A couple years ago I was injured. I knowI'm being vague but it is a complicated situation, and I have held off doing anything about it. I need to know if I can win at court, because the statute of limitations is drawing near.
I asked the horary question last year. I dont have years of experience in horary , but I dont like the "look" of the chart. It seems like the judge is going to favor my opponent. The attacker is exalted in the sign the judge is in. ( Judge is the Sun in 2 degrees Taurus in my 6th and my opponent is the Moon in Scorpio in my first house.)
What is the retro Saturn in 1 degree Virgo in the Tenth house all about? Is the judge going to delay the trial? This is the planet that rules the end of the matter 4th house. Is the trial going to be rescheduled so that I have no definite answer for now?
Should I go to trial?

the matter will be delayed , you will feel dejected, but dont get disheartned because ultimately it will be in your favour.

RETROGRADE SATURN WILL WORK WHEN IT WILL COME IN DIRECT MOTION AND CROSS THE SAME DEGREE AT THE TIME OF JUDGEMENT.
SECONDLY WHEN SATURN ASPECTS MOON ( INDIAN TRADTIONAL ASPECT, SATURN ASPECTS MOON WHEN MOON IS IN 3-7-10 SIGN FRON SAT.} IT DELAYS THE MATTER.

Sun L10 - judge.
Saturn L4 - verdict.
Jupiter L2 - querent's lawyer and witnesses.
Mercury L8 - opponent's lawyer and witnesses.
Moon - the people - maybe jury?

Considreations against judgement:
1. Hour ruler Mercury has no affinity with Mars L1, so the chart is not radical, although Mars in the 9th reflects a question in legal matters, Moon in Scorpio the 1st - reflects a question about physical injury, and Mercury LoH on the cusp of 7th reflects a question about a lawsuit.

2. Saturn Rx. in the 10th with South Node - the Querent may damage the reputation of the horary astrologer.

Which is stronger?
Mars L1 is in its triplicity and fall - dignified but underestimates his/her own chances.
Venus L7 is much weaker than Mars. It is in its own detriment, disposited by Mars L1, under Sunbeams and on the cusp of the unfortunate 6th - its own derived 12th.

So Mars L1 is stronger, and Venus knows that and thinks Mars will win.

Sun L10 is peregrine (bad judge) , in Venus' rulership and Mars' detriment. Judge favors the opponent over the querent. But Sun in the 6th has no power to act.

Saturn L4 is in Venus' fall, so will harm the opponent.

Moon is in its fall in the Mars' house and sign, applying to sextile benefic Jupiter in Mars' exaltation. Mars and Jupiter are in mutual reception by exaltation, applying to an opposition, while Moon accelerates and softens this by TOL. Moon and Mars are in mutual reception by rulership.

PoF is in Aries in the 6th of the querent's house of illness. Its dispositor is Mars. Mars to Jupiter (L2) aspect might suggest money coming into querent's pocket due to a health problems.

Querent has better chances of winning
Venus applies to square Mars, its dispositor, so opponent might try to come to agreement outside court.

But I might be absolutely wrong, as the strictures suggest.

The reason I asked about the degree of the AC is because you say that the time zone is Pacific Standard Time. PST puts a later degree on the AC, and the planets were not in the houses as you describe them. Pacific Daylight Time, however, puts the planets in the houses as you describe, and gives the 12+ Scorpio ascendant.

I am not a terribly experienced horary astrologer, but I?m not a beginner, either. I am currently studying Frawley?s Horary Textbook, so I will read your chart using his method.

First off, we assign the significators. You are represented by Mars as Lord 1 and by the Moon in Scorpio. Your attacker is represented by Venus as Lord 7. Do NOT give the Moon to the other side, even though it is almuten of the 7th house cusp. The moon is always co-significator of the querent, unless the Moon is needed to signify some other person or thing relevent to the question. In this case, you can keep the moon because it is not needed elsewhere.

The judge is signified by the Sun in Taurus, and the verdict is represented by Saturn in the 10th.

Now, we must look at the strengths and weaknesses of each side. Your significators are in the signs of their fall. This condition makes sense--you?ve been injured, so you are not at your best.

Your opponent Venus is in the sign of her detriment, Aries. This could suggest that your opponent is somehow weak, or perhaps not honest in some way. Interestingly, Venus in Aries is ruled by Mars, your significator. Your opponent believes that you are in a strong position, and he may want to give up. Frawley suggests that one pay careful attention to the qualifies of the signs. If the enemy is in cardinal sign, ?he will soon give up? (Horary Textbook, page 210). You have one significator in a cardinal sign, and one in a fixed sign--so part of you wants to give up, and part of you wants to hang in there. The ?hang in there? part of you is stronger, because the fixed Moon is in an angular house.

