Hi all,

I have been trying to conceive naturally for a few months, but unsuccessfully. I am 41 years old (I know Frawley needs to know the age for this question). Current medical tests for both me and my husband are very good and very promissing. However, I begin to wonder... if I will ever conceive in a natural way. I cast a chart today, but need some help interpreting.

First - Asc Virgo - most infertile sign. I remember Frawley saying that Saturn near Asc is a No unless Saturn is a significator. Well... Saturn is Lord 5 and has just been in 1 house (could I be pregnant now and not be aware of it yet)? I would not like to test too early to avoid disappointment, so will wait till Sunday.

Lord 1 is combust in Cancer (the most fertile sign). Combustion, according to Frawley is a No. The Sun has just started to separate from Saturn (baby), and still applying to Lord 1 (me). Is this translation of light?

Moon in 5 house applying to Jupiter in 6 - should this be a good sign?
7 house cusp (husband) is in a fertile sign. If we work according to Frawley, the applying Uranus square Pluto should not be taken into consideration I guess?

These were my thoughts. I would appreciate if I can get some help as I cannot determine the answer. I am attaching the chart with applying aspects.

Forgot to mention that Saturn and Mercury are in an applying sextile... And also that, if I remember correctly, the North node in 5 house is not a good sign... or is it?

I see you have read the HT, but you seem to be mixing several rules together.

anyway, I was thinking that maybe saturn, ruler of the 5th, in the ASC means that children are "in your head" you are obcessing with the subject.

I think the aspect of sextile between mercury and saturn is very positive, as you and your husband have visited a husband and there is no sign of problems.

Thanks yuzuru, I realised that I made a few mistakes. The Sun is still applying. I was worried about Mercury being combust. Does this have influence i this chart?

Also, translation of light should mean assisted conception, but wasn't sure if this was actually a case of the Sun translating the light.

I spent about 10 min trying to analyse this chart yesterday and I got completely lost so I decided I'd rather see what others have got to say- this chart is a great lesson, i think, and thank you for sharing it. I hope you'll keep us posted!

When I started examining the chart, the list of my "conclusions" was zig-zag shaped. The L1 applying to L5 (sextile) but L1 is currenty combust. L5 on the ascendant which could be denoting that the pregnancy will occur soon while the Saturn could actually anounce delays!
But that is exactly what we've been talking about in another topic recently- what happens when Saturn is the ruler of the 5th in a pregnancy Horary and when we find it on the Ascendant- your chart could help some of us understand that better.

Though, I'd put the Moon in the 6th and, since it is in the rulership of saturn,, it could be saying something about the medical help you've decided to use. Even the Jupiter is there.

Anyways, the L5 on the Asc and, like yuzuru has said- a favourable aspect between the main significators does bode well. Also, though it has already been said- the Sun is actually separating from both significators but we don't really need translation here, anyway as the significator are applying.

You very well described the source of my confusion here - the L1 sextile L5 and the L1 combustion. Lord 5 being in H1 is a good sign, and I tend to think that the fact that Lord 5 is actually Saturn may not have a negative influence in this case, but again, I am not very experienced in this. I remember once trying to determine when a friend of mine was going to give birth, and Saturn appeared in H1. The baby was a week overdue. So yes, I know what you mean about the delay.

I noticed that Lord 1 is actually in a sign ruled by Lord 5. Does this help?

We have only had initial medical tests so far, and the doctors said that we should try to conceive naturally for another 3 to 6 months despite us being in our early 40s because the results were good. So in September we will have to inform the doctors of how things are going. I have not decided yet about assisted conception, but if it doesn't happen naturally soon, I will have to think about it. It scares me a bit.

The cusp of the 10th, where your ruler is placed is ruled by Mercury but your ruler is actually in the domicile of the Moon (Cancer)!
A good place considering the nature of the sign and the nature of the question. it is currently burned by the Sun, of course,and seeing your ruler so close to the point of the exaltation of Jupiter (the natural ruler of the children) and combust, I do share yuzuru's impression that you're currently "blinded" or obsessed with the idea of having children ( without the help of modern medicine) . The position of the main significators inside the angular houses surely does suggest your determination as well.

