Hi I had a question about my brother and was wondering if anyone could help me in interpreting this chart. I drew it up today June 28 2008 at 4:05 pm in Bodfish California.I have a basic knowledge of astrology but horary astrology is a completely new subject.I have been reading some articles and looking through some of the posts here.I have picked up a few things but I am really just a beginner.
Anyway the subject is my brother Kevin.It is an unfortunate situation.He passed away last year.His body was found October 17,2007 in a field near Sherman Island California which is near Sacramento.The exact date of death is not known,it could have been a week or a month or two.It is believed that he committed suicide.I had not been in touch with him for the last few years,so it is doubly distressing.Without going into a long history,he was a very sensitive and creative but also troubled person whose life was marked with a lot of high and low periods.I would like to know anything I can about what his state of mind was at this time,and is there anything in the horary chart that will reveal any specifics about what led him to this act.I would like to know anything I can about the surrounding circumstances.I do not have any information about where he was last seen,that would also be helpful.I would also like to know what the exact date of death was.So I guess my question would be--what happened to my brother Kevin?? He had been living in San Leandro California so dont know what brought him to Sherman Island.
After looking at this chart,I looked to the third house for my brother.Saturn was his significator,in Virgo,located in the 10th house conjuncting Mars in Leo. Would that mean something like dying in a public place,with Mars conjuncting Saturn signifying violence? Also Sun conjunct Venus in the eight house,surrounded by love (I would hope) and Mercury is also in the eighth,would that signify him also? Just trying to piece it together.Thanks for any input

Hi thanks for taking a look.The Ascendant of the horary chart is 15 degrees Scorpio.Also the time zone for Bodfish CA (it's near Bakersfield CA) is Pacific Daylight Time.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother.

I am not too well-practiced at this type of horary, but I've had a look and will give it a shot.

The Sun, ruler of the turned 8th of death, separates from Saturn, your brother, by three or so degrees, so it may be about three weeks, rather than months, of his body being found from the time he died; and Saturn is in the turned 8th, as well. It seems to me that the chart does point to suicide. Mars with Saturn would suggest violence of some sort, but it is a wide aspect; Mars is in the Sun's (ruler of his death) sign, so this would suggest something deliberate. Mars rules the 6th house (his turned 4th).

The moon is also in the 6th, so maybe this points to some health issues; Mars is in late degrees, indicating someone or something 'at the end of its rope'...perhaps he had some issues that he had had enough of. The 4th house rules homes; it also rules childhood and one's roots. I don't know your family history, of course, but with the exalted Moon in this house, and its separating aspect both to the Sun and to Saturn, I would think this had something to do with it: either being homeless(?) or health issues or issues from childhood. Maybe all three. All the indications, from my POV, point to something deliberate, and possibly welcomed: the radix 8th is ruled by Mercury, and Saturn is in Mercury's sign.

I really feel for you. I hope some more experienced astrologers will pitch in; I hope there's some small comfort to be found somewhere in this.
