7th House Uranus Transit.... 1 by Sunny Dawn I am nearly 4 years into the Uranus transit of the 7th House, and it is making me increasingly sad. When Uranus walks through this house, the native gets compelling relationships with fascinating or just plain weird Uranian partners, but none of these relationships last. I am looking at perhaps 3 or 3 1/2 more years of this, and I'm sick and tired. I would like something that is real, and meant to last. There are no other outer planets transiting 7th House in this time period. Saturn is about to cross my Ascendent and transit my 1st House for the next 2 1/2 years. I have Ceres in Aquarius natally (attraction to long distance relationships) and Rahu sitting right on top of my Descendent. Just recently, I met a fascinating spiritualist-type guy who was biking the entire United States and on his last 70 miles when he ran into me. He is now back in CA, and I am in Maryland. Perhaps he will invite me to CA on my birthday in a few months, perhaps not (he has talked about it). I see this as just one more 7th House Uranian relationship that I have been consigned to (there have been at least two others) since my ex and I split up four years ago when Uranus crossed my Descendent. Is there anyone who has been through this entire 7 year transit who could shed some light on this situation? Do I just give up, take one-to-three night stands where I can get them for another three years, or declare celibacy, or what? I am really frustrated. Birth data: Jan 14, 1970 Washington, DC 9:13 pm All I know is that if my birth chart was a horary, the answer would be "No". 2 by Malcolm Ramsay Hi Sunny Dawn I can't say anything of any value about relationships (Mars in close quincunx with Venus in my natal chart sums up my experience in that sphere) but I had Uranus in the 7th for the last few years and Saturn crossed my Ascendant about a year ago. Although the Uranus transit is probably determining the kind of relationships that are available to you, I'll guess that your sense of frustration comes more from the Saturn transit of your 12th. Although the outermost planets are more powerful, my impression is that, to some extent, they work through Saturn (at least until we have thoroughly assimilated Saturn into our conscious lives). Saturn crossing the Ascendant is certainly one of the most significant transits of our lives; it seems to be a time when we can (or must) let go of an old self and allow a new one to come into being - its transit through the 12th is a time when we are still constrained by the old self, but can feel the promise of the new, so I think your frustration probably comes primarily from that. That applies across the board, of course, not just in the area of relationships, but with Mars in the 7th sextile Mercury/Venus/Sun in the 5th, relationships are probably more important to you than they are to some people. But I'd suggest looking beyond that, to understand the roots of the frustration you're feeling - if there is a deeper dissatisfaction present, you will perhaps need to deal with that before you can make the most of the Uranus transit. Bear in mind also that back in May Jupiter turned retrograde conjunct your Venus, just short of the sextile to Mars; perhaps you felt excited or hopeful then, and that feeling has faded during the retrograde period, but with Jupiter turning direct at the weekend, your memory of that period is being stirred. But that conjunction will be repeated at the beginning of December, so things might look very different then (whether Saturn's contribution will be some kind of blockage or a prospect of permanence I won't try to guess). There is probably something similar happening with Uranus which turned retrograde in late June, 5 minutes short of conjunction to your Mars (10 minutes past my own). My feeling is that when a planet turns retrograde just short of a natal point you feel the promise of the transit ... but nothing materialises, resulting in a sense of disappointment. But once Uranus turns direct in late November whatever was active in late June will perhaps come back into focus. Certainly Uranus conjunct Mars in March next year (and then stationing within 2 minutes of it in December) suggests major changes next year in how you approach relationships. So I don't think you need to be depressed about Uranus being in your 7th for another 3 years, even if what you are hoping for at the moment doesn't materialise ... but you possibly do need to think about what Saturn crossing the Ascendant means for you. Thanks, Malcolm 3 by Sunny Dawn Much appreciated, Malcolm. I'm going to watch the outcomes over the next six months, and try to post some feedback. 