Note: Does LeHavre receive the ascendant? Is that necessary to decide the outfall of this match? Or does the MC (and POF) represent the favourite? The relationship between the lord of hour and lady of the ascendant may provide an important clue to how the chart is resolved. In hindsight we will be able to look at the details and find out what worked which way what.

Yes, it is a championship game - but the result is open and the odds more interesting than some of the other games going this weekend (unless you believe in Derby) The game is played on the Dy of Saturn and the Hr of the Moon, with a Cancer asc. This should prove an advantage to the home team, who also are the favourites by odds. However, Preston have been showing good form of late. There is a trine between the Asc and MC. Fortuna is disposed by Mars, who is wholly managed by the Moon, who is at home in her own sign. She applies to the trine of POF, in testimony of the favourite. I will be monitoring Blackpool.

The game starts on the Dy of Saturn, Hr of Mars. The chart is proven radical by Mars sharing the same powers as the Leo asc and its lord, the Sun. The Dragon's tail on the asc might prove detrimental to the home team. Venus, who is L10, is exalted in the 7th. Venus does oppose Saturn in the 1st, but who is L7, and who receives her in her triplicity. Venus is in the face of Saturn, so they enjoy a mixed reception. POF at 11SG30 casts its antiscia to 18CP30, which is conj Jupiter at 17CP59, who is in his own terms. The favourite will prevail. Money on Lyon.

I'd be quite happy to join in some of the mid week european games, a few days notice would help though. If the games are done on the spur of the moment, then thank you to all for posting up your comments and thoughts.

Man City are very marginal faves, just on home advantage presumably. Spurs often wear their third kit which is yellow when they play blue teams. Not sure how this will affect the colour allocation. I've given Man City the Asc and have gone for a 2-1 win for them. There's an awful lot of testimonies. I won't list them all here but what do any of you think of Mercury (L1) and Venus (L10) straddling the Desc?

I'd go for Everton with the testimonies like that. I'll come back later when I've looked at the charts

On colours there are mixed testimonies for Virgo being blue or yellow. The McCann article does not make Jupiter blue, although the thread on colours does suggest this! There is a blue testimony for Mercury.

Yes, Deb says the basic colour for Jupiter is blue. I've always thought of it as purple - which is a combo of blue and red of course. Since ManC wear very pale blue and white, there's a possibility that Spurs will wear their dark blue. Virgo/Mercury/Pisces could be pale blue; Jupiter/Cap dark blue?

That's interesting. I think Venus's position on the Desc is very strong but I see that as favouring Asc team because it is L10. There's also POF trine its dispositor, Saturn, but not sure how valid that is since ManC are such marginal faves. Also Moon square ant Venus and ant Mercury are two minor testimonies for Asc team.

I looked at this game and agree with much that has been said. I was contemplating the potentials of success for Fulham, but now I am put off that completely! The price does simply not seem good enough!

Mercury also sextiles POF. It slightly looks better for Man City.

I still have a feeling that Everton can carry it off.

Rome haven't lost a game home since they played against Inter last September. The game is played in the Dy & Hr of Saturn. Saturn has exaltation in the asc. In fact, the asc is within orb of his exaltation degree. Saturn is lord of the 4th. Venus, L1, opposes Saturn.

The lord of the hour exalted in the ascendant is an extremely potent moment for any competition, however, it is the nature of Saturn to dampen things and Libra will even things out. I think I recall observing this in a match some time ago. Rome stand a better chance than Milan, but this could end a draw...

At any rate, a draw is a more interesting prediction!
