The favorable application of the lights 1 by astrolabe999 Hi everyonel, If an unimpeded trine or sextile aspect between the moon and the sun occurs, this is suppose to be the "favorable application of the lights", and in horary this is supposed to indicate a favorable outcome to the question. What if, say, the sun is in detriment in 25 degrees Aquarius and there is only a weak reception by the moon (by face)at the the degree the sun is in. Is this still favorable? Thank you for some clarification ahead of time. Quote Sat Feb 14, 2009 7:19 am
2 by PFN I'd say that whatever the Sun represents is powerless to act in regards of the matter. That happened not long ago when the Moon was in Libra if I remember correctly. If the Sun is in a good position like MC or AC, I'd disregard it's detrimental position a bit, if on a cadent house, I'd say that even with the aplicattion, things will not come to fruition. 3 by Tom Although I have no problem with this question being asked here, you might get more responses if it were posted in the Horary Forum. Tom Quote Sat Feb 14, 2009 5:30 pm

5 by Andrew Bevan If the Sun receives the Moon by trine and is located in her face, I do not see why this aspect should not work with benefit. However, the solar principle IS weak, since the Sun is debilitated in BOTH Aquarius and Libra. Additionally, you might consider that the Moon casts her sinister aspect to the Sun, which is a little bit more like a gamble, sometimes unreliable, but it could indicate a lucky and fluke happening - more so then if the aspect is dexter. I have occasionally, in horary astrology, rendered applying trines as useless due to the significators being located in cadent houses. The penny is there but it is likely to either be out of reach or covered up by 1,5 metres of water.
