Any progress?

Hi Peter,

How's the article coming along? The Wikipedia Astrology and Science section has gradually tipped toward a decidedly skeptic POV since you and I left that discussion to work on our articles. Despite the recent changes, it is still many times better than when we first descended upon it. I wish I had the time and energy to continue that battle, but maybe someone else is willing, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology.

I see there's another Wikipedia article on psychological astrology that needs cleaning up, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_astrology.

I got my article published, see http://www.encosm.net/blackbox.htm. The year says 2006 though it just came out a couple of weeks ago. You know I'll help you get your article out if there's anything I can do.

Ken

Hi Ken,

Long time no speak! Congratulations on your article - looks intriguing, I will read it in detail later.

No progress on my article, I'm afraid, and I will not have any time to deal with it until August. The project is frozen for now, but it won't be difficult to revive it when the time comes. It shouldn't take me more than two weeks of straight effort, but I don't have the luxury of not going to work for two weeks now. However, I'm hoping that by revisiting this a year later, new insights may surface that will further strengthen the argument.

Wikipedia, oh my, I haven't visited that page in ages. No time for losing battles - this would need the concerted effort of at least a dozen astrologers. Lone spiritual wolves don't survive there against the hordes of materialist skeptics. It is much better to publish articles that even they will eventually have to notice.

Getting back to my research... Although the topic is unorthodox and requires specific knowledge, some of the tasks are fairly generic. For example, I'm using AstroDatabank for analyzing correlations between the various data files. All one needs for this is a recent copy of ADB plus the files. Perhaps we could collaborate along those lines. Please send me a private message if you're interested.

Bets wishes,
Peter

Just a quick update on how this line of research is progressing for those of you holding your breath... :)

I have reviewed and reworked my research from last year, and can happily report that the current proof is much simpler than the previous one and that results are more striking and align with astrological tradition very well. It is a statistical proof involving over 120,000 charts.

Unfortunately I cannot spill all the details here because that would disqualify publication. It seems though that this material is now worthy of being written up and broadcast to a wider community. All in due course following a move on my birthday...

A quick update here for those holding their breaths...

I've completed the analysis phase of step one of my research program consisting of roughly 2,400 steps. I need to get down to writing the first article to completely finish this very important first step.

There is strong support for some basic tenets, and I'm pretty sure that this will be the first convincing evidence for these. Can't spill the details here so that they can be published, which must be the priority now.

Will keep you posted.
Peter

For your information, the base article is now written (weighing in at 33 pages currently), and is being informally reviewed by a few people. It will be another week or two before the material can be finalized. After this, I will produce journal-specific articles until it is accepted for publication. So still some time to go, but the bulk of the work is done.
