Well, we've all gone a bit off-topic in this thread, although the rugby match chart does segue rather neatly into the first one-off Prem game this weekend which also has Capricorn rising. Always a pain because it means the Moon is L7 on top of all its other roles - signifying the flow of the game, the faves or the home team

Fulham v Arsenal
23 Aug, 5.30pm BST, Asc 6,20 Cap

Arsenal are odds-on faves. What first caught my eye in this chart was Mars (L10) conj POF. Although this aspect is separating, it is partile, and we have found this to be effective in the past. We also have Moon sextile antiscion Mars which is within half a degree orb, although not partile which I would prefer for this kind of minor testimony. Moon sextile antiscion POF is a testimony for the faves, although one degree orb might be a bit wide. I've noticed that partile aspects work best with these minor testimonies.

Now if I stick to my guns and give the Asc to the home team, then I think Fulham could get something out of this, especially with the Moon VOC which often indicates a draw. However, Mars (L10) seems to be a key player here and is far more descriptive of Arsenal than Fulham, so I'm tempted to give them the Asc as odds-on faves. In which case I would go for a win for Arsenal since all the testimonies are in their favour, with none for Fulham.

I am still undecided....

I have Arsenal favourite and the ascendant. Moon applying to antision L10, says an Arsenal win to me. I've not yet formed a viewpoint on partile aspects -yet!!

I'm off for the w'end but before I go, here follows my kiss of death for Arsenal:

I?m using the ascendant as the home team, and I think the chart as a whole shows disappointment for them. Jupiter is rising, which throws me a little, but it is retrograde, in fall, and ruling the 12th. Then again, it does make a strong aspect to the MC, ? but then again the MC-ruler is a poorly dignified and a weakly placed malefic. I don?t think the conjunction with POF helps because a) its ruler is in fall and in the 8th, and b) I?m having problems taking any of the Parts seriously at the moment, (same goes for antiscia). Ascendant-ruler is Saturn, in peregrine, USB, and in the 8th; Moon is applying to the sq of the Sun on the 8th house cusp - so all in all I can?t see Fulham getting much glory out of this. Earlier in the week I predicted 2-1 to Arsenal. No idea now why I went for that score specifically.

Well - odds and astrology make an uneasy mix in my head at the moment...

Arsenal get Asc, and are old and slow in the house of death and fear , Fulham is on Algol and VOC, oh dear!

Maybe the 8th house predicts a deadly boring game?

Nonetheless, I'm predicting a 2-0 win to Arsenal

Interesting comment, but also very irritating since it meant I immediately had to go and check for previous examples I could only find one but it was very similar - L10 conj POF, separating but partile, with ruler in fall in 12th. Home team won on that occasion but, unlike here, they were the faves. It's very difficult to make exact comparisions, isn't it.

Well, I can understand that because they don't always perform, especially antiscia which I have accused a couple of times in the past on this forum of being red herrings. That's why I'm making a point of concentrating on partile aspects at the moment.

With the Moon having to cross a sign boundary to perfect its square to the Sun, I'm wondering if we might see a deciding goal late on in the game, possibly in stoppage time. Last season Fulham made a habit of throwing games away at the last knockings.

The game is played on the day of Saturn and in the hour of Mars. I find both Lords to be in agreement with Capricorn, the sign on the ascendant, and in particular Mars rules this sign by exaltation.

Mars, also lord of the MC , is conjunct fortuna. I hardly expect that this game will go to anyone but the favourites. My stake goes with Arsenal.

I have notes as Arsenal as represented by Aries or Leo, and Fulham as possible Taurus. Don't ask me for my reasoning. I note that the Moon, Lady of the 7th, is VOC in the late degrees of Taurus. But the Moon does perform her waning square upon entering Gemini. I believe the that the significations of the lord of the hours will prevail.

I like it too. I've been taking up a more AC focused approach myself and find her approach very inspiring.

I don't look at 15:00 mathces so there are only two odds-on-faves at this weekend: Arsenal and Chelsea. It looks all right for both, especially Chelsea; there seems to be nothing particularly special to upset them.

In the Arsenal-Fulham chart, the condition of the Moon isn't bad--, angular and in the sign where she is comfortable(exaltation)--, the game won't go against Arsenal. The Moon as the sig for Fulham, however, has no one to pass her influences till she changes the sign, which will be too late for Fulham, as the match lasts only 90mins+ indicating her efforts won't manifest in physical terms. I agree with Ficina though, a late goal is a possibility.

The only match at this weekend I can't make up my mind on is the one between Man City and W Ham on Sunday at 16:00. With the Moon in partile suquare with Saturn, a draw may be a strong possibility.

My first reaction was a draw also. My query is the Moon is just over 3 degrees from the descendant, applying to Saturn. Moon and Saturn are in Mercury ruled signed and Gemini is on the descendant which perhaps favours the visitors.

We've mentioned Moon on the IC, albeit from the 4th and previously there has been talk of a planet being on the 12th/9th/3rd/6th possibly controlling that angle, although closer than 3 degrees. It is just another point that makes me question whether I should go from a draw to the visitor.

The only other thing I've seen, which are greater than 3 degrees apart, is Mercury opposition antision Mars and Mars opposite antision Mercury, which are 4th and 7th rulers, again making me ask do I go with the visitors

As John says, the Moon's position is tricky. 3 degs may be a bit too far down from the DC.
The POF and Venus(LOH)opposed by Uranus(though separating) may not be that good for Man City.
Venus in Virgo doesn't agree with Sag on the AC although Venus is in trine withe Jupiter(LOA) by sign, which again may not be enough for Man City to win in view of the Moon's condition.
All in all Mercury looks better than Jupiter and John going with W Ham makes sense especially because they seem to be in form.

Well, I still have more than 24 hours to make up my mind.

I had similar ponderings over this game. Agree Moon is too far from Desc and separating. Mars (L4) opp antiscion POF is all I could see but is at the limits at 5 degs.

Yes, whereas ManC seem to be out of form and are only weak faves. Mercury teams did well last week. Moon square Saturn could indicate a lack of goals. I've gone for 1-0 to West Ham.

I tried applying Deb's method to both this game and Wigan/Chelsea and came to the same conclusion, i.e. advantage away team.

As for the 3pm games, well I've entered my predictions after several mind changes, and we'll just have to see what happens. Not long till kick-off

Fulham have done it again... I remember we failed to predict Fulham beating odds on faves a couple of times last season(can't remember who though). Deb gave the AC to Fulham but her reading of the chart makes perfect sense if the AC is given to Arsenal. Ficina was initially on the right track... did you stick to your guns?

Can anyone see them winning with this chart? The chart isn't radical; the Moon is angular but opposing not only the POF but also Pluto, who hates faves. Mercury is also in an angular house, and the LOH is also on the DC. Portsmouth win???
