The "Places" dialog [e.g. in the "Personal Data" dialog (Horoscope menu/New or Data)] is a location-editor/selector, so you can add/remove/select towns, villages(places, terrestrial-locations). The Swiss Ephemeris(SWEP) contains the planetary(and asteroid) positions so it has nothing to do with the "Places" dialog. The SWEP is 32 megabytes and if you don't copy it to /SWEP/Ephem then the built in Moshier ephemeris will be used for planetary-position calculations. It is also pretty accurate (3000BC-3000AD): the difference(compared to the SWEP) is 1 arc second for the planets and a few arc seconds for the Moon acc. to AstroDienst. I found the planetary positions identical when I tested it with a 1973AD-chart. The only drawback is that the asteroid positions won 't be calculated with Moshier. I do understand the concept of directing the ascendant and planets through terms. What I don't understand is how to read them from Morinus. I'm an idiot (yes, I already know this). So I took a screenshot of a fair whack of PDs here - Steven or some other person who knows the software, can you tell me which ones are supposed to be terms? Because I can't figure it out on my own. Of course that doesn't mean I still haven't got the settings all screwed up, but I take it that when it goes: Zodiac Sign/Planet.....D.....some point in the chart (ASC, IC, whatever), that's when we have a term change? 59 by Olivia And one more thing: I think I got the settings right the last time I tried this, cos the terms were showing up - except it's not quite the same as the jpg I posted - I hadn't added Saturn in for that one, and for some reason when I hit 'Mundane' it was greying out the Terms box. Every time I close Morinus, the PD 'defaults' flip back, and if I'm going to do PDs, I have to reset them each time. Have I missed a step someplace?
