Although our predictions included a couple of 'probablys', England to win on penalties is what we said 8)

I did feel sorry for that last Swedish penalty-taker who hit the post though. Horrible way to lose :(

ItalyU121 - GermanyU21 0-1 :(

I thought that the England/Sweden game was going to be the evening's astrological challenge, then along comes this one and upsets our double.

As you said, Ficina, Mercury was trine POF. In hindsight I will note that the trine was cast through signs of short ascension and below the horizon, converting to a square. I also note that the Moon, who was aspecting the Midheaven, cast her sextile through signs of long ascension, also converting to a square. But if this is the explanation then the chart is so finely balanced and it is difficult to add up what actually causes the upset. The chart was radical, however, I never tried to decide who was the asc. in this chart. Best put to one side for later comparisons. :???:

Oh dear, up a ladder then down a snake

My only hindsight comment is that if a chart lacks clarity then it's best left alone, rather than trying to force a prediction out of it. I must try and remember that in future 8)

Final June 29:

EnglandU21 - GermanyU21,
20.45 CST Malm? 55N36 13E00
Odds: 2,35 3,20 2,95
Asc 23SG49 MC 4SC29 Moon 11LI52 POF 27PI32
Day Moon, Hour Sun - radical by triplicity
Another draw? Both nations are ruled by the same sign Aries. [This is so frustrating - we really need to learn how to spell the difference between England, Germany and Denmark!] Jupiter, L1, casting his antiscia to the MC would argue the favourite. Lord of the hour casting his antiscia to Mercury, L7, is the opposite. Antiscia POF at 2LI28 square Pluto. How I hate this chart. I stick with a draw.

My thoughts go back to the previous World Cup 2006 where the winning team was indicated by Leo. Italy or France? Who would get it? How to tell the difference?

As the tournement unrolled Italy and France met eachother in the final. The Winner was indicated by Venus 9TA09 in the 10th house casting her antiscia to the Leo ascendant. The explaination for Italy's victory was that Venus in the South in an Earth sign (south) indicated that nation that lay to most the South of the two. This was undoubtably Italy who also could take the trophy with them back home after Zidane (France) was given a red card to head-butting an opponent for a verbal offence.

Re Germany-England U21, we have two close arabic point aspects, these might be relevant, but o/c we should see them on other occasions to perform again (if they do perform). Anyway, here we have part of sudden advancement - 04CN51 - trine MC 0?22' and part of plays - 26SG34 - sextile Jupiter 0?06'.