Now let?s look at the judge and the potential verdict. The judge is the Sun in Taurus. The Sun here is neither dignified nor debilitated, so the judge is not exactly brilliant, but at least he?s not corrupt. The judge really likes your opponent and your opponent is exeedingly deferential to the judge. The judge has mixed feelings about you. In some ways, he doesn?t like you that much, as Taurus is the sign of Mars detriment; in other ways, though, he is incredibly sympathetic to you, as Taurus is the sign of the Moon?s exaltation. The Judge?s significator is in the radical sixth house, suggesting to me that he looks very carefully at your injury. That?s what matters the most to him.

Finally, let us the examine the verdict, signified by Saturn in Virgo. Virgo is the fall of Venus, your opponent?s significator. Moreover, Venus is in Aries, the fall of Saturn. So, the verdict and the opponent hate each other. The verdict definitely does not favor the other side. Saturn is in the triplicity of the moon, your co-significator. So, while the verdict is not a huge win for you, it is certainly satisfactory.

Another thing to consider in a chart of this nature is whether it might settle out of court. I don't know enough about your situation to know if this is a possibility, but for the sake of argument, I will assume that it is. According to Frawley, we must look at aspects between Lord 1 and Lord 7. Venus is applying to a square with Mars, which suggests that your opponent may offer you some kind of settlement once the trial starts. Venus in Aries, the sign of your dignity, thinks that the offer is great for you. However, Mars is only in the terms of Venus--in your eyes, that offer is the absolute minimum you would consider. You might do better with the judge?s verdict than with the settlement.

Judgement: You have a decent chance of having things go your way, and you're in a much better position than your opponent.

I was using astro.com to cast the chart. That's how I came up with the Asc degrees. Daylight savings time is already taken care of, or am I wrong?
The mutual reception between Mars and Jupiter in an opposition with the Moon's TOL is ambiguous to me. Could you elaborate on that? Doesnt the opposition indicate if I do it I will regret it ? How much does the moon "soften" it?

I'm going to be pondering this some more. I know I'm in the right but the situation is complicated. If I win, there will be financial problems because the Jupiter connection with the 6th house is going to cease as a result and then I have to reapply for financial assistance. That is a huge problem in itself. I know that any money I receive is not really going to be very much...

You are correct that astro.com automatically makes the adjustment for daylight savings time. However, my astrology program doesn?t do this automatically--so I have to know whether the original chart was calculated using PST or PDT. And it was PDT.

Jupiter in this chart represents your lawyer and witnesses, not the verdict or the court case as a whole. We must look at the opposition and mutual reception in that light.

So, your lawyer is in your significator?s exaltation. That makes sense; he must think you have a strong case or he wouldn?t take you as a client. You?re in the exaltation of your lawyer?s significator. That also makes sense. You wouldn?t hire the lawyer if you didn?t think he was good. The kicker is that both planets are also in fall. So, the lawyer may not be as good as you think he is--in fact, he may not be a very good lawyer at all. And your case may not be as strong as your lawyer thinks it is--in fact, the lawyer may be way over-estimating the merits of your case. The opposition could indicate that maybe you?ll end up regretting the lawyer you hired. Or it could just indicate that you won?t use this lawyer again when the case is over.

Your opponent?s lawyer is Mercury in Taurus, the dignity of Venus. And this also makes sense--the opponent?s lawyer thinks that your opponent has a great case. Mercury is dignified by term and face, so this lawyer is adequate; he has decent ability but he?s not a legal genius. However, he is a better lawyer than yours, because Jupiter/your lawyer is in fall.

This lawyer?s significator is in a weird condition, though, because Mercury is combust. I?ve spent a good deal of time pondering what this might mean. Frawley?s book states that combustion is the absolute worst thing that can happen to a planet--it is incredibly weakening. One classical interpretation of combustion is ?blindness?--the person or thing the combust planet represents can neither see nor be seen. Now, under what condition would a lawyer ?not be seen? in a court case? Well, if he never gets to court, for one. The combustion of Mercury could be a testimony that the case settles, and so the judge never gets to see the lawyer present his side of the argument. Perhaps you end up settling out of court after all.

I am not sure how to interpret the translation of light from Mars to Jupiter via the Moon. I didn?t consider it that relevant, because in my interpretation I give you both Mars and the Moon--so you?re translating your own light to your lawyer. Maybe someone else has a better reading of that.

Here's one way to look at all of this: whether you go for a verdict in court, or settle out of court, this chart does indicate that you will get something for your trouble. You need to decide what you're more comfortable doing.

I have seen my share of questions about court, processes, etc, and I think it is very VERY important to consult a lawyer before doing the astrology!

The chart may seem lovely, but the lawyer may inform you that the costs are too high, or that the timing will be all wrong, etc.

I don?t you know if you already looked for legal counseling, but it is always worth the warning.
