by Andrew Bevan Super! That is the only way to go! With your head on the block!! Hmm... I seem to have been there a few times... http://www.astronor.com Quote Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:19 am
by Gem Very interesting list provided by Uber 'The solar testimonies' seem rather complex and not so simple and straightforward; a lot to be pondered about. Re Everton v Chelsea, I'm going for a draw too (the same reasonings given by Andrew and John). Quote Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:14 am
by Ficina I've been puzzling over this game for a while. I think it is important with this chart to decide who gets the Asc because of the Sun (L10) just inside 7th, as John has pointed out. Who is in control of whom? It's always a problem when the home team isn't the fave, albeit Chelsea are not odds-on faves. I'm giving Everton the Asc - home team + colours. This means Chelsea are in control and they have the additional minor testimony of antiscion Saturn (L4) conj Desc in 7th. I'm not sure if this is enough for them to win. A draw is still a good result for an away team, especially as Everton are one of the better sides. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Quote Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:30 am
by Andrew Bevan I do hope it is a draw. That would be something - considering that everyone agreed! It would be a sure token of skill and strength. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everton-Chelsea 0-1 Never mind. This is within the testimonies gathered in the 7th house and the chart being radical by triplicity, but with an inclination toward the favourite. I had 2-3 horaries this evening with the Moon in that late degree of Virgo. All charts indicated that the querent had nothing to worry about. The VOC Moon proved protective, dignified by triplicity and applying to her own face in Libra. One woman was looking for her work contract on a ferry liner to be renewed under new ownership (Moon enters own face in Libra=bridge). A second woman was due to enter into a relationship and affair; Libra disposed by Venus in her own terms in Aries in the 5th in exact conjunction with POF/POS. Here the reversed calculation of POF gives excellent meaning, because POS conj Venus in the 5th will make her heart soar. http://www.astronor.com Quote Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:33 pm
by Goca I was sure someone will win, but do not know who, because I had problem how to asign colours so I did not post anything. It seems I am the only one how calculate planet srength. When I do calculations of accidental dignities it were for Ve=-2 for Ma=2. JF "The major accidental dignities are much more important than essential dignity in these questions. Essential dignity might tell us who deserves to win; accidental dignity tells us who does win. But if all other testimonies are more or less equal, a strong discrepancy n essentiall dignity can be crucial." And because this is small difference after adding essen.dignities we get for Ve=-12 for Ma=+7. So, I ask myself how draw is possible with so much difference? Greetings, Goca http://www.astrosport07.webs.com http://fensi88.livejournal.com/ Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 6:43 am
by Andrew Bevan The accidental and terrestial determination is always more important than the celestial state and essential dignities gathered by that planet. This is from Morinus. Yes, Goca! You make a good point! Last nights study was interesting in terms of all the VOC planets. Upon seeing the result I think Ficinia may have been right in allocating Chelsea to the descendant. http://www.astronor.com Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 6:55 am
by Ficina Goca, I think you must be quoting from the horary section in JF's book. For event charts he says "Forget essential dignity, forget accidental dignity, forget receptions. They simply don't work in these charts." (p.82) It was interesting to see that the testimonies I mentioned for Chelsea turned out to be sufficient for them to win. Perhaps not so surprising since bodily emplacement is top in the hierarchy of testimonies! There were no testimonies at all for Everton. There were two reasons, as I said, to give the Asc to Everton - the two out of three "rule". The way I saw the colours, Goca, was Libra/Venus=blue/white for Everton, and Sun on Desc was perfect for Chelsea's bright yellow Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 8:10 am
by Andrew Bevan For event charts he says "Forget essential dignity, forget accidental dignity, forget receptions. They simply don't work in these charts." (p.82) I think we discussed this slightly under the radicality thread. My opinion is that essential dignities could be irrelevant in mundane affairs. To put it like this: I don't think a volcano gives a damn, but in civil affairs I still think the question of quality may be relevant. There were no testimonies at all for Everton. Excellent observation! We gave Everton the ascendant. The chart was radical, proven by the ascendant - but radicality works for the favourite, who is not necessarily the ascendant! Oh, I do find this very exciting!! http://www.astronor.com Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 8:25 am
by Ficina radicality works for the favourite, who is not necessarily the ascendant! Exactly! This is what I was trying to explain to Gem and John earlier on in this thread but I don't think I did it very well. This is a perfect example Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 8:41 am
by Gem radicality works for the favourite, who is not necessarily the ascendant The way I see is different. Radicality and AC are closely tied. Any election, event chart, AC is given to those who initiate action. If I start something when the time is not right(LOH and LOA not in agreement) then the project/enterprise or whatever I initiated won't be likely to go to my liking. In football event charts we haven't given AC to teams who kick off but if the AC is represented by underdogs and the chart is not radical, then the result isn't favourable for the AC. This is how I see it and I appreciate people seeing this differently Last edited by Gem on Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:44 am, edited 1 time in total. Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:25 am
by Ficina This is how I see it and I appreciate people seeing this differently Fair enough, but the proof of the pudding is in examples if the AC is represented by underdogs and the chart is not radical, then the result isn't favourable for the AC. In this game the chart was radical, so according to your reasoning, that would mean the result would be favourable for the Asc underdogs, Everton, but it wasn't. Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:41 am
by Andrew Bevan A football match is a two-way affair, like a marriage or the crossing of a bridge. As if there were two towns on either side of a river, which side of the river owns the bridge? Which team is in possession or command of the brigde from the start? As a thumb rule, in football, we seem to be allocating this team to the ascendant, but who wins the football match or is left standing on the bridge after the battle has been fought - that is the question. Yes, there are several ways of looking at it, Gem, and all our individual ideas appear to be having a great rally at present! Great contribution! http://www.astronor.com Quote Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:44 am
