder about the late degree rising. My natal Venus is at 28.56 Virgo, which puts it smack on the DC of the horary chart. Also, my solar return moon for this year is at 7.22 Gemini, which puts it smack on the Regio third house cusp and the Regio PoF. So, I do think this chart has something to tell me. To which house should I assign my professor? Initially, I had used L7 for her, because in the question I ask about her by name and we do have a one-on-one relationship. However, the relationship is not that of two equals. So, on second thought, I believe I may use L9 for her. Jupiter is both L1 and L9--which means that I would use the moon as my sig and Jupiter for her. Does this sound like the correct approach? Or should I stick with L7 for her? The moon as my sig, in her exaltation in Taurus, shows the strength of my feelings on this issue. Aries intercepted in the first house shows me trying to hold in my irritation. Sag on the ninth, ruled by Cap Jupiter, describes the teacher really well. She is a very well-respected editor who runs an academic publishing house, and also teaches at the university level (Cap Jupiter = a publishing authority, a demanding teacher). Jupiter is also quite elevated, in the 10th house, showing that she is the authority in this situation. My sig the moon eventually trines Jupiter--I think we will come to some kind of understanding. But I do not know to interpret the trine to Saturn, which happens before the moon trines Jupiter. An easily resolved difficulty? Revision of rules and expectations? How does Mercury fit into the picture? It is the natural ruler of writing and communication; it also rules the horary third of communication and the PoF. Mercury is dignified by term and in MR with Saturn, but retrograde. Does this mean that I will have to rewrite the essay no matter what? Or that the prof will change her mind and accept the essay after all? Or that should I hold my tongue and not say anything about how I feel? I could see all these as being possible interpretations. Does Acumen on the MC mean anything? The moon (my sig) is higher in essential dignity than Jupiter (her sig). I would think this would be really good for me--showing that I have the greatest ability, in this situation, to affect the outcome. Anyway, all thoughts appreciated. Thanks and peace to all. 2 by Gunhilde From a practical point of view, notwithstanding horary, you certainly have a right to know why, exactly, the professor changed her tune so radically, so I'd set up an appointment anyway. The late ascendant doesn't bar a judgment; it may mean that you already know the answer to the question. Since you and the prof both share Jupiter as a significator, I'd definitely take the Moon for you and let the prof keep Jupiter. You are about to approach the degree of your exaltation. Mercury Rx ruler as communication in this chart *may* mean you have to rewrite; it also may mean that you return to a previous conversation you'd had. I'd take that email of hers in to her office, and ask her about it. In any case, I wouldn't hold my tongue. You have written 'proof' that she said one thing, and she has rescinded it. You need to know why. It's your writing, after all. Good luck! GH Quote Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:55 pm
3 by Leo-Poet Thanks, Gunhilde. I really appreciate your input. To be honest, I change my mind everyday about what I want to do. I guess that's another indicator of Mercury Rx at work!! I have also wondered about the role of reception in this chart. With her significator in Capricorn, she is in the detriment of my significator, that moon--and that shows how I really dislike what she has done! Neither the moon nor Jupiter receive one another, even though they are moving towards a trine. Her third house (the eleventh house of the radical chart--11 is third of the ninth) is ruled by Saturn. Like the ruler of my third, Saturn is retrograde. And the ruler of my third is Mercury, which happens to be in mutual reception with Saturn. My tutorial with this prof is, for now, taking place entirely via correspondance--we are not having face-to-face meetings (she's in Texas and I'm in Florida). So, I think the third house rulers are meaningful here. Would you say it is fair to assume that the MR between Saturn and Mercury indicates coming to a meeting of the minds?
