Is it over? 13 by voyagergirl Considering 5th house: -Mercury is under Sun's beams-in 12th house and collides into Uranus-co-ruler of intercepted Aquarius in 1st with a square aspect. I thought about the applying square to Uranus, but then thought that in traditional horary, one doesn't use the outer planets... am I mistaken about that? On the other hand, Mercury and Uranus are separating by 10 degrees, so that could represent the 10 or 11 days that past until I got the letter. Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:04 am
14 by dlynne I am a romantic, and had my own long-term affair with a much younger man. I can't resist this question. I am using the first chart that you posted: Is it over? December 17, 2008, 9:17 am, Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am trying to learn horary astrology, so take my analysis with a grain of salt. Also, I am studying horary by traditional methods, using primarily Lilly and John Frawley as guides. My conclusion is that no, it is not over. You will reconcile, but in the long run you may have mixed feelings about the relationship. Your significator, saturn, is in the 8th house. The lover is represented by the 7th house and the moon, its significator. (In the traditional method, the 5th house represents the amusement brought about by love affairs, but not lover himself). Saturn is strong; the moon is peregrine, but in an angular house. This suggests that although the lover may have his problems, he does have the upper hand in this relationship at the moment. The moon is 4 degrees from entering the 8th house, where saturn is found. Frawley says that if a planet is 5 degrees from entering a house, you may consider the planet found in that house as well as the house it actually sits. The moon will trine mercury, and then conjunct saturn. Obviously, this is the reunion between you and the lover. Lilly, on p. 319, discussing whether a banished sweetheart or wife shall live with "him" again or not, and be received back into favor, states: "If the moon be decreasing light, and in her second or last quarter, and not near the sun beams, but beholding the ascendant, she will return with much ease and quickly." Here, the moon will trine the ascendant and is decreasing in light (I am not sure what Lilly means about the second quarter, though, because this would be an increase of light.) Your lover will return. However, the conjunction takes place in the 8th house, which is the house of loss. After the moon conjuncts saturn, the moon will square mars, and trine jupiter, in its fall, on the ascendant. Finally, the moon squares the sun at the same time in trines the ascendant, which is conjunct to jupiter in its fall. This indicates that the reunion will be a mixed blessing. Again, assessing the planets, by this time the moon will have moved into the 8th house. Saturn is strong, and the moon peregrine, no longer in an angular house. You, the querent, represented by Saturn will have the upper hand in the end, I think. Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:55 am
15 by pankajdubey Hi Voyagegirl, My understanding is that this is a horary forum and not necessarily a Traditional astrology forum-so I just let it rip But,it is always a good idea to start with fewer variables and then add on as needed.Modern horary will use the extra saturnine planets the traditionalists will use reception, essential dignities, strictures, moieties etc so I am not sure if the variables are reduced ! .If you are using traditional horary then many would suggest to use 7th house and analyze the chart as 1-7 rather than 1-5. you are not obliged to use it.What I was trying to suggest was that you can explain the events with either. Mercury to Uranus is an applying square(distance 10 degree),Neptune is in 1st.But, Mercury in 12th under sun's beam would explain his state of mind. If you know his birth particulars then synastry may be the thing to try and it might explain the dynamics a bit better. best wishes PD Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:59 am
Is it over 16 by voyagergirl Mercury to Uranus is an applying square (distance 10 degree), Neptune is in 1st. But, Mercury in 12th under sun's beam would explain his state of mind. But Mercury is not applying to a square to Uranus! Mercury is at 8 Capricorn and Uranus is at 18 Pisces. So it's an applying sextile, not a square. However, in reviewing Barbara Watters' book, "Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events" she notes that Uranus can indeed signify a broken relationship if a significator is in bad aspect to it. She also uses the 5th house rather than the 7th to signify a lover. She also uses the Moon as a co-significator of the querent and the event itself. Going by her method, I would judge that since the Moon first trines Mercury (my former lover), then opposes Uranus, it shows the sudden break in the relationship. But then the Moon squares both the Sun and Mars in quick succession before coming to a trine to Jupiter, as its last aspect. (The Moon is not besieged, which is good). The Moon in Virgo disposes of Mercury, which in turn is disposed of by Saturn. Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:17 am
