I agree with most of what you say except the translation by Moon which separates from venus to apply to mercury and then to mars.

I can accept it translating light from Venus to Mercury or Mercury to Mars but have a little bit of difficulty in accepting it as translating light from Venus to Mars.It seems to be carrying too many torches for me and a rolling translation which is carrying all the lights it possibly can.

This is why I would rather call moon as consecutive application rather than a translation.Moon denotes the three actions that happened.

Judging the condition or colour of the car to find radicality is not entirely unusual-it is a part of judgment in the Olivia Barclay horary you posted-even though that was not the question to her.

I am more curious on your interpretation of translation and if that is the classical version of translation.Would you call mercury's movement as translation or not?

It maybe of interest to note that Henry Coley in his book Key to the whole art of Astrology, gives a reference that if someone wants to buy or hire a ship he should look at 1st and 7th house for buyer and seller, 4th house for ship and 10th for tackling and mast.
Page 169, chapter on 4th house questions.

HI PD, technically speaking, a true translation of light must be without intervention of a third planet. Here, the Moon should be separating from Venus and applying immediately to Mars. That would be a "clean" translation. Technically speaking, again, the intervention of Mercury should be considered a "frustration" but it is not because this planet has a role in the question, as ruler of the 2nd house (of querent's money affairs IMO), so the Moon translates from Venus via Mercury to Mars. She connects all the planets. On the other hand, Mercury is a translating planet as well because it carries "light" (energy) from Venus to Mars ie it connects them. It could also be your possesion (your 2nd ruler) going from you (1st ruler) to the other party (7th ruler). But we can't get the Moon out of the picture simply because she's there! She's the quickest of all so she, in the end, performs the main task. If the 3rd ruler were not involved, you could rightly say that Mercury translates the light, but here they're just all intertwined. These's often a case in horary charts when the Moon applies from one significator to another but meets a third planet before that - and there comes the big task to decide, whether this planet is a "helper" or a "frustrator"! An opposition to Saturn would surely be a frustration, whereas a trine to Jupiter, ruling some fortunate house etc., can be viewed as helpful, and therefore doesn't prevent the "light" getting to where it's going. Is that OK with you? Please don't call this "the final word". You've brought out this chart and some valuable points with it.
