'Mad Professor' returns as Norwegian Football Coach
Image
On Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 10.30 CET, the Norwegian Football Association announced that the legendary Egil 'Drillo' Olsen, better know abroad as the 'Mad Professor', returns as coach for the Norwegian Football team. 'Drillo' is particularly recognized for his previous period as coach for the national team between 1990-1998 where the team beat Brazil 2-1 in the World Cup 1998. In 1997 Norway beat Brazil 4-2 at home in Oslo.

'Drillo' will first train the national team toward a private match against Germany on February 11., South-Africa on March 28. and Finland April 1. with an option of leading the team through the World Cup qualification rounds in 2009. The Norwgian team has not succeeded under the leadership of Aage Hareide or Nils Johan Semb and have fallen down in the Fifa ranking and are now located at a 58th position.

The Moon was in Virgo on Jan 14th. Mercury retrograde is the come-back kid. Will his application to Jupiter in Aquarius bring about some new magic for the national team? Drillo is born on April 22. 1942, Fredrikstad, Norway.

Well, I've just had one of those light bulb moments. A few minutes ago my Weather Watcher desktop program put out this severe weather alert, as it has several times a day for the past 4 days.
...AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST SUNDAY FOR THE LOWER INLAND VALLEYS OF NORTHWEST OREGON AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON...

AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST SUNDAY.

STRONG HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THROUGH THE WEEKEND...TRAPPING COLD AIR IN THE LOW ELEVATION VALLEYS OF INTERIOR NORTHWEST OREGON AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON.

LIGHT WINDS AND STAGNANT CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO ALLOW POLLUTANTS TO ACCUMULATE IN THE ADVISORY AREA THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN LOCALLY ESTABLISHED CRITICAL VALUES OF TRANSPORT WINDS...MIXING HEIGHT...AND VENTILATION ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST FOR AT LEAST 72 HOURS.
How's that for Mercury retrograde in Fixed Air Aquarius! It wasn't until now that I saw the connection with Andrew's first post:
I seem to observe extreme weather patterns when Mercury is stationary. It is almost as if the air is either at a total standstill, or you want to think twice before sticking your head outside with the risk of getting your top blown off
.

So here's another example for you Andrew. :'

I tried to get hold of a telephone number from the Norwegian telephone catalogues on the internet this morning at 09.00 GMT as Mercury made its 2nd station at 07.11 GMT. Quite appropriately the services were down due to a system upgrade. Services are expected to be resumed at 12.00 GMT.

I have had problems sending SMS messages the last few days.
Better check the telephone line and make sure I can dial. :-?

Merc R definately has significance for Australian SPort = Nadal beat Federer prior to that he set a record at 5hrs and 14 min to beat his country man - records set all over the place. Sth Africa beat the AUssies easily( Cricket) and NZ also has beaten the Aussies - I could find the post re this in the sports & Speculation bit.... Re extreme weather and Merc R ( stationary) In Australia a cyclone has just crossed the QLD coast ( wasnt too destructive though) bringing half a metre of rain. In Vic houses lost due to really bad bushfires. Melb broke its own record being x 3 days over 43 degrees Celsius, train rails buckled transport thrown into chaos. On the SA peninsular it reached 51 degrees Celsius The tropical monsoon is a virtual no show record LOW rainfall .....

I definitely need to check some dates, then. Normally getting a centimetre of snow once every six or eight years is an event around here, but in December we started plunging into the minus degrees of temperature and having blizzards. Had another snowstorm yesterday, and it's still not exactly warm out, though we're getting above zero most days, thankfully.

For some reason, I hadn't even thought of astrology. Then again, looking out the window and seeing a metre of snow on the ground here is likely to distract anybody. :-?

Interesting.
