9.0 Earthquake in Pacific Northwest this December?

1
So I asked this question because I've recently come across some sources that are predicting a lot of things in the near future and it has been right in the past. It is called Web bots and apparently it predicted 9/11 in June of 2001. It predicted the earthquake that happened in China in May as well. Its latest predictions are major events occuring on October 7th this year, and then a 9.0 scale magnitude earthquake in the Pacific Northwest this coming December. Needless to say, I live in the PNW and asked this question to know if I should flee the area in the beginning of December.

The chart informatiion is 2:50 PM, Byers, Colorado on December September 25th, 2008

Capricorn rising (earth) was rising with Jupiter right on the ascendant. The 4th house is Taurus (fixed earth) is the house ruling the question, and the ruler Venus is opposing Taurus from Scorpio, in its detriment. Those seem significant..But there don't seem to be any aspects between the significators going on except for Moon and Venus being contraparallel and the Moon being at around 9 Degree Taurus in antiscia..which would be conjunct the IC and opposing Venus...?

2
I'd like to know too, since I'm right on the fault line.

Jupiter rising has to be significant. It trines the chart ruler Saturn in the angst ridden 8th, and Jupiter, ruler of the 12th of hidden things trines it from the first. A trine here could represent an open, or large and flowing release of energy, which could possibly point to an earthquake.

Uranus is in the same degree of the moon, and the moon is about to oppose Neptune, if you want to look at the outers, but you'd think Uranus would be prevalent somehow.

It doesn't look like an obvious earthquake though does it, but the chart does seem to be saying something.

Timing wise- Mars transits over the Venus position of this chart in October 7th...the day you said something would happen. Venus rules the 4th!

Dec 11th, we have Jupiter squaring the Mars position at the same time the Sun is squaring the Uranus position.

In questions like this, I like to look at Sabian symbols. Sometimes they even answer the question, esp the sig symbols.

12 Cap Asc - "A student of nature lecturing revealing little-known aspects of life." There may have been too much weight given to the needs of society and now it is time to redress the balance. Practical applications of knowledge.'

14 Cap Jup - An Ancient Bas-Relief carved in granite remains a witness to a long-forgotten culture.' The issue you find in your situation is not so much in the superficial display, but in the longevity and stability of the foundation or backdrop of your society. Some things never fade, they stand as reminders of ancient eras, bringing messages from the past. Things carved in stone. Permanent records.' If negative - limitations by not allowing for change.

So, those are kind of spooky arent' they? They are from Lynda Hill. The 'redressing the balance' part could symbolize an earth shift, and then allowing for change.

Sounds like something is going to happen.

what the heck is Web bots? I need to go look now :-)))

yeah! youre in Vancouver right? It specifically mentioned Vancouver as being where it would be. It said Pacific Northwest/Vancouver. All I know is there is a major fault line here and the chart does indeed look pretty creepy. With the things I mentioned and now the things you are mentioning. I think I will be driving East that week.

Web bots is a program that picks up information through the 'collective consciousness' on the internet and it makes predictions. sounds pretty bogus i'm sure, but insanely it is very accurate. like i said it predicted 9/11...earthquake in China..hurricane katrina...

So that's why I'm giving this prediction some credence. Especially now because of the chart.

Anybody else have any other input? This could literally be a life or death decision.

What you've given us is an example of how vague Sabian one-size-fits-all 'images' can be shaped to ideas already held. The prediction of a major earthquake has set the tone and placed the idea in your mind. Living in the region brings personal involvement and fear which subtly gives a willingness to accept the prediction as true, or at least to accept it as likely. Sabian Symbols with their vagueness work by reinforcing the ideas the mind is holding ? turning up the light where the mind is already looking.

How do those two quotes have anything to do with pointing to an earthquake? Even the commentary after each one has nothing to do with earthquakes. Yet, they're ?spooky?. You've already been spooked by the prediction and are prone to find confirmation in the Sabian joke that has been given the air of authority.

I'm in the region, too. We will see.

Hi himnotcool,

Can you please post the web address where you found this prediction? My son lives in Vancouver so you've got me worried.

The horary chart is not reassuring ... moon conjunct south node on cusp of 8th and applying directly to Neptune who rules earthquakes (Poseidon was known as "Earth Shaker" because of his ability to summon earthquakes) ... tsunamis also, of course.

As I said, hnc, can you please provide the web address of Web bots prediction?

Thanks,
Tara

Hi Kirk

In my opinion, if the horary chart is radical, then the sabian symbols must be relevant somehow, especially of the Asc or any planet on the asc, or even the asc ruler. Therefore, if the sabians are going to be giving some sort of information to the question at hand, then its simply up to us to figure out how. Literally, or symbolically, they are telling us something. A Sabian coming up saying 'there will be an earthquake' may be a little too much to expect. They require a little more finesse and nuance when reading them, although sometimes they can indeed be literal.
If the Sabians don't speak to you, that's cool, but i find them to be quite interesting and worth experimenting with.
As for whether an earthquake will hit, I wouldn't be surprised if one did, since little ones happen all the time. It may just not be the big one that was predicted. We hope not.

also, theres a website called www.urbansurvival.com that has everything else, but that website i just linked you to just lists the things out more concisely. also, if you go to youtube.com you can type in 'Web Bot predictions' and there are tons of videos.

