by Deb If we take L1 for the home team it looks in a bad way. L7 is in Cancer opposing the moon which is in the same house as Jupiter. My feeling is that suggests an away win and I am going for 2-0 ...one for each crab claw. Do I have the wrong data or is Mat using a different system? I get 24 Sag rising with Mercury in Virgo (8th house). Only opposition of the Moon is to the Sun. Quote Sun Aug 17, 2008 9:42 am
by john Yes, for the Liverpool game I had 24 sag rising. Chelsea - Portsmouth today. Moon on the IC, stronger than yesterdays Arsenal game. I don't see any other testimonies, I'll have a draw. Quote Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:00 am

There is a thread on this: http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic ... 16aaeb71d4 I basically assign the AC to the home team as I wrote there, but now when visitors are odds on faves, I give them the AC. 28 by Ficina One of the things I've noticed in the past is: Moon in a Saturn-ruled sign = few goals; Moon in a Jupiter-ruled sign = many goals. In the two Saturday games we looked at, only one goal was scored in each game - Moon in Aquarius. In Sunday's games we had 4-0 and 4-2, with Moon in Pisces. The exception was the 1-1 draw between ManU and Newcastle. This was the surprise result of the weekend and I can see no explanation for it in the chart The game took place at 4pm BST in Manchester, Asc 8,20 Sag. The chart is radical, favouring ManU, and there is just one very minor testimony for Newcastle which is Mercury(L7) sextile antiscion POF. I don't usually consider essential dignities of the sigs but perhaps that was the explanation here. Anyone else have any thoughts? Quote Mon Aug 18, 2008 9:54 am
by Deb I didn't get that far. I'm still trying to figure out where I went wrong with the prediction of a draw for Sunderland and Liverpool. If John used the 1st house for the favourites, then I can understand why he predicted a win for Liverpool, but I don't understand how those of us who used the ascendant for the home team thought that the chart favoured Liverpool. Overall, not a lot in the chart, but the 1st ruler was doing very well accidentally. There seems to have been a few comments about the Moon signifying the favourites and that looking good, but this Moon was peregrine, slow, lacked angularity, and was about to conjoin Neptune and then be eclipsed by an opposition to the Sun, so I just can't see how this was a good sign for the favourites. I am more tempted now to see the Moon as the public opinion, and therefore the favourites at the stadium - hence the home team. Yes, I know, my track record is not looking good, and my experience is hardly staggering, but since the chart is drawn for that specify location, then shouldn't the Moon be used to signify public opinion at that specify location, and not in the UK generally? That would explain why the Sunderland crowd were dissapointed, and why there were quite a few home team losses on Saturday. Not really expecting answers, just verbalising my confusion and musing out loud ... Quote Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:36 am
by Ficina I don't understand how those of us who used the ascendant for the home team thought that the chart favoured Liverpool. Although I use this method, it wasn't actually relevant in my analysis of this particular game. Basically there were two testimonies for the faves, Liverpool (regardless of whether they were Asc or Desc) - radicality and Moon trine POF. There were no testimonies for the home team/underdogs. 31 by Deb Thanks for explaining. Something inside me resists the idea of POF being so significant in these kinds of charts, and I have a problem with relying on radicality in event charts. But I know that there was a big discussion on this last year, and I didn't follow it closely so I'll try to read up. Anyway - I've given this some theoretical thought, and I now have a new approach which I'm going to test out with next week's matches. Sit down though, because so far it looks like, overall, home teams won't do as well as expected. My heart sinks that I am led to go against the flow again, as further humiliation will be painful. 32 by SusieN Sometimes there's no telling: I did an event chart for the rugby game betweem S.A and New Zealand this past Saturday afternoon. Rugby match: 16 August 2008, Cape Town, 15:00 Asc 13Cap 58 Moon 19Aqua56 It was a home game for the Springboks, so they got the Asc. Do you guys want to have a stab at this before I tell you the score? Cheers, Susie Quote Mon Aug 18, 2008 1:58 pm
by john Interesting comment on the Moon Ficina and the possible correlation with the number of goals. Moon is in Taurus and Gemini for next weekend! The ManU game, my post motem was- Descendant ruler (in exaltation) aspects the 1st house ruler (in detriment) This was the last of a series of weekend games and the one with this aspect closest with the planets being in rulership of the angles of the protagonists. anti pof in 7th anti L10th in 4th anti L7th in 4th. These may also add weight for the underdog-just something I was following for the European champoinships. The other thing was Moon conjuncting the IC from the 4th. There has been suggestions peviously that this has favoured the underdog. Two games with this configuration this weekend and one more that I have from last season, which I commented on previously, have all resulted in a favourites victory. And guess what, there is another match coming up next month with the same aspect, but with the favourites likely to be the away team-worth watching out for??!! Quote Mon Aug 18, 2008 6:07 pm
by Gem Interesting observations from Deb, Ficina and John. Regarding angular Moon, we used to look at it as a strong testimony for the AC team if it's on the AC/MC; and for the DC team when on the IC and DC. I'm beginning to wonder if Moon on any angle favours the AC, as it seems that when the Moon is strongly placed in the chart, goals are produced. There may be exceptions though, when the Moon is exactly on the cusp of the DC and the IC favouring the DC team(some of you may remember the examples from last season). Deb wrote:omething inside me resists the idea of POF being so significant in these kinds of charts I remeber Kirk saying somewhere that nobody knows what to do with Fortuna, but it's quite amazing it can be very potent in football charts(as in missing article horary), and are generally considered strongish testimonies. Gosh John, you're so far ahead and are already prepared for next month's matches Remember to remind us then. Susie I haven't looked at your rugby chart, but I do think predicitng rugby results must be much easier because it's usually win/lose, only two options. I got this one right though as you can imagine I wasn't pleased at all with the result. The LOH Venus squares the AC and is conjunct L7; Venus was in partile trine with L1 lately, with Mercury closely catching up with Venus. There's a look of harmonious exchanging and sharing between them. And crucially the Moon was weakly placed, with no immediate applying aspect having to travel more than 5 degs only to be opposed by malefic Saturn. Gosh John, you're so far ahead and are already prepared for next month's matches Remember to remind us then. Its a bit scarry being on holiday and looking to pass the time of day when the televised matches are announced. I have just put them in the computer for next month, hopefully it will remind me to look at them sufficiently in advance, rather than half an hour before kick-off. I may have more chance of getting the right prediction with a cursory look at a chart. I could also try Susie's technique (only teasing) Gem, good point about the Moon's aspects on the Man U game, this was something that came up last season from time to time. I still can't get this quote thing to display correctly. Quote Mon Aug 18, 2008 7:16 pm
