73 by taurean Re planetary hours, eh, I see. "The Moon in the 10th house actually translates a trine from Mercury, L7, to Jupiter, L1." Thx for this analisys, I would have thought that the trine to Mercury was of real importance, being so close (0?14) although separating. It makes sense now! Quote Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:44 pm
74 by Andrew Bevan TAURIAN - You were not wrong! I have just re-thought my definition of how to use the hours. I cannot mix a space-based house system and time-based planetary hours. Planetary hours reflect the Sun's motion through the sky as it moves through the houses. And then it is just great to be able to look at a chart and see the planetary hour at a flash. That's my kind of astrology! I you would just like to add your understanding of how the Moon's translation from Mercury, L7, to Jupiter, L1, worked - then that would be very interesting! http://www.astronor.com Quote Tue Jun 30, 2009 8:20 pm
75 by Andrew Bevan The own goal scored by Moss in yesterday's match was shown again on television this morning. A beautiful backheel kick performed by the Moss captain. Completely unnecessary - but a terrific goal that secured all points for the opponents, the home team Ham-Kam. This was the only thing that separated from the draw. Bah! Anyone have an opinion on what signifies OWN goals? But in a way, it is just THE BALL we are watching and not the players, or WHO is last to touch the ball, isn't it? Having said that I think it is equally curious that Brazil had a disallowed goal in the final in the Conference Cup against USA. The BALL was definately across the line, yet the referee jugded elsewise. Then the question of a goal or not comes down to a referee decision. There are certain irregularities and variations of this game that deserve some attention. http://www.astronor.com Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:37 am
Own Goal? 76 by AquaStella What's an "own goal"? Is it a goal a player accidentally scores for the opponent? Could it be signified by a retrograde planet or the moon applying to one? Maybe it is signified by a planet at 22? Leo, known as "Being One's Own Worst Enemy"? Could it be a planet in the team's 12th house or the ruler of this house of self undoing? Might it be a planet tightly aspecting Neptune or Uranus? Maybe a planet applying to another planet that it receives in its detrimet or fall (as in Mercury square Uranus in Pisces)? Jupiter Rx. cnj Neptune and Chiron sounds like an own goal, doesn't it ? Was the Moon applying to this triple conjunction during the game ? Both mighty Mercury and mighty Venus were, but who gets to perfect the aspect first? Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:52 am
77 by Andrew Bevan AquaStella wrote:22? Leo, known as "Being One's Own Worst Enemy"? Do you have a quote/reference on this AquaStella? It is interesting. I follow Ebertin on the fixed star Alphard at 27LEO, which indicates "the one who stands alone". And then Goldstein Jacobsen on Serpentis at 19 Scorpio as "the cursed degree". You have some great ideas there, but since own 'self inflicted' goals are rather rare it has to be an indication that doesn't occur all that frequently. In a way it is like handing a point to the other team. However, it is very much like an 'accident at work'. http://www.astronor.com Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 11:53 am
78 by taurean About Leo 22?, e.g. Anthony Luis: Horary Astrology Plain & Simple. You can read a few pages at GoogleBooks. It says this is apparently a malefic degree, not a fixed star. Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:23 pm
79 by AquaStella I don't know the traditional source for this , but one book that mentions it is Tony Louis' "Horay Astrology Plain and Simple" page 164: Being One's own Worst Enemy: 22? Leo 22? of Leo is apparently a malefic degree, not a fixed star, which signifies putting one's worst foot forward and being unable to to work in one's own best interests. Since most of us do this quite well without celestial assistance, I question whether a degree of the zodiac needs to be set aside for this purpose. on the other hand, my natal Mercury is near this degree and my wife tells me I have tendency to put my foot in my mouth, so maybe there is something to it. note "putting one's worst foot forward" and "put my foot in my mouth"... This definitely has something to do with football... As for handing a point to the other team, note Moon translates Mercury's light to Jupiter rx. Seems like the the Moon is the one "handing the point", as Mercury is in Jupiter's detriment. BTW, in this game chart, which house/Planet signified unfortunate Moss and which the other team? Which sign was on the Mc and where was the arabic part of victory? Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:29 pm

Oh, nothing special really! I'm quite a beginner, and I liked what you wrote about translation. Because I haven't thought of that. So there was L1 Jupiter trine Moon trine L7 Mercury. The orb with L1 was around 2? applying, and with L7 very close but separating. I read that it's not a problem if an aspect is separating (in sport astrolgy). So without thinking of translation, I would have said "The aspect with L7 Mercury is closer, so the Moon is helping Mercury, not Jupiter." But, the team represented by Jupiter (asc team) has won. So, if the Moon had helped one of the teams, that must have been the Jupiter team. That's how I interpreted this translation. I hope that I'm not in a great misunderstanding. 82 by AquaStella Thanks, Taurean ! Now I look at the chart and see that Moon in the 10th house of Victory applies Trine to Jupiter rx. lord 1 of the home team. Not only is Moon translating Mercury's light to Jupiter (like taking something from Mercury, Moss, and handing it over to Jupiter rx. , which receives it in a somewhat "backwards" way), but Moon is also cnj fixed star Spica (success and victory) while Moon is actually is in Via Combusta (chaotic condition)..which might suggest "victory through chaos" for the home team. BTW, Chiron is with Jupiter. In mythology Chiron was accidentally wounded by an arrow which went in the wrong direction, just like the ball in that game. Symbolic. Eveything is so much easier in hindsight. Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 3:30 pm

This is quite good, actually. That is like a Saturn/Uranus deflection. I will have to think whether that can be applied to other 'ladders' or 'opening of gates'. To Taurean, re. the translation from L7 to L1. There could be something here. I'm gradually working through what we've been doing the last few months. The translation 'pushes' the aspect where L7 applies to L1 and the home team wins. I have at least found one chart from May 2. Middlesbrough - ManU 0-2 where the L1 applies to the trine of L7 and the guests get it. We have to check things out. Oh, I do like it when everyone is contributing with ideas. 22 Leo casts a sinister sextile to the exaltation degree of Saturn. This is an interesting thesis. The sinister aspect is liable to take a gamble. The sextile through signs of long ascension is apt to learn the hard way through over-estimating own abilities and thus learning the hard way. That's an Andrew Bevan special! Phew, we have over 30C in Oslo. That is surely different to the snow only 8 weeks back! http://www.astronor.com Quote Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:03 pm
