Here's another test chart with a known outcome. You can use it to test your skills as a horary astrologer.

The querent is a married career woman who already has one child and is going through fertility treatments, trying to get pregnant again.

Question: "Will I get pregnant soon ? If so, when?"

I'll make a stab at this, with the understanding that I am very much an amateur.

First off, the ascendant is very late, which suggests the question has already been decided.

The Ascendant is in Scorpio, very relevant to the question and ruled by Mars. Conception falls in the 4th house ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter in Scorpio is received by Mars which is moving towards a sextile with Jupiter. That's encouraging. Neither planet is in a sign it is strong in, but Mars is conjunct the MC which would give it some extra impact.

In addition the Moon ruler of the question and natural ruler of conception is in mutual reception with Venus in the 8th a house that seems to me to have some relevance to the question given the merging of genetic identity at conception.

Uranus which is placed in the 4th house of conception is just coming from a trine to the Moon's ruler (venus).

So my take would be the querant is already pregnant.

She will concieve within a month but the pregnancy will have complications.

Fruitful sign houses the ascendant and 7th lord venus-
They are in mutual reception by Fall and separating sextile- indicating the child they already have.

Luminaries applying to each other is generally a good thing.
Mars-rules 1st and 5th and applies to opposition of uranus(pisces- another fertile sign)- she may end up having multiple pregnacies and may also suffer loss.



There is one exception- if she is having eggs harvested then they ususally fertilize more than one and only implant one - so it is automatic destruction of rest- Uranus in pisces(fish- which generally lay multiple eggs) is quite indicative of this situation.

I'm not comfortable with the late Asc especially since I'm not sure I can find any testimony of the woman being with child at the time the question was asked but I'll give it a shot following Lily's rules of Pregnancy and Child's Birth.

The Querent is ruled by Mars and so ios the 5th house cusp so i'll use the Moon, the co-significator of the question and the natural significator of motherhood as the ruler of the Quesited in this case.

The reasons why I think the Querent was not pregnant at the time are:

- the Asc is in a fertile sign yet its ruler has has spent the previous period visitin a barren sign and has just entered another sign of the same nature
-the Moon is nowhere near the 1st house(the L1 isn't inside the 5th or 7th either)
-the Moon sqaring Venus in the 8th(woman but also Her dispositor)
-no aspect, TOL, COL or even mutual reception between the Moon and the the Ascendant ruler
-Jupiter (natural significator of children) cadent in a malefic house, squaring malefic combust Saturn
-also, the placement of the Moon on the 11th cusp together with the placement of POF on the 3rd cusp could be suggesting that, if the pregnancy does occur in the future, it will most likely be within 2-3 units of time (the Moon is the swiftest planet, succedant in Libra- maybe months).

The possible testimonies of the woman becoming pregnant in the future:
-Asc in a fertile sign
- L1 is angular although in the house of the Jupiter's detriment and in the fall of Venus
-Venus is in a fruitful sign and since recently free of Sun beams, close to the point of the exaltation of Jupiter
-as for the placement of Venus, though aware that it could be considered an unfortunate house especially in a question regarding woman's femininity and fertility, I'm also aware that from the renaissance standpoint where conceivement was the result of a romantical encounter- modern ways of conception would have probably looked invasive and unnatural so I'll try to understand that placement as one of the indicators of an "unnatural" method of conception though the separating aspect between Her and the ruler of the 8th (and the natural significator of young people/children) could be saying more: miscarriages, unsuccessful egg implantation or simply previous attempts to become pregnant with the help of modern medicine
-The applying sextile between the luminaries as well Venus and Jupiter trining the 5th cusp from fertile signs (though, from the unfortunate houses)
-the Moon separating from the South node, oriental and applying to Jupiter by a favourable aspect

What i till don't like is- the placement of Jupiter inside the 12th squaring Sun and Saturn burned by the Sun beams ( if I'm not wrong, Lily says it could be a sign of abortion i.e. misscariage) and the Moon/5th cusp opposition. The Saturn is also the dispositor of the POF which adds weight to the squares mentioned above. Also, i don't like the fact that the Moon is squaring her dispositor and that there is no mutual reception between her and the Lord of the 1st.