4 by aglaya Another one still waiting for Uranus to leave my 7th. Though, both of us have Asc. in Virgo (mine at the begining) and have been through that bad period of of Saturn transiting our 12th houses. to make it even more spicy, I'm a Cancer so, before my 12th, the Saturn was transiting the house of my Sun sign and had entered there just about the same time the Uranus did in my 7th. But I must agree with Malcolm, I think it's a lot easier for me to track Saturn effects on my private life in the past 7 years. And, as if it wasn't hard enough, once it had crossed over my Ascendant, it had to go back retrograde to step on it once again. The day it stopped moving retrograde, was my first day on a new job while the period of it walking retrograde I had to spend studying and taking courses for the new job which has nothing to do with what I studyed for at the University. Now that moving away from my Asc. and finishing its first return I'm starting to hope to better days (and noticing Uranus up there in my 7th! ). Having Saturn as the ruler of your 5th house, I'd agree once again, that it was Saturn, not the Uranus, that was the pain in your back in past fewyears. Lots of luck! Quote Sun Sep 14, 2008 9:24 pm

6 by aglaya Uranus transiting the 7th house doesn't mean one can't get married in that period BUT getting married while Uranus is there is a sign that the marriage won't last. I've seen that situatuation numerous times- such marriages just do not last! Why, when and how it will end- other planets and aspects will tell but having Uranus there at the time of the wedding is a pretty strong indicator of a dead road for me. Unfortunatelly, I don't have enough charts of the people who had met their future spouses during that period yet got married after the Uranus had left their 7th (for 7th is a union between the two and should signify their relationship even when there's no paper involved), that would be interesting to study. Anyway, Uranus will be staying in my 7th for some time more so- if I end up thinking of marriage, I'll keep you posted! Though, with the cusp of my 7th in Pisces, Sun/Mars/Venus in double bodied signs (even the 7th house ruler is retrograde), seems like it's not just that Uranus who wants me to have more than one white dress. 7 by ### i had uranus on desc back in 2001 .. igot married.. 2 months later i left the guy I've often wondered what cosmically inspired dolphins do. Uranus transiting the 7th? Big deal. It's not just a matter of the house Uranus happens to be transiting, but the contacts that are ? or aren't ? made which indicate whether the 7th house transit is important or not. The case here sounds completely like Saturn in the 1st. The initial post doesn't even sound like a matter concerning Uranus, but rings loud and clear of Saturn. The chart native has Virgo rising and Saturn has been in Virgo for a year. Thinking in terms of Whole Sign houses makes it especially relevant. Sun, Mercury and Venus are in Capricorn in the natal 5th, and the Moon is so closely applying conjunct Saturn in the natal chart. Saturn is natally a powerhouse. Is it any wonder that Saturn transiting the Ascendant sign is feeling like too much? It's not the 7th house, but the stifling pressure on the 5th that is being activated and felt. A girl/woman/earth goddess just wants to have fun ? right? It might not be on Saturn's agenda. So it doesn't look like one of the enticing and exciting modern planets, but common everyday ol' Saturn saying 'No'. Saturn, not Uranus, drove the chart native to post the thread. I would say that the innate natal 5th house Capricorn seriousness is asserting itself ? a seriousness that is matched and amplified by the Capricorn Sun and planets, Virgo Ascendant, and natal Moon-Saturn conjunction. Are you maybe fighting it off and blaming it on Uranus? Quote Fri Sep 19, 2008 11:10 am
Great ideas, colleages... 8 by Sunny Dawn Thanks for all the food for thought. Kirk, I much appreciate your purely traditional analysis, even though I'm more of a modern myself. That is why I am on this forum - to learn from folks more grounded in astrology's classic past than I am myself. My Saturn is the powerhouse, as Kirk correctly points out. I come at this from Vedic analysis, the only classical system I know well enough to feel comfortable discussing with other purists. From a modern viewpoint, Aglaya, you are most likely on to something. I have an article from Moses Siregar III somewhere in my files which includes his observation that people are far better off waiting until Uranus reaches the 8th House to get married - he even associates the 8th House transit with marriage. My own approach is to cross-reference outer planet transits with the Vedic dasa system (this keeps me operating within the two systems I know well). If I see a solid indication of marriage in a dasa that falls within the 8th House Uranus transit, I start to think I may have something. If I see a progressed Descendent conjuncting Moon/Saturn in the same time frame, I've got three variables falling into place. In my case, I do, but it is years away. So having this feedback to deal with the frustrating here and now has been a comfort. All I know is that if my birth chart was a horary, the answer would be "No". 