Autumn Equinox 2008

Astro*Cartography - as introduced by Jim Lewis

Here is the Astro*Cartography chart for the Autumn Equinox Sep 22. 2008. I thought this might inspire the group to monitor some of the mundane and political activities going on in the world for the coming semester.

Readers may notice with some interest how Saturn is located on the Upper Meridian of Wall Street and New York. Jupiter appears to be on the Ascendant and the Moon on the Descendant just north of Great Britain. Anyone picking up on some current activity may feel free to comment.

Total Solar Eclipse of Aug 1. 2008

Here is also the Astro*Cartography Chart for this August's Total Solar Eclipse.

Norwegian enthusiasts hired a charter plane and travelled up to the path of totality, which went just north of Spitzbergen. This map may be viewed on another link: http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3627

Reykjavik, Iceland, was hit by an Earthquake measuring 6,1 on Richters scale on May 29., which was the largest quake since June 2000. The quake occured a little bit in excess of 2 months prior to the solar eclipse, but it might be interesting to note Pluto on the lower meridian of Iceland, which is significant for the additional pressure.

The opposition of Mars and Uranus occurs on a meridian that travels through Iran and Afganistan.

Andrew,

I'm not used to reading a chart Like this, can you write a few pointers? for instance what do the lines with planets on them mean? is that the path which you can see that planet on the earth as the earth turns or??

I dont want to just try to figure it out without some guidlines.

thank you,

Granny

Example: The chart for the total solar eclipse.
Find the symbols of the Sun and the Moon along the top rim of the chart. Then follow the red line that goes down through the chart. The total solar eclipse will be on the upper meridian (on the MC) for all locations under this line. Notice how the line goes strraight through Finland and close to Kauhajoki where the recent school masacre took place.

The symbols along the lower chart rim indicate those location that the planets are on the IC at the moment of the eclipse. The Uranus line can bring about explosions or earthquakes - see how the line goes up through Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Saturn lines can depress matters, but the lines of Mars and Pluto can cause riots, violence or matters that tend to boil over. The lines of the benefics are assumed to be more pleasurable and auspicious, particularly if you are travelling about the planet. Your own personal Astro*Cartography Chart is interesting to study in this respect. I would recommend a book of Jim Lewis, i.e The Astro*Cartography Book of Maps (Lewis and Guttman). I am sure there are others that can be recommended

Okay I see those lines, they are straight up and down, What are the Curved lines? Also there was an earthquake 2 days before eclipse in Ca, near Los angeles. Not too much damage, but it was fairly solid quake, mars and uranus both seem to have lines there?

I will look for the astrocartography book, thank you for the pointers

For the Autumn Equinox, the partile conjunction of Mars/Mercury rises in Southern California, very close to Los Angeles. This would seem to describe a shake-up, and yet this is the chart for the equinox, which occured after the eclipse.

Check the chart for the eclipse as well! Mars/Uranus on the meridian and Pluto on the descendant. Something tells me that eclipses are more potent to stirr up quakes and stuff, more than ingress charts. Although I made a series of successful earthquake predictions on Uranus ingress to Capricorn in Desember of 1988. The Moon was in Libra. Armenia was the first nation out with a devastating quake!

On September 25:

Notice in the August eclipse chart how Pluto is on the lower Midheaven of Iceland! And now their president has proclaimed the republic to be in a state of bankruptcy! Oh dear, indeed!
