Profit or Loss?

Hi Everyone,

I have a horary question I hope to get some help with. It is my first post of this type. Querent asked, ?Will the new business partnership work out?? Primarily, will it be profitable for him and there is some suspicion about legality. The nature of the proposed business involves real estate investment, short sells and foreclosures.

Ascendant 16 Scorpio16
Venus hour

Significators:
- Querent?s significator is Lord of the Ascendant, which is Mars in Cancer (fall, in triplicity) cadent in 9th house.
- Moon is Querent?s co-significator or significator of the situation. It is in Libra in 11th house, out of orb of any separating aspect, next applying aspect is to Venus by opposition.
- Partner?s significator is Lord of the 7th, which is Venus in Aries (detriment, peregrine) cadent in 6th house (five degree rule) advancing under Sun beams.
- Querent?s money is Lord of the 2nd, which is Jupiter in Capricorn (fall, peregrine) cadent in 3rd.
- Partner?s money is Lord of the 8th, which is Mercury in Taurus (in face) cadent in 6th, combust separating, crazy fast.
- The new business (they would incorporate) is signified by the Lord of the 10th, which is the Sun in the last degree of Aries (exalted, for now), cadent in 6th house. And/or signified by Saturn in Virgo (peregrine, RX) in 10th and/or South Node conjunct MC.
- Company gains (if any) are signified by the Lord of the 11th house, which is Mercury (same significator for partner?s money) in Taurus (in face) cadent in 6th, combust separating, crazy fast.

At first glance, so many significators detrimented and cadent the venture would seem to lack the energy to yield profit. Nevertheless, the Querent?s significator, Mars, has dignity by triplicity and is in mutual reception by exaltation with Jupiter, planet of fortune and his money significator. Querent (Mars) applies to Jupiter by opposition. Both planets are in fall, but would the mutual reception counter this, bring some profit as each commits its disposition to the other? Searching through Bonatti I find what seems to be two opinions: one yes (he quotes al-Qabisi), and one no (Book of Astronomy, Tr. 3, Part 2, Ch. 5, p. 224-6, trans. by Benjamin Dykes). Even so, perfection by opposition Querent is said to rue the day, and wish the venture would never have happened (Lilly).

Moon applies to Venus (partner?s significator) by opposition. Another testimony to regret the business connection. In addition, the Moon separated from the orb of its last aspect before coming into orb of its opposition to Venus. A void condition, it signifies an empty Moon with no direction, light or virtue to carry forward to its next aspect.

This brings me to the important question of how to interpret the Sun. As Lord of the 10th it might represent the company, or it might be a universal significator for some higher authority, a judge or magistrate, further emphasized as Lord 10. Venus is on the verge of entering under Sun beams (going to prison) in the 6th house (6th and 12th are houses of imprisonment, Venus is Lord 12th and 7th). Does the chart testify the partner (Venus) is headed to prison? Some other trouble? If so, does harm come to Querent? Or is there another interpretation for Sun-Venus here?

Darlene

Hi again,

I?d like to qualify something and give a small update. When I said there ?is some suspicion about legality? I meant the Querent is suspicious his partner might be steering contracts awry of the law claiming grey areas or legal loop holes.

Update bit: Today Querent reported the partner is pressing him to jack rabbit the business, escalate it way beyond their original business agreement. Querent said it is ?nuts?, ?too risky? and that the partner is putting ?greed ahead of all sensibility?. Well, Querent?s significator is Mars in cautious Cancer, partner is Venus in Aries fast and detrimented desire nature.

Darlene
