Air France flight goes missing

1
Air France reported a plane went missing today at 03.44 BST, June 1. 2009. I suggest we update charts and make corrections as the story develops.

The plane that departed from Rio de Janeiros Galeao International Airport at approximately 19.00 hrs local time had 228 passengers aboard (crew included) and was due for Paris, France, with estimate arrival 11.10 CST. At 03.33 CST was the last radar contact with the aircraft as it past Fernando de Noronha Islands before entering an area with high turbulence. At 04.14 CST an automatic message of a fall in cabin pressure was received together with a warning of an electrical short circuit.

Where to start?
Here is a chart calculated for Fernando de Noronha where the plane last was observed on radar - but applying the time for when the automatic message was sent.

The Sun is in Gemini on the lower Midheaven. The Moon is in Virgo, another Mercury ruled sign, and last seperates from Saturn. She forms a perfect aspect to stationary Mercury (by trine) before moving into the opposition of Uranus. Does Mars' recent entry into Taurus add disturbance to Mercury?

As I said, I think we should add charts and remarks as the details become more clear. Oh dear, I do think such disasters are tragic. :(

Thanks for adding the chart Andrew. I don't feel like analysing the details right now but I'm sure that later I will want to look back at the pure astrology of the event, and I'll be glad that you kept the data for public record.

Seeing that this was a nocturnal chart, I reversed (according to the custom I practice) the calculation of the Part of Fortune (POF). This places the Part of Spirit (POS) at 22GE47.

On a mundane level I have quite a few observations where the Part of Spirit (POS) indicates Air travel ['The Spirit hovers across the Waters']. This chart shows the Moon casts a platick square to nocturnal POS at the time news was received of something going wrong.

I could not cast the chart because I could not understand which time and place I should use. According Italian newspaper 4:14 is the Italian time (maybe yours too?) so I'm following your chart.

Jupiter ruler of the ascendant in the 12th house in a malefic term obviously talks about disaster.

If we want add the partile conjunction with Neptune, which is not surely a benefic....

Gjiada,
There could potentially being something irregular with the data, as admitted. Newspapers occasionally give confusing or muddled up pictures or time zones, convertions etc.

A chart should be cast for departure.

We do not know where the plane was at the time it went down. That is why I took the location for where the aircraft was last observed together the time for when the signal of something going wrong was received.

Moon separating from Saturn in Virgo could be the short circuit. There is some speculation as to whether the craft was struck by lightening. I have no opinion on this, but maybe the Moon's trine to stationary Mercury provides a line of least resistance and then a technical overload and failure.

I'm not contesting your data, just I told I could not understand so well to cast mine and seeing rising or culminating stars and so on.

I agree, a stationary Mercury could act like a malefic. Stations are phases to the Sun, they are very strong.

AF 447 TAKE OFF

The chart of taking off is always important:
19.03 BZT2 Rio, Asc 6Cap54'
Uranus is exactly on IC, Pluto rising, Moon conj Saturn in 9th house, applying 180 to Uranus. Neptune and Jupiter, rulers of IC, exactly on 3rd cusp 90 stationary Mercury.
The most astounding aspects are in the heliocentric positions: Helio Mercury exactly on Asc and of course conj. Pluto, helio Mars exactly 90 helio Pluto (90 hit about 2 hours later) both angular. Moon conj. helio Saturn and MC.
Mars in 0 Taurus 01' only 44 minutes after entering to this sign. Besides being detriment, planets at the very beginning of the sign is always very powerful, but in that caseit operate in negative way: it is exactly 90 cusp 8th and SN!.

Notice that Mars, upon entering Taurus, engages in a tight sequi-quadrate with Saturn. Take the distance from the Ascendant to Saturn and subtract Mars, then this results in 21TA58, which is the Part of Accident and conjunct Mercury. Mercury is sequi-quardrate the Ascendant.

The sequi-quadrate does, in my experience, occur with unexpected and unforseeable problems from the external that the native, or captain in this instance, has no control over.

It would appear that something fatal happened and that the aircraft lost control as it was thrown in an unexpected direction.
