Frustration with Astro.com

1
I use Astro.com for all my charts and have found two sources of frustration.

The first, and this must be very common, is that it does not seem able to plot charts without all those unnecessary and distracting new-fangled so-called planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron). Is there an horary alternative, preferably contained within Astro?

The second is more about my Vedic problems, and not quite right for here, but what is the point in the Lahiri Ayanasma if it won't plot any indian style charts?

I do appreciate it. I know it is free. It is the central, most important feature of my whole life!

However, there are many free things in the world, which don't fill my needs.

fish,

Go buy a good program. May I suggest Solar Fire to you. The irritating outers can be taken out if you so wish. Free is good but you only get what you pay for!

I use Astrolog which can be downloaded free from http://www.astrolog.org/ - it allows you to select what's active and what's not. It has a Vedic option in its house system menu, but that may not be what you're after.

The printing options seem to be fairly basic (but I have very rarely printed anything from it) so if you need to print out charts to give to other people you're probably better with one of the commercial programs, as Julie suggested.

I have a Mac too.

This kind of depends on how much you want to invest, but the new Macs can dual boot into Windows, or if you spend $80 like I did, you can use VMware Fusion and use Windows within a window on the Mac.

So if you have an Intel Mac, and a copy of Windows, you can use a good astrology app like Solar Fire, or Janus, or something.

HI.
I too, would like to see the charts at astro.com have the option to remove the outers, but I guess for Alois, its a matter of priority. I'm unsure as to whether the admin over there care much for horary, but I'm sure if you could rustle up support from other members there, you may get your request granted. It cant hurt......(can it?)
Alternatively, I find doing charts without aspect lines, helps lessen the confusion that the outers can bring to a chart....it seems to clean the chart up enough to ignore them anyway.
I do have to add though, I like astro.com...and I especially like free things :)

Peace