9 by ### SD, I should drop this, but can't and won't. The first paragraph of your initial post was: I am nearly 4 years into the Uranus transit of the 7th House, and it is making me increasingly sad. When Uranus walks through this house, the native gets compelling relationships with fascinating or just plain weird Uranian partners, but none of these relationships last. It's not a matter of traditional analysis, using the traditional planets and ignoring the newer outer planets. I'm all for occasionally-barely-visible-and-close-to-traditional-by-centuries Uranus (I easily drop Neptune and Pluto). Saturn has been in Virgo, your Ascendant sign, for a year now. What about the first nearly 3 years of Uranus transiting the 7th , before Saturn entered Virgo? Why are you now annoyed and dissatisfied with things after the year Saturn has spent in Virgo? That was my point. You are looking to the outer planets for explanation (and blame!) when actually the interesting stuff is to be found in the 'Downer, dude' produced by Saturn. Your response, which times well with Saturn in your ASC, is the point ? not any disruption by Uranus to an area of your life. It's in your "it is making me increasingly sad". A focus on the disruptions of Uranus would be missing the point completely. Unless, of course, I'm wrong. Quote Mon Sep 22, 2008 11:19 am
You won't let up, so I'll have to explain myself, I see 10 by Sunny Dawn I know it is a combination of both Saturn and Uranus. I just didn?t bother to explain it all (I tend to err on the side of privacy). When Uranus crossed my Descendent, my ex and I broke up (which was devastating for me because, among other things, I now realized that I will never be able to have children. By the time I meet another man worth having them with, I will be too old to have them. He remarried a year later to the woman he had been cheating on me with. It had been a long-term dream of mine to live in California, so I did it to get away from all the unhappy memories, and nearly had a car accident on an LA freeway after finding out on the Internet that they had set their wedding date for my birthday. It doesn?t get any more 7th House Uranus than that. ) At the time my ex and I split up, Saturn was still in my 11th House. A year later Saturn was in my 12th. When Saturn went into the 12th, my strongest planet went underground. The immediate effect was on career. I?ve been contracting for the last 2 ? years, which hasn?t been paying me enough to pay my bills. The economy in the US is in the tank, and my chance of getting a good full-time job as an employee is looking less and less likely. Moving back to the Uranus transit of the 7th, I dated four men after my ex, and watched each relationship start and end. The first three didn?t bother me, but the latest and most recent one left me increasingly bitter, and my defensive wall shot up. When Uranus approached the station of my natal Mars in Pisces six months ago, I was charged with a totally bogus DUI, which I will have to go to court on in a few days. As Uranus stationed on my Mars, I lost a major contract. Five months of unemployment followed (I was actually eligible for unemployment, although I had to fight for it). Saturn was approaching the tail end of my 12th House, and the five months of unemployment left me totally exhausted and utterly disgusted with everything. Guy #4 had just left without saying goodbye. This is why I was feeling increasingly sad. Now, Saturn is sitting on my Ascendent, and I just took a part-time job (a return to the world after a descent through the ?underworld??) As a displaced worker, I am eligible for free retraining, which I plan to take advantage of (I have to make it look as if I have changed my county of residence to do so, which is a huge pain in the ass, and the only reason why I haven?t already started retraining). Definitely, there is this sense of starting over from scratch, and not really knowing where I am going (Braha, Arroyo, Parker, et al. associate this with 1st House transiting Saturn). But I still have another four years of Uranus in the 7th House, and it will swing back over that natal Mars before moving on to natal Chiron (which is normally a source of pain, and not healing). So this is why I posted looking for some additional insight. [/b]New Topic: I understand planetary secondary progression fairly well, but am just starting to work with Progressed Ascendent and Midheaven. I notice that my progressed Ascendent is about to square my natal Sun, and that my progressed Midheaven is about to move opposite my natal 5th House stellium of Mercury, Venus, and the Sun. Are there any astrologers more experienced with progressions who could tell me how this might add another layer of interpretation, or what nuances I may potentially anticipate from this? The literature that I have seen deals mainly with conjunctions. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Muchas gracias, folks. 12 by segurelha I have several friends that had this. All end long term relationships with this transit start. One eventually got again into a new relationships (after many short relationships in between) since she got pregnant, and moved out to the countryside. Talk about Uranus!