Maybe I'm going to far here, but the placement of the Moon (the co-significator of the question) on the 6th cusp and in Aquarius could be a sign of your concern whether you'll actually have to undertake a treatment of some sort (modern medicine/health) . The Sun, the planet that burns your significator is coming from the 12th, it could be another sign of your anxiousness.

The truth is that... I was not actually obsessed with it. I was scared of it. For many years I did not have any motherly instincts. This may have been because I had not met the right man until a copule of years ago. Only this year did I begin to think that actually... something in my mind is changing and now I want to go for it, but at the same time I was and am scared. I should not over-analyse... but yes I have been scred about anytning related to medical treatments.

Now, the big news.
This morning I did a pregnancy test and it came out positive.

While I am happy, the old fear has just rushed back in. It is completely physical - I hate doctors, needles etc, and am worried about how my body is going to perform, whether I will be strong enough physically because of it being such a late pregnancy. My fears may be completely irrational, but fears often are.

Well... I am now hoping for no complications and all being fine. I feel like starting asking all sorts of questions now, but will refrain for some time.

I wonder about the combust Lord 1, I wonder how this will manifest itself.

Well, I believe that is just the question some of us have been pondering upon lately-but, apparently, the ruler of the 5th, smack on the Asc, trining the 5th cusp and with the North node inside it, even applying to your significator by sextile....according to Lilly, plenty of signs of pregnancy. Even with the ruler of the 5th being Saturn. That is great news, indeed! And a very welcome chart so, again, thank you for sharing it and posting the update!

Yout ruler was, like I said, "blinded" at the time the question was asked- you did not see everything clearly or, in plain words- you didn't know that the pregnancy had actually already occurred.

The nature of the Saturn mentioned before could have a lot to do with the fact that you've only decided to become a mother at the age of 42 i.e. that you're becoming a mother in your late reproductive years (without disrespect, of course ). It is an interesting combination given that you're actually represented by the planet of youth! But it can also bring fears!

Your ruler is touching the point of the exaltation of Jupiter (children) while your Moon is applying to the Neptune / Jupiter conjunction which is something I've obviously skipped in my first reading- the Moon applying to the Jupiter was also telling a lot. It's the ruler of the children again and, with the Neptune at the same place, your feminine side i about to go through a transformation process and probably experience what only motherhood can bring.
You're about to meet the feelings and sensations you've never felt before, the female side of your personality is celebrating and, at the same time, it's happening after you've basically "come to terms" with the prospect of never becoming a mother and even questioning your mother instincts for years (which was, of course, partially triggered by some objective reasons such as the one that you're mentioning- the lack of the adequate partner). The chart puts your Asc in Virgo- you're probably used to not being a mother and it will probably take time to adjust to this situation. But nature does miracles!
In addition, the "everyday" fears (like you say- that can often sound irrational but are perfectly normal) that you're mentioning;medicines, needles, physical strength etc. are probably also introduced through the Moon's placement inside of the 6th (your main concerns) , Aquarius and neptune and there's also the influence of the ruler of the 12th on your Asc ruler.
I'd say you should just take it easy and give yourself enough time to win the fears and come to terms with the changes that are currently happening. Becoming a mother as well as falling in love and committing to someone should be (and usually is) a perfectly normal thing for an individual but delays can cause people to "learn" how to live without them and being "thrown" into a story you didn't even think you belonged to all of the sudden, could be stressful and could often seem a bit unnatural at first. It happens to women who become pregnant at a later age all the time. But, bare in mind- one of the biggest obstacles for women of your age to become mothers is, generally- infertility (or reduced fertility). Your body has just given you a sign that you are still very fertile. While, everything besides that : physical strength, energy even youth is on your side. A woman of 42 is a young woman!