Also, if the chart is indicated a 'Yes' then it will be a big one. Because I specifically asked if it was going to be a 9.0..

Seems like we can't figure what the definitive answer is. I mean, it looks like it could definitely happen..but then it looks like it might not.

If you're expecting a Sabian to come up saying 'there will be an earthquake', then I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. They require a little more finesse and nuance when reading them, although sometimes they can indeed be literal.
It's that ?finesse and nuance? I was talking about. I'm not so sure about taking the time to apply finesse and nuance to things that popped into a lady's mind in a San Diego park in the 1920s. There have since been other authors ? such as Hill in this case ? and they're all taking the stuff in the direction they want it to go.

What really got me to post to this thread was not a general discussion of the Double S, but your being spooked by images that barely applied at all to the matter at hand. "A student of nature lecturing revealing little-known aspects of life": I'm having trouble finding a huge, massively destructive earthquake hidden in there, or indications of large-scale suffering. By the way, compare that to Jones ?A student of nature is lecturing and conjures up dancing pictures of distant wonders before each listener. ELOQUENCE.? [From WinStar software, as taken from Jones' mimeographed copies given to students]. I suppose a 9.0 earthquake would make the pictures on the wall dance.

For 14 Capricorn Hill's ?An Ancient Bas-Relief carved in granite remains a witness to a long-forgotten culture? comes from Jones ?A vast pile of Mayan ruins in tropical America discloses a perfectly preserved bas-relief carved in the granite. REPUTE.? At least we now have ruins in the western hemisphere. The Jones symbols for the two degrees would seem to more accurately portray someone making memorable descriptive statements.

The problem is when we confuse opinion with knowledge... opinion everyone has their own, about politics and religion mainly. This can be hardly be said to be "respect", is more tolerance.

Now about knowledge we should have some standards that, as a community, we could argue, agree and/or refute. If one defends his method based in "it works for me", it is just that, an opinion.

I rarely agree with Kirk, but this is one of the rare cases that proves the rule. If we aren?t allowed to point out a flaw in someone?s technique, is a downsize to the astrological community.

Of course, as a knowledge, we can always wait some months and compare with the results (presence/absence of earthquake). the problems is that people seldon change their opinion (not knowledge), even in face of refutal of hypothesis.

So, for example, even if there is a earthquake, the probability is that Kirk would still not believe in Sabian symbols. And even if there is No earthquake, that you will still believe in Sabian symbols.

Yes, it CAN happen, but it probably won?t happen. Why ? Because every time in my life that I heard a prediction of great cathastrophe, it NEVER happened. And I heard at least two predictions of disaster every year. Every time that a great disaster did happened, like the Tsunami, no soul has called it before.

So, the question is more about how much energy you are willing to dispose worrying about a topic that will get to nothing.

Horary teachers know that there is a "default option" in questions about things very unlikely like huge earthquakes. You should have astonishing, overbearing evidence to show that there is an earthquake. In my humble opinion, the fact that you are using Sabian symbols shows that you don?t have this overbearing evidence.

Besides that the question can be interpreted as "is this rumour true ?" With a cardinal sign rising, is more than enought evidence that the Universe is saying "BS"!

Best regards.

I hope that you are right! I hope the chart is saying BS.

Pointing out a flaw is subjective, however. What is a flaw to one is a positive to another. No matter what, there is no reason to ridicule another's ideas or opinions. Disagree? Absolutely, but in a respectful way.

How do you know? You'd have to talk to the authors to know the real truth. I take it you haven't.
I demonstrated it by showing how Hill's text differed from the mimeographed text which Jones gave out to his students (which apparently differs somewhat from Jones' Sabian Symbol book). Tweeking the symbols changes the images.

I never said I saw a huge, massively destructive earthquake in there. I simply thought it was interesting to read how the sabian for that degree applied to the question. I thought it was spooky because it was obvious to me how it spoke to the question
.
The huge, massively destructive earthquake is implied in the question and the thread title: ?9.0 Earthquake in Pacific Northwest this December?? A quake specifically stated as 9.0 is nearly as disastrous as it gets. A predicted quake of 5.0 doesn't nearly carry as much fear factor and is less likely to drive us to horary.

First sabian ; "There may have been too much weight given to the needs of society and now it is time to redress the balance." It says to me that a shifting needs to happen, that there has been an unbalance in the way we live our lives, and indeed, the earth is a living and breathing organism and will respond to the energies of the societies living upon it. We've been ruining our environment for years, and now could be the time to 'redress the balance.
'
It's getting confusing. I thought that was a commentary on the first sabian symbol written by Lynda Hill. I thought the actual symbol from Ms. Hill was "A student of nature lecturing revealing little-known aspects of life". If a person is going to use the symbols, it's important to distinguish the actual symbol ? the material one works with ? from any commentary and opinions concerning it.
