Is Moon in 8H always bad?

1
I asked a question on an approaching interview - will I get this job and chart ruler is Moon which ended up in 8H along with 10H ruler Jupiter in same house although far from conjunction.

Few positive things I see -

POF in 11H of hopes and wishes conjunct 3H ruler Sun
NN conjunct Moon - NN is positive outcome and SN negative, right?
AC is in Cardinal - outcome gets decided soon

Can't make much of dignities - both are in Saturn's sign and Saturn is R conjunct IC. Mars and Venus in 10H and Venus is exalted and rules 5H - 5H is skills required for job? Mars rules 11H - not too sure how I should take this.

Can someone help me please?

Yes, i'd say that Moon in 8th house is always bad. Then we go and see how bad and/or bad for whom.

In your case, the interview is represented by Mercury, in the 11th, I'd say. Although the Moon is received by exaltation and Mercury is in it's triplicity in Aquarius, there is no aspect between your significator and Mars, that rules the Job.

The 8th means loss, money loss ultimately. The interviwer is probably represented by Saturn. The Sun represents your income, among other things, and it flees from Jupiter, which is expansion, so the meaning of this chart would be that you get your hopes high, but ultimately will not be accepted on this specific job. The Moon will make an aspect with the Sun just as it enters Taurus, so I think that maybe another something may come your way (the Sun is peregrine in Taurus, still, it exalts the Moon through reception).

Now, please, I work mainly with these internet charts, and rarely do I see any feedback here on skyscript. If you get the answer, sooner or later, come back and publish it, so that we can know if we are getting it right or not.

The querent is shown by the Moon on the cusp of the 8th house. Lilly says that '...it signifies fear and angiush of mind'. In this case it looks like true: the querent feels anxious about the interview and the impression he/she will make upon the interviewer.

The job is shown by Jupiter. Before the Moon applies to Jupiter, it meets Mercury on the way. That is the prohibition. But if we take Mercury as the significator for the interview (it serves good here though the interview is a 7th house thing, I think), this prohibition seems to be a necessary condition for getting a job, i.e. you won't get this job without interview.

Let's have a look at the receptions. It looks strange but as far as I can see the querent (Moon) is not interested both in the interview (Mercury) and the job (Jupiter). I dare to suppose that the querent will change his/her mind and will not go to the interview.

Thanks so much for quick replies.

Mojo, You right about fear and anguish of mind - been jobless from last 15 months a stupid long break for edu which I am not able to break.

Why did you say querent is not interested in job? Jupiter and Moon are in same sign - that looks like to be of same mind to me. As for my interest in going to interview, highly unlikely I miss this one - I do not much like the job but there is no other option and this is some work I have done earlier. Unless I get another job offer by then :)

PFN,
I could not get why Mercury is interview, can you please clarify?

I got the point that its the stopping factor here or some obstruction, but not able to figure out what it might be. Since Sun rules 2H I had a doubt they will offer too less and I might get disappointed. Or as you said, mean time I get another call which may offer me more. I know I am getting too optimistic here, in fact close to day dreaming :D

But thanks again so much. I promise what ever is outcome I will update it here first :)

It's a good remark. I missed it. Under 'not interested in job' I meant 'that very job' and you says
I do not much like the job
Now this chart seems more clear to me. I'd rather say that you'll get this job than not.

I wrote an answer about 2 hours ago and it got lost!

Anyways, I was wondering why you would take Mercury as a significator o the interview, PFN? Because it rules comunications? And why Mars? It is the ruler of the ruler of the 11th and of the Scorpio intercepted in the 5th.

Just asking! :)))

as for the Moon in the 8th- I don't think the Moon being inside that house is a sign enough of a denial as uncomfortable as it may be having it there.
though I lack the experience in Horary to draw any conclusions at this stage, I must say that in most such charts that I've seen so far, its placement there was suggesting pretty much what it would be suggesting in a,say, solar return chart- anxiousness, lacking the feeling of selfesteem etc. depending of the question. (Questions about the next relationship asked in the middle of a emotional turmoil, questions about the incomes in the period of severe debts etc., I believe there was a similar example recently here on the forum as well regarding the querent's health issue- she was overly concerned about her heart condition and anxious about it).

Since it is very hard to exclude the money factor from a "job question" (that's what we are working for) and given that the Moon (L1) is placed inside that house it would be interesting to know for how long has the Querent been unemployed (or even broke? :) ). It's the house of other people's money and debts as well.

As for the job, and the question was whether the Querent would get it- it is IMHO ruled by the Jupiter and it has just left the 8th house. And, though the Moon will soon start applying to it, unfortunatelly,it will first meet Mercury. even when it comes to incomes (and, regardless of whether you chose to examine them throught the 2nd or the 11th house, though I'd generaly chose the first option) , the Moon has started separating from both the Sun (L2) and the Mars (L11).

