13 by Gunhilde Regardless of the past, their current status is that he is married and she is only a friend, i.e. he is her married friend. That was the choice he made. You cannot now call him her lover unless she wants to know if that is what he is in fact seeking. However, even though he is now officially a 'friend', I still would not use the 11th for him; he is an ex-lover, or perhaps still even a 'lover' in the querent's mind, since the break-up was due to extraneous circumstances over which the querent had little control. Like Yuzuru, I would still use the 1st/7th axis for this question. Questions are posed from the querent's point of view; and I doubt that the querent considers this man a 'friend'. An ex-lover, perhaps, but not a friend. That's too Scandinavian! The combust, detrimented Moon in the 12th is probably the final answer, anyway. GH Quote Thu Jan 08, 2009 9:00 am
14 by dlynne Thank you, Gunhilde and Steven, for your very interesting and insightful comments. I plan to read up on the the traditional writers and how they analyze horarys when a third party is involved. I posted another chart in this forum -- Will this lawsuit settle? In that case there was a plaintiff and 2 separate defendants. In order for the lawsuit to settle, the plaintiff and the defendants had to reach an agreement, and a separate agreement had to be reached between the 2 defendants -- all simultneously. I have a hard time finding the 3rd party in 3 party situations like this. Quote Thu Jan 08, 2009 1:06 pm

I know this situation must sound like a cliche, but in fairness to the parties involved, it was not all black and white[/quote] Hi, dlyne Just to point out that, although members of the forum has their opinion, and many are of the best quality, things that you are not going to find in any book or course, the final judgements is always of the astrologer which received the question. So the responsability of these three points are always for the astrologer: 1- will I receive this question? (which is more and more dismissed as a simple point) 2- what is the real question ? and 3 - what will be the proper answer to the querent. As you are the one who received the question, you are the only person who can really answer it to the client, and should take our advises as advises. Steven, I agree with Gunhilde... the woman hasn?t speak with this man for at least 4 years, they are not "friends". In reality, I have made a review of some hundred charts and to my surprise, a lot of question about "friends" turned out to be answered by the 7th house of acquaintances. As Kirk said elsewhere, people have lost the sense of friendship, but horary charts apparently like to make things clear :-) Meu blog de astrologia (em portugues) http://yuzuru.wordpress.com My blog of astrology (in english) http://episthemologie.wordpress.com Quote Thu Jan 08, 2009 3:13 pm
16 by Gunhilde But steven, they weren't ever friends; they were lovers. That is a 7th house matter. When two lovers split, they don't automatically become friends; most become 'ex-lovers', which is still a 7th house matter! That they haven't spoken in four years doesn't relegate them to 'friends', either; they are still 'ex-lovers' who haven't spoken in four years, and have now decided, for whatever reason, to do so. 17 by cosmicdolphin Steven I think the other person is 7th house. A. as GH said because of the lovers situation. B. there was no communication between 2 people in a long time I think we should test both angles and see what describes the other person. I am afraid i cannot add much Happy New Year!
