Hi there, I 've just noticed that the Saros Cycle that produced the August eclipse this year, preceding the events in Georgia, also produced an eclipse in 1990 just prior to the invasion of Kuwait, and in 1954 and 1936. The 1936 eclipse was very close to the invasion of Spain by Franco's troops, and the subsequent Spanish Civil War. The nearest event I can locate for the 1954 eclipse is the CIA sponsored coup in Guatemala which then led to 35 years of Civil War in that attempted "reshaping". There's a bit of a common theme here!

Regarding 1936: The Japanese also invaded mainland China in December 1936.

In regards 1954 two other events come to mind and both relate to French colonies overseas:

1 1954 Dien Bien Puh Falls. This marked the effective military defeat for French forces in Vietnam. Not an invasion but a decisive defeat for what the Vietnamese regarded as european invaders. Peace treaty and French withdrawal from Vietnam soon followed.

2 1954 revolt breaks out in the French colony of Algeria in the early hours of the 1st of November 1954. The National Liberation Front (FLN) began a revolt against French rule. The FLN wished to establish an independent Algerian state. After 8 years of conflict the Algerians won their independence following a referendum in July 1962.

Re Viernam and ALgeria yes I'd spotted those examples too, didn't bring them up because of being further on in the eclipse seasons, even so all of these events show an interesting pattern .

Its interesting that the same Saros series produced an eclipse in 1972 which is when the last US ground troops left Vietnam since as you pointed out there is that connection earlier. July 1972 saw Bloody Friday in Northern Ireland when 22 bomb attacks by the IRA show another aspect of this constant pattern surrounding the use of force to precipitously create new Geopolitical circumstances.

Under the same series eciipse of 1918 of course the whole map of Europe was redrawn and within weeks of the eclipse itself Tsar Nicholas's entire family were killed by the Bolsheviks.

I haven't checked the dates I gave you for hits on the eclipse points. Not clear what you mean by the 'Eclipse season'. Many astrologers suggest these are sensitive points well beyond the next solar eclipse.

Hi Mark the "Eclipse season" was me generalising since I don't have any personal view on the duration of the effect of an eclipse, but recognise that others do. .

You are entirely right though it would be interesting to establish a link with transits to eclipse points etc
