I am playing with another date now - 7th April, 12.05. (Salisbury UK). Nice Taurus new moon, but the final aspect is square to Neptune. Venus at the MC is cool, but Jupiter is a tad too far from the 7th for my liking. Retrograde saturn still rules the decendant, though perhaps it could be counted as a (separating) quintile? Ok, I know, quintiles don't count, and neither do separating aspects :-( Uranus is nicely out of the way, as is Mars. This moon aspects positively with the woman's Jupiter and the man's Venus.

Thoughts?

I?ll try it again. This is all theoretical; I have no experience with wedding elections (or getting married).

I remember reading somewhere that planets were considered quite strong when emerging from under the Sun?s beams at around 18 degrees orb. Moon exalted in Taurus is 18 degrees from the exalted Sun in Aries. I like the new spring-like beginning shown by the exalted lights. Put the exalted Sun at the MC or in the 9th, the house of the Sun?s joy. Putting Leo on the Asc. gives the staying power of a Fixed sign. The Sun having dignity by exaltation, triplicity and face makes for a powerful Ascendant ruler.

I?m looking at 1:15 ? 1:25 pm for:
-Leo Asc.
-Sun at MC.
-The Moon square Asc.-Desc. is fading away, and Sun trine Asc.-Desc. is applying.
-Venus is in detriment in Aries? so the cadent ninth might weaken any tendency toward troublemaking.
-Jupiter is in fall, so being in the cadent 6th might weaken his chances of causing problems [Anyone ? please correct me if I?m seeing that incorrectly!]. Mars is applying opposition Jupiter; looks to me like another reason to place Jupiter in a cadent house. The Sun-Jupiter square could produce problems, but once again a cadent Jupiter would limit his ability to excess or lack of moderation [right?]


Not so important:

I like Fixed diurnal Aquarius on the 7th more than Cardinal nocturnal Capricorn. Not only does Aquarius seem more conducive to a pleasant marriage, but also the sign sect matches the chart sect (diurnal).

Neptune in the 7th? Doesn?t bother me. It?s not badly aspecting anything; in fact @ 1:30 it?s in a partile trine to the IC ? home could be quite pleasant. I don?t know how much importance to give to the fact that the Moon?s last aspect is to Neptune. At the time it?s currently not within orb of aspect. I?m not sure how I feel about going all the way out to the end of the Moon?s sign in search of aspects. I know it?s often done; I just don?t know how I feel about it. I tend to think that the aspects the Moon is currently involved with (through orb) are the most important.

I?m not wild about the Moon?s next aspect being to Mars, but it?s a sextile ? which I don?t think is nearly as free-flow and powerful as a trine ? and Mars is cadent. Sextiles seem to need more intention behind them for activation. Moon?s last aspect was a trine to Saturn and not the opposition of the 1st chart, so there?s less feeling of something ugly being brought to Mars ? just old peregrine retrograde lost Saturn. (Have I described the groom? )

After 1:30 the Sun is in the 9th, which is cadent, but it?s the house of the Sun?s joy. In fact, maybe the 9th makes the Sun less brash and potentially domineering than in the 10th. So until 1:45 or so still looks good. If you make it much later Mars in fall leaves the cadent 12th, gains a lot of strength in the 11th and becomes more of a troublemaker.

At this point I?m (theoretically) all for April 7, 1:15 ? 1:45 pm. Merely the powerful lights and Leo Ascendant look sufficient.

Ok. Yes, that is a Sun-Mars-Jupiter T- square and the Sun is conjunct Mars/Jupiter [their midpoint] with an orb of 48 minutes. If Mars and Jupiter are kept cadent and the Sun is placed in its Joy in the cadent 9th it really shouldn?t be so bad. In every life a little rain must fall anyway.

I wonder how much of a trouble maker Venus could ever be, it's not in her nature! Even in detriment surely she would just be weakened rather than become her opposite? By putting her at the MC in the 12.05 chart we maximise her influence, which I would think would be positive.

In my experience the moon's final aspect is descriptive of the lasting outcome of the event, which is why I am not too keen on the Neptune square. (But it's great to be rid of having to manouever Pluto out of the way of final aspects for a few months ).

And no, the groom is not Saturnian - he is a bright Aries. Capricorn on his decendant.... well it has to go somewhere

Venus in Aries tends to be self-centered and wanting what she wants, and wanting it now. The MC would put her in the position of easily getting it and would probably add fuel to the Cardinal Sun-Mars-Jupiter T-square. Venus in Aries seems more confrontational than relational. More I than We.

The Leo Asc.- Moon square is safely separating and fading away after 1:15 pm or so. That?s another reason why I prefer 1:30 ? 1:45.

OK Kirk, I follow your thinking. I think an Aries Venus at the MC could possibly spell problems for a young couple, but less so for a couple of 'mellowing' age, as this pair. But I still have trouble seeing her as much of a problem maker, even in that position!
