Event / Horary 1 by honeybee Hi all, I've a question. I received an email from someone and want to know the underlying motive of sending this email. I have the event chart and the rising is Virgo. It aptly describes the situation, but do I still look at the 7th house for that person and 9th house for the person's email? Or do I simply use mercury as the email? I have lost track of the time the question first crossed my mind, hence, using an event chart for this. In future, is it good to use horary or event chart for such question? I'm new and would like to learn more. Thanks! ________ GL-CLASS Last edited by honeybee on Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:26 am, edited 1 time in total. Quote Tue Mar 11, 2008 1:57 pm
by Gem If you have the precise time it's best to look at the event chart. The AC is taken by the person who initiates the action. So if you have the time the sender sent the email, the sender is the AC. As for which house you're represented, it depends on what sort of releationship you have with the person. 3 by Sei no Senshi If you have the precise time it's best to look at the event chart. Yes, definitely. Event charts for a situation always trump horary charts asked after the fact. So if you have the time the sender sent the email, the sender is the AC. As for which house you're represented, it depends on what sort of releationship you have with the person. Not necessarily. The situation represented by the event chart is the receiving of the e-mail. Who initiated this action? The sender, most obviously so you are correct in associating them with the First house. Their message would naturally be the Third. Honeybee would fall into the chart's Seventh house as the recipient of the e-mail which is the focus of the entirety of the event chart as the Seventh signifies those that the action is done unto or those that receive the action. 4 by ### It looks like I?m in disagreement here ? or maybe I just misunderstood. With my receipt of an e-mail message as the event: If I open my inbox and find an upsetting or bewildering e-mail at 3:17 pm, then I have an event chart for myself at 3:17 pm for my location, with myself represented by the 1st and the sender by the 7th. The 3rd would signify my e-mail inbox. It?s my receiving a message ? it?s my event at my time and place ? so it?s my chart with myself in the 1st. For further info I could draw another chart using the sending of the message as the event: If I?m able to figure out the time zones, etc. from the source info, and know the location of the sender, then I can use the time it was sent at the sender?s location and make a chart for the moment the e-mail was sent, with him/her as 1st house and myself as 7th ? the 3rd being the sender?s e-mail communications. 5 by Sei no Senshi Maybe I misunderstood as well. Yay misunderstandings! For further info I could draw another chart using the sending of the message as the event: This is what I thought Honeybee was speaking of. I know several e-mail inboxes will keep the time of exactly when an e-mail has been sent and received, and - like you said - if you knew the whereabouts of the person who sent it to you, then you could very well set up an event chart for the sending of the e-mail after adjusting the hours if necessary thanks to possible time zone differences. Guess this is what happens when you assume. Silly me. Quote Wed Mar 12, 2008 4:11 am
by honeybee Thanks all for the help. I was asking the intentions of the person sending this email. Am I correct to say that both methods are applicable for this question? 1) the time the email was sent 2) the time I read the email I'm sitting on a reply to the person's email. I asked the question, what will the person's reaction after receiving my reply. I noted the time I asked this question. Should I cast a horary chart based on the time I asked the question or an event chart on the time I decided to reply? Which is more appropriate? If an event chart is to be used in this case, am I correct to assume that I will be the first house since the action is initiated by me? Thanks for the patience and help. I, a newbie, is appreciative. ________ Teen movie Last edited by honeybee on Fri Mar 18, 2011 9:38 am, edited 1 time in total. Quote Wed Mar 12, 2008 7:38 am
by Gem honeybee Getting back to your first question, you want to know the sender's motives. So the sender's coordinates should be used(date, time and place). The sender is the AC but I don't think you're not necessarily the 7th. It could be 11th(friend), 3rd(cousin), partner(7th), etc. You may disagree, though As for your second question, the event chart will show what is likely to happen but to know spwcifically how it'll be received, a horary chart may be more appropriate. 8 by honeybee thanks! I've another question on this. If we are looking at the event chart on the time the email is sent by the person. Let's say the person is a friend of mine, I regard the person as a friend but the person view me as a love interest. Should I take the 11th house or the 7th house for myself? ________ STARCRAFT 2 REPLAY Last edited by honeybee on Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:27 am, edited 1 time in total. Quote Thu Mar 13, 2008 12:48 pm
by honeybee that means the house I'll take will depend on how the person view me and not how I view the person? Let's say if the person sees me as a friend but I see the person as a secret enemy.. I'll still take the 11th house? Thanks ________ New jersey medical marijuana Last edited by honeybee on Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:27 am, edited 1 time in total. Quote Thu Mar 13, 2008 4:51 pm
by Gem Yes if you're talking about the event chart. He(AC) wouldn't know that you're a 'secret' enemy. I was thinking more in terms of the actual relationship he has with you. To use a very simple example, if you're his mother, you're the 10th in his chart. Quote Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:13 pm
by Gem I'd like to add a couple of points: Look at where his significator is, its condition and aspects it's in. Even if the sig is afflicted, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's a bad person. It may show the condition or the state of mind he was in when he wrote the email. You'd better keep an open mind and not read too much into the event chart The 3rd house is also relevant, as been pointed out. Best wishes Gem Quote Fri Mar 14, 2008 8:24 am