But, the Moon will conjuct the ruler of the 10th before leaving the sign which is good, I believe plus, there's still this Mercury. It is basically a prohibitor in this case but it's also the first plant the Moon will perfect an aspect with and there's a rather strong mutual reception between them, I'm not sure what that could mean as it is the ruler of the 12th and the 4th and it involves the 4th house by aspecting the Saturn on its cusp as well. I guess it should be telling something.

Besides the fact that Mercury is a universal significator for communication, interviews and the like, it does rule the 3rd. And sitting on the cusp of 3rd is Saturn, that rules 7th. Saturn represents boundaries, limits and walls. A good description for a chooser. And Saturn is disposited by Mercury, and alongside rules you (and your fate).

Edit: just now I noticed that I commited a mistake... 10th house ruler is not Mars, it's Jupiter. I'm so used to horaries in the southern hemisphere that this pattern for higher latitudes confuses myself. In this case, she probably gets the job. The part of the interview assigned to Mercury I still keep, since it's the Moon next aspect, still I commited a mistake on the rulerhip on this one as well, so not so sure on my previous delineation. Sorry for my lack of attention. Oh gosh, I hate when I do that. Thanks for pointing my mistake Aglaya (though in a very subtle way ^_^).

:) Thanks PFN and Agalya.

Oh, I am in deep debts, lost track of how much I owe to people and banks too. Praying fervently for job, I hope Moon in 8H means just that and not that I will take more time to get a job.

But that's good news at last. I have a sixth sense this interview might work but then just as pointed out here some thing is to me done before I get the job, not sure what it is. Saturn fits well as interviewer but I am a little worried about Moon perfecting aspect with 12H ruler first. Let us see how it turns out to be.

What all things 12H ruler can be? I have had this Mercury as 3H ruler and some connection to 12H in all my charts in last 6 months. Been struggling to figure out what it can be. Seen a psychic too, some one cursing me pulling me back or some thing like that it seems

Hope it is nothing serious :)

:) Cool, I did guess you used Mercury as a universal significator of dialogues, communications and interviewes but that Mars was really confusing me! ;-)

As fot the subtle way :) -
I actually thought it was a new approach! :) ;-)

When I understood your question right, then the coming interview is for certain. If this interview would be signified by Saturn (Lord 7, 'partners', or Saturn as Lord 9 = 3 of 7, 'communication, interview' of partners) then there is no aspect between Moon and Saturn.

But when the interview is a fact, then it has to to be seen in the radix. And it is: As already mentioned by you, Mercury is lord 3 (your communication) and lord 12 (= 3 of 10 which is the communication of your quesited job as well as the communication or the interview of/with your future chief or boss.

Normally the Moon's square to Mercury would hinder the coming conjunction with Jupiter, but - as already mentioned before by you - the interview has to take place, without interview no job. The critical square is overcome by mutual reception: Mercury beeing in the exaltation and face of the Moon, and the Moon being a) in the term of Mercury now and b) in the face of Mercury at the perfection of the square then.

That the conjunction between Moon (you) and Jupiter (the job) is beyond orbs at the moment could be problematic, but should be healed by the intermediary aspect between the Moon and Mercury.

Well, it's usually the Saturn to cause delays, rather than the Moon. But, like I said, the L1 inside the 8th especially in a job question which has got a lot to do with finances of course is a good sign that you're worried about this current financial situation. You want the job because you need the money, and you need the money because you're in deep debts (I know what it feels like)- so, your main concern is how to get back on your feet and pay back the loans (other people's money). That's where your concentration and thoughts went- into the 8th.
The cusp of the 8th is also in a mutable (unstable) sign.
as for the "fear and anguish of mind" , anxiety and other symbolics of the Moon's placement there- it's expected in a such situation. Along with the 12th house, of course. Though I believe that the Mercury in this chart is more than just the ruler of the 12th (4th house could be important here too, the Moon will soon apply to Mercury, it will happen before your significator meets the L10... ) your current state of mind and mental shape have probably got a lot to do with the symbolics of the 12th house now. Though, some background activities could be taking place (not suggesting they will). :)
So, its the Mercury that will meet L1 before she "hits" the L10, not the Sun. But, like i said, there's also a strong mutual reception between the two planets. When Mercury is examined as a planet of communications in general, like PFN is suggesting- maybe (maybe!) it's the interview that will not go well (though, I'm not at all sure I'm anywhere near the truth here as there's a strong mutual reception between the planets)! But you might want to try unraveling the possible 4th house influence here!

I still do believe that the fact that the Moon will conjuct the Jupiter before leaving the sign should be good. Maybe it won't be this job but I'd say there should be some job especially since the Moon will then form a sextile with the Sun (your money), so, the last aspects the Moon will make bvefore leaving the sign look rather promissing to me.

Oh, and, yes, the North node/L1 conjuction should be good news!
Just my 2 pence! ;-)
