Andrew, thanks for your observations on Bolton/Sunderland. I still feel rather disappointed with this chart. As Gem pointed out, there were no clear testimonies for either side. In this situation we have two options - faves win by default or draw. This is where I'd have hoped that radicality or non-radicality would point us in the right direction. Radicality supports the faves; non-radicality supports the draw. This wasn't the case.

Liverpool v ManC, 4pm BST, -1.00, Asc 26,31 Virgo.

Again there are no testimonies for either side (unless I've missed something) so either the faves, Liverpool, win by default or it's a draw. The chart is radical - hour ruler Venus rules earth trip by day, so faves should win. I've gone for 1-0.

I think that's likely. Satrun prohibits the Moon and will favour neither side as it doesn't rule any of the angles. Probably a draw, since Arsenal haven't got anything to play for now and there're no strong testimonies for Everton.

I feel terrible. Could it be explained like this. Saturn, lord of the day, has 7 essential dignities in the ascendant by exaltation and triplicity, is over-powering and takes precedence. Mars, lord of the hour, being radical in the place of the Moon could be a secondary conisderation.

There's no need to feel terrible, Andrew. We can't expect every method and technique to work every time. I can accept the occasional blip. Your observation re lord of the day makes sense, but how do we know when we should take this into consideration beforehand? Only when the chart isn't radical perhaps.

Arsenal/Everton is becoming very interesting. We now have two for Arsenal, two for Everton and one for a draw!

If Chelsea slip up, Arsenal could overtake them and come second. I think this might get them automatic qualification for the CL but I'm not entirely sure because it seems to be very complicated.

John, when you say one planet is stronger than another, are you counting both accidental and essential dignities - the whole caboodle?

As the season is drawing to a close, apart from play-offs, finals and the European Championship(!), I wondered if there was any merit in drawing up a short list of games this season that have caused prediction issues?
Just a thought after the Bolton/Sunderland comments, also Portsmouth/Blackburn last week, also some of the shock results. Rather than looking at these as one-offs, whether trying to see some common threads (if there are any) between them all may be of interest?

Radical or not. I've really given this a think today, after which it seems obvious. It comes down to the basics of the planetary days and hours. Saturn, lord of the Day, is in office with the Libra ascendant. This is the basics of it all. Saturn rules the 7th day and is exalted in Libra, the sign of rest.

The sign of a planets exaltation is properly associated with the day of the week that is ordinated to that planet. So Saturn is in office on Saturday when Libra is on the ascendant. As a consequence, a chart would be radical on Sunday with Aries on the ascendant, on Monday with a Taurus ascendant, and so on...

I am sure this builds on a sound practice of astrology.

Yes well done Ficina and John but I'd like to point out that Hibernian/Rangers, which had a similar chart (kicked off 30mis later; AC 6 Virgo with the same LOH) ended in 0-0. So in this chart, Saturn exerted his influende.

Good idea. I was also thinking about going through draw charts or VOC Moon charts over the summer.

That makes sense in this chart though I can't remember having seen any other examples of this kind.

Thanks guys and well done to John. Shame Arsenal didn't manage to score two though. Still haven't got a correct score yet! Hopefully there won't be any more goals at Anfield. It's 1-0 at the moment.

Agree with Gem's comments that John's idea is good and Andrew's lord of the day theory makes sense but we need examples.