It certainly does not look promising but sometimes fertility questions throw up surprises. I will take a chance and say yes because the partner's ruler is in a fertile place trining Jupiter likewise. I have seen a yes result once when a significator was in the twelfth.

I'll say yes. Ruler of Ascendant Mars to next aspect Jupiter, in the 1st sign and ruler of 5th sign Pisces, she may have already been pregnant at the time. Did she happen to have a c-section or something?

I'd ignore the Moon as it is in aversion to the Ascendant, but if you wanted to look, it will make a hexagonal aspect with the Sun, who will then square Jupiter.

moon is not too fertile...
the sextile between mars and jupiter happens with Jupiter sitting inside of 12th house... ahhhh and sun gets to jupiter before mars perfects the sextile...

Yes, she did conceive or came to known that conceived within a 2 months time spam. The Moon applies to the Sun, exalted ruler of the 5th, 2? apart. Although reception is by fall, indicating problems.

Mars goes to midheaven, also by 2?. Finally Sun applies to Jupiter, also by 2? (albeit by square) and Mars is received in his domicile, by Jupiter, in the first sign, by a good aspect.

I noticed Jupiter is extremelly slow in this chart since he has just turned direct. This means he will not catch Saturn by a loooong time, so it means that fears of failure stays as fears (and the Sun has power in Leo, so it going conjunct Saturn may present problems, but not impossible to overcome. Finally, in Libra the Moon will receive Saturn, meaning the difficulties faced will be overcame as well). Moon's last aspect in orb is a square to Venus, but with mutual reception by domicile (a girl maybe?). Also, if you look at the whole signs chart, Pisces is the 5th sign, and Jupiter is in the 1st sign, therefore in the 1st house. So, in this chart, Jupiter represents the fertilization process itself, in my opinion. It's position on the 12th by quadrant just means the result is still unknown.

The Sun in Leo has dignity by domicile and triplicity, and the Moon applies to the cusp of 5th house, although by opposition, from a good house. Finally, there is aid of planets in 2 water (fruitfull) signs, Venus in Cancer just received application of the Moon in Virgo and Jupiter was received in exaltation by her in Cancer, and the Moon was carrying Mars disposition after a conjunction (the wish for a son), all aspects by sextille, without any malefic interference.

The chart is radical, since Mars and the Sun (hour ruler) are both hot and dry planets. Again, I place my bets on the application of luminaries by a good aspect to bring a matter to a good ending, even without reception this time.

The outcome:
The querent was told she was most probably already pregnant, which she confirmed after a few days. She gave birth to a baby girl exactly 9 calendary months after the Horary (30 April 2007 if I recall well).

Indications: Late Asc - question is too late.
Mars is lord of both 1st and 5th, connecting the two houses, and is in the 10th house sextile benefic Jupiter. Mars and Mc are in Virgo, a feminine sign, and are both conjunct the arabian part of Daughters (Asc+Venus-Moon).
Sun, the hour ruler , is Almuten of the 5th house. It is strong in its own domicile and exactly trine the cusp of the 5th house.
Moon is cnj the cusp of the beneficial 11th house, applying to sextile strong Sun (a benefic in this case) almuten of the 5th house.

It was helpful to have an old chart to practise on. You can do the astrology without having to worry about upsetting the querent with a negative judgement.

So, the Querent had actually had anormal pregnancy? I'm very pleased to hear that though, it'll be interesting to find out why so many of us have thought that, if she does concieve, the pregnancy might be troubled. Plus, the fact that there are no "obvious" signs that the conception had already taken place makes it ieven more interesting .

I did notice that the child would probably be a girl but, than again, I wasn't sure if she was going to have a successful pregnancy in the first place (I didn't really question whether she would become pregnant but I was so sure that she hadn't been at the time the question was asked)!

The late Asc? Probably! Though, i posted a chart in the other thread where the Asc was in the middele of the sig and still, the question had basically been answered already only the Querent was not aware of that!