17 by pankajdubey Apologies! got carried away by those squares. You are right Moon can be used that way but I was thinking of Moon being able to translate light from Mercury to Saturn(given the distance between the Mercury and Saturn was significant).Beware, there is difference of opinion on various types of translation if light. Graeme Tobyn's article may help http://www.skyscript.co.uk/tobyn2.html PD Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 9:20 am
18 by Carol Hi voyagergirl, It looks like there is still quite a bit more to be played out in this relationship (which has already been described well by others, but aside from the horary standpoint, do you mind if I ask the sign, degree, and houses of your natal nodal axis (His are at 28-45 Aries in his 1st house, right?) I've found that nodal synastry is really valuable in understanding and getting the most out of what each individual relationship presents. Quote Sat Jan 10, 2009 6:34 pm

I've found that nodal synastry is really valuable in understanding and getting the most out of what each individual relationship presents. My north node is at 24 Capricorn in my 6th house, conjunct my moon at 28 Capricorn. My sixth house degree is at 23 Capricorn. Can you tell me more about "nodal synastry?" Quote Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:37 am
20 by Carol Regarding nodal synastry, I'm just in the process of learning about it, but with his birth data you gave, I get that your NN is in his 11th house, which means you just naturally highlight it, give him a boost, help him grow in 11th house matters, i.e., teaching him about true friendship (even if it's a romantic partner), equality, objectivity, seeing the bigger, more global picture, etc. And wherever his NN is in your chart (my guess is the 9th house, but I'm not sure), is the area he naturally enhances you. But sign-wise, your NN's exactly square each other, i.e., his 28-degree Aries and your 28-Cap., so you just have to be aware that your main paths to fulfillment are basically at odds and allow the other to grow in the way he/she is meant to, i.e., him developing healthy Aries stuff he's neglected in past life times, and you finding fulfillment by healthy Cap. stuff, etc. As I said, I'm relatively new to the subject (of nodal synastry), but so far I'm I've found it to be amazingly accurate. 21 by Carol Oops! That was your Moon at 28 Cap. and your NN at 24 Cap, but the aforementioned principle still holds, and your Moon would just add to it, so all the more reason to be aware of it and accept it and not try to change each other in that regard. Quote Sun Jan 11, 2009 4:20 am
22 by pankajdubey Some Horary vs Natal correspondences: In the horary, venus is conj NN in the 1st.In the birth chart of your friend-his Moon is in Libra and so is the Vertex. In horary 5th is Gemini(a sign ruled by Mercury) but a better correspondence comes from 7th lord Moon-which is in Virgo in horary and the natal sun of your friend is in Virgo as well. Maybe we need to concentrate on Moon Sqaure Uranus and Saturn to explain what happened. His troubles could be due to the Bucket pattern(All planets except saturn are bunched together) of asymmetrical aspects and Saturn in Aries retrograde as the singleton planet. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/aspects2.html He would have to find a way to cope with his Saturn. A good book to read would be "Essentials of Astrological Analysis" by Marc Edmund Jones. As you are reading Lehman's books-look at the 12th house charts in M.A.H.A 12th lord Jupiter in 1st could also indicate witchcraft I think I have taken apart this horary as much as I could. Thanks for sharing this horary. PD Thank you for your assessment of the chart! I really appreciate it. I think the Moon in Virgo in the horary chart coming to an opposition to Uranus may show the "panic attack" that he suddenly experienced on the last night we were together, and which led to his "break-up" letter. (Uranus rules things that are unexpected and disruptive, after all). Yes, I have read the MAHA by Lee Lehman, but I thought the "witchcraft" aspect in the chart she delineated was shown by the rulers of the 1st in each other's twelfth. But it's an idea! Thanks again! 24 by kerenhappuch Hi all, I just wanted to add my thoughts on one particular point made earlier in the thread - how can a break-up be shown by a conjunction? Well perhaps it's all about the context of that conjunction. An aspect shows things coming into contact - it doesn't tell us *what they do* when this happens! It's true that squares and especially oppositions are found to indicate a break up - but this has got me wondering now if in fact *any* aspect can show this outcome - perhaps a trine can show an easy "let's agree to mutually end things" type of split... Or a conjunction an intense coming together and then going separate ways - but slowly and gradually, depending on the speed of separation of the planets... I think perhaps reception, dignity and the context of the question are more important than the nature of the aspect. The aspect tells us the style in which they meet; it does not tell us what happens when they do... I don't have any example charts that immediately spring to mind here... It will be interesting to see the eventual outcome of this chart, to see what the conjunction may signify. Just my thoughts! Keren Quote Mon Jan 12, 2009 9:09 pm
