Saturn - Uranus and USA 1762 1 by Tom I'm having heart palpitations thinking about Uranus of all planets, and writing this, but here goes. I'm sitting in front of my computer reading various news articles wondering if the world will make it until 2012 when the Mayans tell us it ends. The riots in Greece are getting worse, but the US seems to be setting the pace for loopy behavior. The financial irresponsibility in the US on all fronts, labor, management, and government beggars belief; the arrest and exposure of the Illinois governor for corruption in and of itself is not that big a deal when one considers three recent Illinois governors have all done time, but the scandal threatens to spread all over the place. The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in the Congress, the committee that writes our tax laws, is covered in accusations that he violated tax laws at every conceivable jurisdiction: local, state, federal, Washington DC, and international, and the Speaker of the House is apparently circling the wagons to protect him. California, who threw out a governor because of his irresponsible fiscal acts, is now in worse shape than it would have been, had the original policies been followed. Oh and a woman wants to televise her husband's suicide. Even one of the few positive notes is a surprise: a long time corrupt, indicted member of the House was defeated by the child of a Vietnamese immigrants in a special election. So what's going on? Well Uranus, is sitting smack on the USA 1762 MC (although this has nothing to do with Greece, I don't think). This is the chart of the grand conjunction of 1762 that took place prior to American Independence. That chart has an MC of 18 Pisces 29 and Uranus is sitting at 18 Pisces 49 as these words are written. Saturn is opposing Uranus at this time at 21 Virgo 22 which happens to be almost exactly on the antiscion of 1762 Uranus. There is a lot more to be done with this, but it sure seems to make this chart relevant. 2 by Andrew Bevan Interesting chart, Tom. Our astrological refrences claim that Greece is ruled by Virgo. In a general sense, couldn't Uranus opposing Saturn in Virgo cause dissatisfactions getting out of hand? I often observe that some meaning and determination of location gathered from the signs traditionally alotted to the nations, combined with the mundane specifics as you provided, can give quite an accurate picture of what is going on and where. Maybe the Grand conjunction of 1762 has a wider global significance than the American Independence, although the American Independence was a result of this significance. The importance of the Grand Conjunction could be emphasised due to it occuring in the sign of Aries. Turning the 1762 chart and Pluto comes within 2 degrees of the lower Meridian when calculated for Athens. This chart has Asc 0LI09 and MC 0CN11. I took a quick look at one of the charts for Greece given by Nick Campion" Modern Greece July 24, 1974 4:00 AM -2 hrs Athens, Greece This gives an ASC of 13 Cancer and an MC of 24 Pisces. The ASC - DSC axis squares the 1762 conjunction itself, and the MC IC axis is in the same signs as the current Uranus - Saturn opposition. Then I took a little liberty with normal mundane technique and did a solar return for the 1974 chart. The ASC - DSC axis is 18 Virgo Pisces. Morin teaches us that it is highly significant when angles repeat. In this case the "natal" MC - IC axis finds itself on the ASC - DSC of the return chart bringing attention to the natal chart and activating it. In this chart transiting Uranus is smack on the 7th cusp (the people) while transiting Saturn is close by the ASC. This return ASC DSC is right on the nodal axis of the 1974 chart, too. The current lunar return has Pluto smack on the IC of the return chart. The signs on the four angles of the solar return are now on angles in the lunar return. 4 by margherita I gave a look to the solar eclipse of 1st August for Greece. It was not visible from Greece, but I hope some authors consider eclipses even if not visible, Ephaestio and Rethorius for example talk about eclipses below the horizon, so I took this liberty... Rulers of eclipse are: Sizygy: Mercury, by terms and aspect Following angle (Ascendant): Mars by domicile and terms MC: Saturn by terms (and face). No planets behold angles other than the synod. Both the malefics - and rulers of angles- are in Virgo, which rules Greece. There is no benefit from benefic planets: Venus makes no aspect and Jupiter in trine to Mars and Saturn is very weak, being retrograde and in its fall, hardly can help. Mercury ruler of the eclipse is combust and invisible. The eclipse falls in the tenth house, so it means kings and government; Mercury rules the eleventh -the hope of the nation- from Deborah Houlding - and the ninth house- higher education. Riots started because Government is planning a school reform and culminated with the murder of a 15 years old boy. (In Italy unfortunately we know quite well this kind of things too) When Mercury rules the eclipse - Ptolemy writes - "this planet increases the respective impulses of them all. And, in regard to the operation of the event on mankind, it will promote industry and skill in business; but, at the same time, thievish propensities, robberies, and assaults and attacks" And this sounds like Greek Prime Minister could talk about what is going on in his country, while Rethorius says that "the damage will be between merchants, scholars and those who practise a mercurial art. " (CCAG VII, Bezza translation) The boy was killed on 6th December at 9:00 pm. South node was on eclipse, and Saturn on Mars of the Eclipse chart.
